Can't wait to finally shoot people in this.

Come on, don't fucking lie. The only good thing in any of these games was shooting people. The story was only a bonus.

Hell no, the story was never the most important aspect, but there's more to it than just shooting.

Hitting people with cars and/or other vehicles?

Driving around, listening to the radio, maybe having the cops chase you, that kind of things. Flying the planes in SA. Driving in VI (try the realistic driving mod :D )

Half my gameplay in GTA IV was dicking around with that awesome ragdoll and physics engine. I think it should be required by law for every video game to have that physics engine. The other half was driving around with the excellent as always GTA radio. I loved the way cars handled in GTA IV, I don't quite get why so much people disliked it. Cars felt nice and heavy, taking turns at high speed was actually quite difficult and crashes felt like actual crashes. I did understand the criticism at the shooting mechanics though, which were pretty damn crap in my opinion.

Bless you Teeth, I too love the way cars handle in GTA VI (compared to NFS-type driving anyway). You really should try this http://www.gtagarage.com/mods/show.php?id=5529

Really? Okay I get why people dont like 4 so much. But GTA 3 was practically the most revolutionary game on the planet when it came out. Nothing practically ever made came even close to it. If you played GTA3 in a later state........you missed out bigtime. I remember kids crying if they couldnt play this. San Andreas still remains my top fav from GTA-s, cause of all the shit you could do.

What exactly was so revolutionary about GTA 3?

The first GTA in 3D. And for the genre, it was quite a big deal.

First free-roam 3d game ever made. Imagine getting to beat up hookers for the first time, steal random cars, shoot random people, go whereever you want in 3rd person view for the very first time. Its hardly a big suprise these days thou......

First free roam 3d game ever? Are you kidding me? Hunter, which was probably the first game fulfilling this description, was 10 years earlier. After that, dozens have come before GTA3. Hell, even Super Mario 64 fits the description of "free roam 3d game", and it came out when, 1997 or something?

By free roam I assume Tiberius meant a big open world where you can commit crimes.

This is the game GTAIII "borrowed" some things from:

Many people also think that WarCraft III was very original game, but most of them don't remember Battle Realms.

It's a level-based game, where you run around and randomly arrest people in small-ish urban-styled levels?

Yes, it is. I didn't say GTAIII copied everything. But before GTAIII came this was the only game I know set in a modern age with full 3D graphics. It does look like GTAIII a lot in certain aspects, especially the way you interact with pedestrians and their reactions.

Levels in that game aren't that small, some are half the size of starting GTAIII area (Portland or whatever it's called).

Did you play GTAIII when it came out in 2001? I was 15 years old back then and game was forbidden in many countries and was rated M (18+). No one cared about that in Serbia. You were 11 year old when GTAIII came out, amirite? And 9 years old when Urban Chaos came out :)
