How about adding a powerful hero unit for the players to protect instead of peasant, the hero of course will defend himself from the enemy bots, and the player had to follow him/her around to help fight and make sure he stay alive?
As long as the hero doesn't chase enemies around and charge into large group solo.

this idea has merit, but keep the principal of the mode the same, as in, if this 'hero' gets hit too much, then he loses all his clothes and it is assumed that he is then raped by the angry swarms. also, i would like to nominate goretooth as a hero to be defended as it makes far more sense for him to survive such crazy amounts of damage than it does for the girl in clothes.
as for the defending himself thing, well sure, give him a bec and have him swing at anything that comes near! game might be too easy though.
p.s. in all seriousness i actually quite like the new mode, and as hilarious as it would be to see goretooth as a defendable npc who loses all his armour and gets raped by swarms of infantry, i think its fine the way it is.

sure, bobthehero can stand in the middle of town and if we fail to aid in his defense he can be raped by the masses. i didnt know you were into that kinda thing bob.

Would make sense if the "hero" were royalty, eg. Defend the King.
Just played some DTV, and wow, just realized you guys weren't kidding about the rape.
