Any chance to include Roman armors, swords and shields etc into the game?
Think of the possibilities when on the battlefield trying to keep those cohorts in cohesion
-
I would rather prefer Indian stuff so we can all get along and play Apache vs Chichimeca tribes =)
But anyways. Roman stuff would be kewl i guess.
-
Indeed, it would be nice to see roman gears on the battlefield.
But it would ask a lot of work and models since roman equipment changed a lot during the roman history.
-
The gab between late medieval age and roman golden age is around 1000 years.
Would look silly to see a legionary vs a samurai.
But still, romans are cool.

Well, in crpg i can see on the same battfield, gears from the very end of the XVth century and gear from the XIth century, or even older.
I'm not event talking about the vickings or samurais.
So roman legionaries would not hurt.

It would, its a completely different timezone.
The 11th and 15th century is both medieval age.

Yea, especially because technology in warfare didn't change DRASTICALLY during the dark ages... hence why they're called the dark ages.
-
you know taht there is a roman mod right??
-
My understanding was that Gorath or w/e was actually going to add roman gear (weapons AND armor) in the last patch.. but his comp took a shit and we are left wiff no nuffins.
Legionnaire vs Samurai would be like deadliest warrior imo :D
-
Why are we concerned with historical accuracy? Samurai vs Arabic cavalry? Milanese plate vs wedding dresses? Side swords vs viking gear? cRPG is the Deadliest Warrior Online.
+1 on the Roman stuff. I study classics and it would be fun to get a couple classmates and play a few rounds with Roman gear. This does highlight, however, the need for a short-range stabbing animation for short swordsman while they're also holding a shield. Roman tactic, sensible tactic, and what's most missing from 1h combat IMO.

There were no dark ages.
I'd love this gear in. Heck, I'm all for adding every equipment piece from 1500 AD and earlier.
-
Add some medieval roman (byzantine) armor instead of ancient roman stuff. That wouldn't hurt the timeframe.

YESSSSS totally agreeee!!!!
Let's make halloween.
We have ninjas (they aren't so bad cause ninjas were living in the same time as knights)
Vikings (not so bad too)
but R-o-m-a-n-s? I know why they won so many battles! They had time machine!
Calradia is like Europe in Xth - XVth centuries.
It's the mix of these ages.
-
I'm all for adding new gear, as long as its in a reasonable historical time period. Roman gear is from a different era and I'd say its a bit ridiculous. But if roman stuff gets added, I want greek stuff too. I'd love to see hoplite warfare.
-
There is a Roman Clan, the Legio.
Members are almost italian, in strategus they own the rhodokian zone.
I'd like to be an Hastato, so it would be nice having this kind of armors.
Who cares about realism, when everyone mix up gear from different nations only for bonuses.
-
Yeah, I really wanted a Roman character for my thrower. But the armours prevented me :/
I'd like to see Rome: TW (noobish I know) Sets of armour.
So there'd be 3 inf sets and 1 cavalry set
We could use the board shield I guess, and short swords. It's just the armour :'(
+1 to this idea. I love it

YESSSS
We def need some Roman armor
-
I'm no medievalist but it doesn't seem radically absurd to me to have Roman gear in a medieval context. Most of what's used in Mount&Blade is top tier equipment that would only be used by aristocrats getting their war on. Lower class equipment would be more basic and... perhaps... more Roman?
-
"Standard" roman gear would probably me mid tier stuff. We already have mail shirts and lamellar, just need a romanized version. Nothing similar currently to lorica though, which was relatively unique to the Romans.
