Forget that. That dont bother me. WTF why is with the wench standing in the middle of a field? either make it so the game mode is separate to classic DTV, get rid of this hairy bollocks n change it back, or make it so the wench is moveable to a defensable position where its possible to get up a shieldwall.

DTV was all about finding an exploitable place and camping it with your x5.

This has been fixed.

Also, give some feedback on the reward, we need to know if it's too high or too low.

WRONG. I only ever did that after a couple hours of frustrating noob teams that skirmished then wondered why they dident make it past x3 so I could make back my repair costs. I prefered defend because could do the team thing and get up a shieldwall and not stand in the middle of a field. thats what idiots do. And to fix something means you made it better. You did not make it better therefore it was not fixed. At least make it so the wench is moveable as that'd both get rid of glitchers and make it so we can get up a defensive position. Battle srvrs are for fighting in that playstyle not defend srvrs. If we all fought like that Humans'd still be living in caves IF alive. And also. I played defend quite often. People'd quite often skirmish like noobs. occasionally defend like a team, and occasionally Id see a few guys glitching and theyd get kickvoted after a certain amount of people joined.

I also live a few thousand k's away dude. Theres no AUS defend srvrs at the moment and I cant afford to make one for a while. I can still do the team thing with 500 ping. Melee is not quite possible with that much ping as he stands there for a sec or 2 after I press button.

Right now the new version of DTV its pretty stupid. I don't know how many different tactics you can think of for defending middle of nowhere but this just isn't fun. You should be able to at least move to a different defensive position.

Before we actually had to work for the multiplier by holding against (a lot) of harder enemies. Any team without a proper shield wall wouldn't survive even peasant waves. Any hesitation on the part of the shielders would mean death to all teammates.

Now there is no teamwork at all. There is no teamwork because there is no opportunity for teamwork, you took it all away.

Actually, I joined DtV server couple about 15 mins ago, and ppl there were fighting ENGINEERS. I've never seen engineers myself, even though I used to pike&camp and other activities. This show, that it is POSSIBLE to make it.

Constructive:

Pros:
* No glitching anymore - only TRUE teamwork will lead you to success.
* It's sometimes kinda easier than it used to be - bots blindly charge to the virgin, leaving backs open. So if there are 4 good shielders on the server, they can make a ring around virgin, while other teammates backstab stupid bots.
* New reward system? Hope it smth better than 1\2 gold\exp + full repair costs, lol.

Cons:
* Some classes now have rly hard time - I'm a crossbowman myself, and there is no safe place anymore to reload (and if there are some, they're too far away from action)
* "Ballast" newbies are now extra pain in the ass - as we all know, more ppl on serv=more bots spawned. So if before there was a place, where team could BOTH hide newbs and relatively safe destroy "their" share of bots, now, if your team has even 2-3 peasants - ye're SCREWED, as now you have to fight those "extra" bots in the open + newbs die real quick
* Heavy infantry MUCH desired - now if you don't have these guys in your team, you can't count on surviving enemies with decent armor.

Ofc there's smth I forgot\not noticed. Hope this feedback was helpful.

I'm on the EU dtv server and the bots are glitching outside of the map to unkillable areas.

It seems to me as if most of your current complaints could be fixed with a move wench command phail. As for the blindly rush at wench thats just ignorant. thats even more noobish than it was previously as theyd at least try and attack a shieldwall or noobs skirmishing (or the people glitching). So in a attempt to get rid of one form of glitching they created another? They should keep the attack nearest bot script (unless they can figure out a move to wench and attack what is blocking path script thats not broken) as that'd get rid of the new glitch and youd still need to defend the wench and not leave gaps in the defence to do the gamemode properly.

and as for bots glitching. Ive seen that before but on a different map dude. Had to call in a archer but thats no sweat.

move wench command would cause confusedness, wo would be the one to move it? if everyone could, i believe some trolls would move her to weird ass positions

that'd be easy to counter. either move it back. make a minimum percentage of people approving proposed move command or a kick/mutevote.  simple dude. and itd definately improve DTV. It'd get rid of people skirmishing and also glitchers. People'd actually need to find a defensive position and work as a team or fail.

The new system of XP/Gold is much more attractive than before. You're rewarded at your just due when you fight stronger ennemies, more than a x5 I believe.
And no reparation cost is also a good thing, especially when the round is too long.
As for the virgin, make her moveable and it will be a constant fight to know where to put her. While she remains at the same place, the teamplay is forced and much more interesting than a simple "shieldwall-2h-archers" camping I believe.

at least with a shieldwall its manly. like phail said. they only glitching in a different way now they dident cut it out. As for the moving thing theres a plethora of ways to do that properly. Its simple enough to kickvote people who are being noobs. and if she's put in a corner in a defensive position it still encourages team play as ya still gotta defend the stupid wench. The change in bot behavior is definitely needed though. A move there but attack enemies within certain range thing and then continue moving there'd be probably the most efficient way of doing it. Or simply go back to the attack nearest enemy script. The trying to defend a open field is simply ignorant. People who did that historically where called dead. its defend the village not skirmish stupidly at the village. that sort of gameplay is what battle srvrs are for.

I think there were some definite improvements, but the defend the virgin has just made it a spamfest because you are in a big opena rea doing nothing but mobbing enemies as they come.  At elast in the old game mode there was soem real strategy and you coordinated the use of the ruins or house or tower and worked as a team.  Even then it was really tough to beat.  This system gets boring a lot quicker.  Rather just attack the virgin the whole time instead.

Its probably got a lot of potential to encourage team work. But not in its current form. Im not gonna go near it. Its essentially melee in a open field. You ever tried melee with 500 ping? The team thing (which is my prefered way of doing it even when the AUS srvrs up) is no sweat but melee? HAH

New system is good maybe the rewards are a little too low for how long u play.

If you were to remove gold/repair (so people cant farm but can wear what they want) and just have normal or slithly higher exp it would be fun and rewarding

there should be like 10 hardcoded spots. The peasant should spawn at one of them randomly at the start of the game. There, problem solved.

I played DTV for a bit.. and it was fun for a while, but I tired of it awfully quickly.  Rounds are short, and there's so, so little variation. 

What I liked about DTV before was when the team would try to find a good spot from which to defend, working together to put up a shield wall, hold doorways, etc.  Seemed like that required more actual teamwork than the current setup.  Yes, now you need some shielders to hold the npcs off of the virgin - but there's no variation, and thus no need for tactical discussion. 

The former problem with people getting 5x multiplier and then finding an inaccessible spot to camp.. couldn't you just add a 6-7 minute round timer, and if you haven't killed all the enemies when it runs out, you lose?

Or rather than punishing those who try to play it why not just ban the problem players? I thought dtv was only meant to be ran when an admin was present?

I agree! Then add the possibility of a poll to choose the location of her spawning point and it would be perfect!

DTV is fun to play now, but you lose about 2-5k in an hour with standard equip.

since you only get 100-300gold per level, i suggest to remove the Repaircost from this mod.

The only change you need to stop people from exploting by taking a long time on the rounds is to have end of round bonus. Yall had solved the problem until you added the whole virgin thing. Completely unnecessary.

Please add back in Defend the Village but only allow bonus at end of round.
