Announcements / Re: Retirement back, without name change
« on: January 11, 2011, 11:13:33 pm »

Also, you cannot/don't have to change the name any more.

I think people were thrown off by this statement. chadz meant that when you retire you don't have to change your name to make a new guy but you will still have the option. They are changing the retirement naming from pre-patch (i.e. start at "name" retire to "name_I" to "name_II")  so you can retire with character "name" to character "name" without any problems.

Please correct me if I am wrong

You can't change your name like you used to per retirement. Take advantage of chadz's deal to change character names within the next 7 days now!

thanks for the mod chadz and great message. I like the game a lot more because of the patch. keep up the good work.

Edit: Oh I almost forgot the best thing!

The best thing was the autobalance by banner. But this was sadly disabled due to a few clanmates and I stomping around the EU servers with Spirited Plated Chargers in massed cavalry charges for a few rounds until they wised up and purchased pikes.

I really liked that too! My friends and I had a lot of fun playing on the same side. It allowed for more coordination, even if it was just between a handful of us. I didn't realize it got removed. Is this true for the NA Servers?

Here's how I changed my game play style so I can continue having fun with the new patch. (Which I really like btw) Let me know what you think of it or if you have figured out something similar/better.

I have 3 sets of equipment: light, medium and heavy (this includes weapons and armor)

    * I use light whenever and is set as my default equipment. Use it to farm gold, or whenever I have x1 multiplier.
    * I use medium only when I have at least a x2 or x3 multiplier
    * I use heavy only when I have at least a x3 or x4 multiplier

I find that this style minimizes the gold lost and still allows me to play well with a range of different armor sets. I actually gained a lot more gold than I usually would. I am not sure if this is how chadz intended us to play but I really enjoy it.

What's your style?

Can someone post a screenshot of what the light strange armor looks like? I have only seen heavy.

I don't see why the breaking of an item is based on chance. What would make more sense to me is to have it break after a certain number of rounds lost like a ticket counter to give it a health instead of just being random.

Yes I did and so did everyone else. In order to re-balance levels, you have to lose experience otherwise you're level wouldn't go down. Experience is like a marker to indicate you're current level.

General Discussion / Where can we find a Change Log?
« on: January 05, 2011, 03:33:27 am »
Is there a place where we can see a change log just for reference?

Also, I'm interested to know how retirement has changed. Has it been removed completely? My question will probably be answered if there ends up being a change log.

Strategus General Discussion / Re: Small Theme Battle - VOTE FOR TIME
« on: January 03, 2011, 07:45:16 pm »
One guy on the thread in old forums said he would bring me troops for a NA battle.

I am willing to organize an NA strat battle too, if you want to pool in troops & gold I can make a bigger one!

Definitely. I have like 500 troops and  some gold but I can save up for more. I don't imagine Jedi Knights v. Sith Lords would cost much though because it would just be robes, swords and throwing

My clan and I would be willing to host the next theme battle. I have a little over 500 troops and am trying to get my clanmates to get the basics of strategus.

Here is my idea:

Jedi Knights vs Sith Lords

Equip: Robes and 2 hand swords with throwing weapons (lightsabers and force throw). Probably black robes and hoods for siths and something else for knights. No archers

I was also thinking it would be fun to have this on NA strategus (we are NA based)
