Lies and slander. I already know how to use those "book" thingies to wipe my arse!

Books such as? What are the last three books you read?

The Stranger, The Eye of the World and Beyond the Shadows are the last entertainment books I've read.

Currently reading The Great Hunt while waiting for the The Winds of Winter to come out.

Currently reading The Great Hunt while waiting for the The Winds of Winter to come out.

Fiction, pffffffffft. Reading one fictional book once in a while is good, but otherwise read something useful instead.

Autobiographies, history, science.

For you Jarlek I would recommend:

Bruce Hood's : The Self Illusion: How the Social Brain Creates Identity

and one of my personal favourites:

David Eagleman's : Incognito: The Secret Lives of The Brain
(look him up, lots of great lectures etc).

Try read some Conn Iggulden. He's written very good series about Roman Empire and Genghis Khan

I'm not really disagreeing with what you try to say, just wanted to add:

Every books, fictional or not, present problems/solutions that could exist and reading those books are as useful as reading historical/realist ones : it enlarges your mental compass.

Edit : Almost forgot why I was posting, here it is :

Fiction, pffffffffft. Reading one fictional book once in a while is good, but otherwise read something useful instead.
Most of my reading is for entertainment, but he asked for the last three, and they were the last three I finished (all within last month). My "entertainment" books I usually finish quickly while my "educational" (most are not related to my studies actually), I usually read over long periods of time. For example, I've been reading Machiavelli "The Prince" on and off for the last year. I've read the whole thing, but since I do it in intervals I keep rereading different sections, jumping back and forth in it.

That being said, you should listen to what Butan said. Many fictional books (and I would say, all great fiction) shows/reflects problems/situations we have in the real world, but takes away a lot of bias and stigma. They are basically used as thought experiments.

Take R.A. Salvators Drizzt series and it's take on racism.

Although I do love meself a nice history book or autobiography.
