Title: Wants me to update to 1.230 from 1.223

I have a Steam version of the game and always get jumpy with anything Steam when updating, doubly so as c-RPG adds more jump to the mix.

I can log in and see my character. When trying to join cRPG 1 it stated that the server was running 1.230 and I 1.223 and I should dl a new version.
I clicked to take me to the dl page, which was for the new Warband update, I should already have that as I had to change the crpg ini the other day when steam updated Warbands.

So do I guess the question is, do I need to find a 1.230 update for c-RPG which I do manually, or am I and my ini being ghey?

I'm having the exact same problem with the non-steam version only after downloading that very patch.

Steam is not updating it, is there a place to update from?

I had a look before, it wants me to update to 1.42 of Warbands.

Steam update this last week.

After the Steam update, on joining the crpg server last week I got an error, it said something like "wrong version, server is running different version 1.???? to yours 1.???? (I forget the numbers)

A chap on these forums posted a fix, it involved changing the ini file a little http://forum.c-rpg.net/index.php/topic,9426.0.html

This fixed the problem fine.

Untill crpg just updated, right up untill an hour or so ago.

Does it sound like an ini file problem or is there a 1.230 patch I can dl for crpg as I don't need a 1.42 WB patch?

I got it working. Turns out there's both a crpg patch and a Warband patch. You need to download both. If you go to the announcement thread, the Warband patch is the first one. And the two smaller links are the crpg one

I updated the mod, which is working now...however the website has issues:

Create website account
Create a new website account to manage the character.
Character not found.
Name:Password:Confirm:
5Done

I have waited for some time and it's not making a difference.

I have steam and it's supposed to download automatically. and yes I did follow Garrus' suggestion, and now I've changed it back to "compatible_with_warband". but all my mods are still in v1.134. So I downloaded the warband patch 1.142 but what do I do with it then? when I click on it, it says that warband is not installed and that I need to download the "full installer" from taleworlds.com.

I had similar trouble. Here's what I did:

1. Remove Garus fix by deleting the line you added in module.ini in the crpg folder.
2. Install the downloadable Warband 1.142 (link in blue here http://forum.c-rpg.net/index.php/topic,10096.0) to a different location (if you try installing it to the steam location it creates a new folder called 'Mount&Blade Warband' within the steam warband).
3. Copy 1.142, aka Mount&Blade Warband from where you installed it, into the steamapps/common folder by changing the name to mountblade warband (steam name).
4. Install the new crpg download as usual.

Done.

Has to be done in that order. If you install crpg then update warband it doesn't work. And yes my steam didn't update auto either, even after changing the option.

You could probably just try installing the warband patch to the steamapps/common folder by changing the path to 'mountblade warband'. But I prefer to do it manually because then I can see it working.

Thanks for the quick reponse Overdriven, and it would be very helpful if only I could install the patch once I download it. I can save it and move it around all that but I'm uanable to install it.

What do you mean? You just run the installer :S

Hmm re-read your post. Not sure why that is. Ok try changing the path for install to the  steam folder aka steamapps/common/mountblade warband.

See if that works. It may well install a new folder inside. In which case you copy and paste the contents to the actual mountblade warband folder. Or can't you even get that far?

I did indeed try to download the patch to the mount & blade-folder in steamapps/common/mountblade warband and not even from there would it allow me to install anything. thank you for trying to get to the bottom of this.
