As the title says, Dupre is unavailable so I'll just hand respeccs and exchanges manually. I guess he won't have anything against it :D

Pros:
+ It'll finally happen!
Cons:
- It'll take more time since it's manual.

Rules here are simple, you post here, or you message me by pm, and you include:

Name of at least one of your characters, so I can find your account with it and manually give a free respecc to each of them. Free respecc will be given to all of your characters. After being given, free respecc expires after 14 days or when it's used.

Free heirloom exchange will be given to your main character, unless you specificaly ask for it to be on another character. There will be only one heirloom exchange per account. It also expires after 14 days since being applied to your account.

From today, for 2 weeks, you can post here/message me and you'll be given both, offer expires after 21st of July. Scratch that, I ain't gonna be this harsh.

FAQu

Q: How long do I have to utilise my exchange and respecc?
A: 2 weeks from the day you're given them, after that both of them expire automatically.

Q: If I log in on 21st of July and ask for respecc and exchange, will I still be given them?
A: Yes.

Q: Can I have a heirloom exchange on another character that is not my main character?
A: Yes, just be specific about it))

Q: Can I have more than 1 heirloom exchange or more than 1 free respecc for 1 character?
A: No, you only get 1 heirloom exchange on one of your characters and a free respecc for each character.

Q: I fucked up my respecc because I have butter fingers, help?
A: I will probably be able to reset your character to a point in time before the botched respecc.

Q: I fucked up my free heirloom exchange because of my butter fingers, help?

IMPORTANT - You do the heirloom exchange yourself. After I give it to one of your chars, when you go into that chars inventory on the website, you'll see something like this on your heirloomed items: visitors can't see pics , please register or login

And you click it and there'll be a list with all items possible, and it'll ask you for your password to verify.

Good evening,

So a few questions popped up recently about free heirloom exchange, free respeccs and Pindor - all of those things, and also the eventual patch are in Dupre's domain, but he is missing.

He didn't tell anyone anything so I assumed it was work related or whatever, but after 2 months he finally messaged me a few days ago;

I don't think he'll have anything against me sharing the message so that cRPG community knows what is happening:

That being said, please remain patient. If he won't be able, I'll ask him and maybe start dealing out the free respeccs/heirloom exchanges manually myself))

Good evening;

Admin changes:

Nightingale is removed as an admin from both EU and NA admin teams. I've talked with Nightingale about it, with few other NA and EU admins, and asked a couple players.
After Desire gave me an ultimatum, I could not let them remain. Nightingale isn't banned, and can continue being an item balancer/advisor if they want to.

Kratos is now a trial admin for EU servers.

Rule changes:

Following an admin poll that lasted for 10 days and had a short discussion with most of us agreeing, the new rule that cmp added -

Minor announcements:

Item shop pictures that are currently missing are mostly done, expecting an occasion to be added.

You can expect a map rotation change in the nearest future™, better suited to a smaller playerbase, some old maps that are out of rotation could find their way back in.

Personal announcement - I recorded the themed battle (Crusaders vs Jihadists) but it got delayed - I'll post it in the coming days once I'm done editing out the bugged parts of the clips, no idea when I'll finish since Sony Vegas likes to suck enormous dick at random.

Good evening;

Following the events of NA and the drama that followed, Dupre enacted a few changes to the admin hierarchy with general approval, amongst them:

I'll be the head admin for both EU and NA teams, and with the powers that I have I'll also manage stuff that you previously directed to Harald/Rico/Dupre: account issues, character issues (botched respeccs, killed characters, transfers etc.), and other issues if my powers allow.

Which basically means that Dupre manages the technical side of the mod, and I will manage the PR and practical side. Feel free to direct complaints to me, either on here by forum private message or on the c-rpg website (Stromgarde_Uthyr_Pendraeg).

Also, you can add me on steam for easier contact: My steam profile

Butan and Chy are the newly chosen (but long since working) Strategus developers, with more access and powers than before, which bodes well. :o

And few announcements from me:

Changes to admin positions may come in the nearest days and some are bound to happen anyway, sooner or later.

Changes to rules may happen, if anything, but not before being discussed with the admin teams. Our goal is to, after all, guarantee people keep playing this mod and enjoy it, without having to exterminate the server to weed out the rule breakers. :D

Again, feel free to post here with questions or simply message me. If I won't answer something today, I'll probably do it tomorrow or later if I won't have too much work on my head.

We, the Stromgarde clan have prepared a reward for finishing a "hard" map. The reward will be paid for entire team, regardless the score of particular players.

How do you take part in it? Simple: play DTV, win a map that is not on the list below, post screenshots here of both the entire playerlist and the killed 3rd wave of tincans.
After that, we'll personally message each player from that list, telling them to put up a trade and congratulating them. :)

There is no time limit, the first team to do the did and post it gets the reward. The contest may be done again after it's completed once, if the reception is positive :)

The idea behind this contest is simple - many players drop in motivation whenever an "old DTV" map comes up. This should motivate them to try and succeed even on the hard(er) maps, because all maps there are to be enjoyed - not avoided.

Reward will be 50k gold for each player (1,5 million for the whole team, but it may increase if people are willing to donate/our members donate more).
There will also be a special reward for:

Offensive melee player with highest score - 1 loompoint and a +3 item of the players choice from Richy's collection. (A market jew, so maybe he'll have something fun)
Archer player with highest score - 1 loompoint
The most valuable shielder, BUT not the same person as the "Offensive melee" (hard to judge the contribution, therefore will be picked by a poll by players from the team) - 1 loompoint

Successful run should be proved with appropriate screenshots/recordings that contain both the proof of beating the last wave of Tincans and entire team's playerlist. There is no need to make screenshots/recordings in case if the team will include one of Stromgarde members:

Those maps are not included because they are deemed as too easy to complete by a competent team. We're aiming harder than this  :twisted:

The amount of reward as well as list of excluded maps may change in time, we will update this thread in that case (there is a huge chance that rewards will be increased and some maps will be deemed too easy).

They've been removed in order to reduce the griefing/abuse of rooftops/huts/haystacks/fences which made dumb AI stuck and "defencless" to attack from behind, by ranged or by long weapons. Also allowed for players to hold an unreachable position where they couldn't be hurt by melee enemies, and abuse the then-invincible 10+ shieldskill people.

  • There are no more invincible shields, so that problem solved itself
  • Make more gaps in already-existing fences to make it harder to defend them, but still possible
  • Make some of the rooftops accessible to a certain point by the bots, so they could still catch some players up there if they are unaware

I don't like the new DTV. I'm not saying the age of abuse and fence-camping was good, but for the love of god, most of those new maps just SUCK, and since you play only one run on them before they change, it makes it feel... dull. And boring, and you quit after a short while.
"OH HEY LOOK WHAT A NICE MAP WITH THOSE RUI-" Aaaand it's changed.

DTV used to be a gentle entry for any new cRPG player who wanted to improve himself by fighting bots in a battle-wannabe gamemode without getting constantly destroyed. Now it's just a 80% bad maps 20% grind maps with try-hards making shieldwalls and full-plated maul spammers crushing everything. New maps are all small, tight, and in no way even ALIKE the battle (like DTVirgin used to be) or siege (DTVillage), they're just a mindless "charge them or shieldwall" repeating patterns of 1-way corridors, where cavalry can only play their class for the 1st wave of each round, and archers are only useful for 10 seconds untill bots clash with the shieldwall.

It used to be a relaxing gamemode for people to chillout, have some fun slaughtering bots and enjoying themselves, now it's just a mad spam-fest in tight maps that look awful and take away a lot of freedom old villages offered.

There are many old maps that allowed players to have fun, use tactics, and NOT only rely on bad AI. Bring them back, and server will return to it's constant 15 players minimum state, not the 2/30 we see today and then 32/30 when a grinder map is up. :(
People say that new maps provide challenge and aren't as easy as the old ones. Well, sure they do provide challenge, but didn't the old maps do the same? They also allowed for much more improvisation andfun  :rolleyes:

Other suggestions are welcome, please discuss if all maps should be re-added (except for the most abused ones, like Istiniar or Yaragar), or should more of them be re-considered and a compromise reached by adding only some of them which were fine (like Chide, Amashke)

EDIT: Add more gaps in fences, bring huts/haystacks to ground level, that is also a viable solution to the unreachable places problem.

TL;DR Most of current DTV maps are bad and kill DTV, bring back old maps from DTVirgin mode, either most of them or only selected few

Hello!

Following the recent amount of threads about how we could help new players get more accustomed with the hostile world of cRPG, I decided to throw my 0.02$ in.

Recently it's getting more and more common for us to see questions like "Where should I put my skills/attributes in if I want to..." from new players in servers. And even if they don't ask such questions, it's just a matter of time when they reach a high level and realise they're a tri-hybrid good in nothing in particular.

So, I made  this

A small menu with most popular classes and 3 builds for each of them to choose from. (sorry horse-archers/xbowers/throwers)

Point of it is ONLY to show a possible new player how should he develop his character in order to get a solid skill-set. No more searching forums in wain, now all builds, from regular 2handers to lance-cavalry are in one place, in (I think :o ) a user-friendly menu.

Just download it and run, operate with arrow-keys and ESC/Spacebar (sorry, mouse denies cooperation  :oops:) Nope, mouse works now :D

If it's deemed helpful by people, I'd suggest adding it to somewhere on the front-page of cRPG (c-RPG.net Announcements/Tavern?) so newcomers can quickly grab it and set a goal for themselves. :)

If you see any errors, please quickly point them out for me to fix (Just 5 minutes ago I removed 8 powerdraw from the 21/15 two-hander build :lol:)
