This looks fabulous. Really my type of things, mix of strategy/roleplaying (for upgrades) and a slight bit of skill to evade torpedoes for example. ( the guy should have disabled his shield in the first vid to dodge the 2nd torpedoe though)

i skimmed over this video at first, but took a second look and it does look pretty fun.  Will need to watch the entire thing again.
Would be 10x more awesome if it was Multiplayer

I've had no problems with them, care to point out a reason you feel that way?

The ship design looks very much like Master of Orion's.

Starfarer should've had multiplayer. I mean, seriously, that combat with multiplayer would've been brilliant. Co-op with each player on his own ship only or team vs team or hell, even fleet for each player. Currently it's kinda neat, but needs more work to be actually good. Basically there isn't enough to do.

I was actually gonna code a multiplayer space game that would've been kind of similiar in terms of combat at one point. Playing Starfarer a few months ago got me interested again, but dunno lol. It shouldn't take that long to get a basic prototype up for such tho.

Yeah I bought the game and played it for a few hours. I've reached the 100 limit for the fleet, 1 capital ship, 2 destroyers, 4 frigates and 4 fighter wings, all high tech Corporate stuff, and there's not much else to do beyong ambushing those fleets coming in off the map. I'm just using the abandoned station to build up an entire spare fleet in the unlikely event I lose this one. The Paragon class capital ship with 4 tachyon lasers on them or whatever they're called is just ridiculous, snipe destroyers from the very edge of your vision with 2 shots, barely need to take any objectives during large battles, just show up with the capital ship, 2 destroyers and maybe a couple of frigates or fighter wings as escort and rape everything.

The things planned to be implemented will probably give the game a little more depth, but you're right, the game mechanics are perfect for a multiplayer game. Probably hard to balance everything around for multiplayer though. I can think of many "troll" fleet builds.

Pretty fun game with potential. Can't wait for it to be a bit more fleshed out.

Limited as it is atm, still very fun. I've "finished" it a few times already and I'm waiting for more updates to add some more replayability.
