General Discussion / What happened to the Rageball game mode?
« on: October 13, 2012, 05:58:58 am »
I really miss this game mode, and it was disappointing to not see it in any of the C-RPG servers anymore. In my opinion, it was the most fun to be had in C-RPG. So what happened?

EDIT: Figured out the game mode was called rageball.

Game Balance Discussion / Round Steel Buckler
« on: October 13, 2012, 05:49:02 am »
This thing stinks. It's one of the easiest shield to break in the game, and has the least coverage. It does have low weight and high speed though, so it is okay for duels (though you'll have to dodge more than block or else it will still break). So why does it cost so much? There are a lot of cheaper shields nearly as fast with much more coverage, so why is this one of the most expensive? It's even more expensive than the MUCH superior Steel Buckler. Perhaps it's one of those "showoff" items to prove your skill, like when people fight in peasant's clothing, but they don't use shields so probably not.

Please re-work this item's price.

Suggestions Corner / Greatest Idea. Will Change C-RPG Forever.
« on: April 30, 2012, 02:47:28 am »
Last night I was wicked high. I began thinking about Mount&Blade and then suddenly, out of nowhere, the greatest idea ever hit me. I knew that if this idea was implemented into C-RPG, thousands and thousands of new players would download the mod, and would continue to play indefinitely. This very idea of mine would fix every issue; repair bills, bugs, realism issues, and unfairness alike would disappear instantly after it's implementation. C-RPG would become more popular than Mount&Blade itself, and the developers may even give chadz the rights to the game. chadz would make millions of dollars, generating an income that would counter most major games such as Skyrim or World of Warcraft. I was shocked, I almost didn't want to tell anybody the idea and keep it for myself, but I decided I would be a good samiritan and spill the beans right here, right now. chadz will be one of the head figures of mods and gaming soon, popular in over 70 countries world-wide and it will all be thanks to me and some weed. So hold onto your seats folks, it's going to be a bumpy ride; as you're about to witness the "Greatest Idea That Will Change C-RPG Forever (trademark)".

So, get this. What if besides Multipliers, chadz added Minus Multipliers to the game. For example, if you had a 1x Multiplier and you lost the round, you would then have a -0.5x (or similar) Multiplier which halfs all experience and gold. This "minus multiplier" would continue to grow the more you lose, punishing bad teams and forcing them to try harder to win the game. For one, this would make C-RPG a much more challenging environment with more potential playtime, which is the sort of thing it needs right now to keep people from leaving and keep people joining! Secondly, it would eliminate people who complain about repair bills, because if this feature makes your team try harder and harder to win you'll never lose, you will only gain money! It will also force teams to purchase and use only the most powerful equipment to counter each other, therefore evening the playing field, and so C-RPG could never be unfair again! Last but not least, it would eliminate Leechers completely. Leechers would know that if they do not contribute to the team, they would gain Minus Multipliers and lose money. I also suggest making Minus Multipliers permanent, such as, if you leave to join another game you will keep your -1x or -2x multiplier and continue to lose money every tick. So say goodbye to leechers, goodbye repair bill complainers, goodbye balance issues, goodbye GTXters, and say hello to a great new C-RPG!

Thank you for reading. I hope you all have a nice day in Mount&Blade,
Draulius.

Suggestions Corner / Repair System Need Re-Working
« on: April 28, 2012, 05:46:16 pm »
Today I am here to talk about an issue many of you are all too familiar with. The Repair Bill system. Now, I don't hate the system as a whole, I believe taxing people determined by their gear is a great way to balance the game... if it were done right. However, I have reason to believe the system is sentient and actually has some kind of grudge against me. Let me explain.

First of all, it seems only my two most expensive items ever repair; my shield and weapon. Very rarely ever anything else. On top of that, it does it at the most inconvenient times. No really, the repair system never misses a chance to strike me hard. After a long victorious match it will bill me to repair my two most expensive items again, two times in a row, eliminating all total profits earned from the match just so it can piss me off. Either chadz is controlling the repair system at all times trolling us, it's sentient, or the thing is rigged and he's not telling us how it REALLY works.

It won't leave me alone, and due to this, I am actually losing money even though I only have a 900 gold upkeep. I just want to have fun damn it. The repair bill system has ruined my gaming experience for way too long and I am almost ready to quit, as it was the reason I had quit before... and it seems to have not been fixed at all since then! It wastes countless hours of my time and I'm sick of it. And don't say "You're just a bad player", because I am actually one of the most skilled shielders out there, but I am still losing money!

I heard that it's a 5% chance something is broken every round, but that can't be possible with the results I am seeing. It has to be more like 15% per tick, and that's just not fair (unless you're a bankroller, or a crafter on Strategus, AKA hardly anybody). This system needs to be re-worked again. Same goes for the auto-balancer, it is switching over people all the time every round and greatly lowering the chances of obtaining a multiplier.

Thank you for reading. Have a nice day in Mount&Blade,
Draulius.

Beginner's Help and Guides / Am looking for an evil or despised clan.
« on: April 28, 2012, 03:52:57 am »
Hey guys. After being absent from the game a long time, I am now in need of a new clan, because it's always best to fight as a team! My requirements are a little obscure so bear with me here.

I am looking for the douchiest, most hated, and/or most evil clan out there. This includes a clan that has in the past or currently teamkills, trolls, disrespects others, lies, exploits the game (bugs, poll abuse, overpowered weaponry, unfair advantages), breaks mod/server rules, fights without honor (ex. runs from a battle only to return and stab someone in the back), are selfish, or wouldn't care if another member did any of these things, etc. Basically, just give me a name of the most infamous, despised, or evil clan and I'll happily try and apply to them. I believe that ifamy = power, especially in a challenging and cruel world like Mount&Blade.

Thanks in advance.

Suggestions Corner / Bring Back Free Teamkilling! Remove auto-report!
« on: April 28, 2012, 02:51:48 am »
Ever since the teamhit report system was added, C-RPG has never been the same. Back in the old days of C-RPG, people could teamkill, teamwound, and get away with it. Griefers, Ragers, and Bad players alike could enjoy the game without consequences. But today, we have this stupid auto-report system that prevents us from having that joy. Every day I swear this mod gets stricter and stricter, soon I bet they will start billing you for every arrow you fire. Anyways, since only 5 accidental friendly-fires can get you kicked, bad players are unable to play the game and won't have a chance to get good because they will keep getting booted. Way to kill the community, chadz!

I believe that griefers and teamkillers added entertainment and challenge to the mod. Your team could seemingly be winning, but before you know it, someone named Peasant_Spy starts teamkilling everybody on the team and you barely lose! And that's fun, because for all you knew anyone could be a teamkiller, and you had to keep your eyes peeled; making Mount&Blade also double as a horror/detective game. But you may be saying, "But it's not realistic, or an intentional part of the game to teamkill!". Maybe not at first, but use your imagination; Perhaps the enemy has recruited a spy to strike at your army from within? See, if you just use your head, teamkilling is fun after all! Why should people be banned for roleplaying spies anyways?...That makes no sense, it's just the way people want to play the game and you should respect that instead of forcing people to play the game how YOU want chadz. It's called c-!!>RPG<!! for a reason you know! Another good point I have is if people get bored of the game they can increase their playtime by teamkilling instead of normally playing, this means removing the report system will also increase total player population and playtime! That could be very useful due to all these people quitting as of late (prob cause chadz removed teamkilling.)

I know I can't be the only one who misses these days. I recall this story from a year ago; my team had reached a high multiplier after hours of fighting, slowly gaining back the money they had lost as they began to have the upper hand against the enemy team. But little did they know, that I Draulius, spy for the enemy team; was waiting for the most vulnerable moment to strike. So shortly before the round was over, I killed the last of my remaining teammates and then dropped my weapon and charged at the enemy killing myself! My team was yelling in chat for maybe 15 minutes straight (particularly some Poophammer character, screaming in all caps the whole time, before he later posted he was "taking a long break from c-RPG") while the enemy team was thanking me over and over, voting against any polls to kick me as I continuously killed my teammates until everyone quit the server. Some of the enemy players added me on Steam and donated money to me over Paypal for doing them such a great deed! This means if you allow teamkilling, people can garner had-earned cash to donate to C-RPG! Wow, so not only will bringing back teamkilling increase player population, playtime, and enjoyability, but it will also rake in a good amount of dough! You have no reason to NOT bring teamkilling back now chadz!

So you see, there is great fun to be had with teamkilling, and much of a reason to bring it back. So chadz, if you are reading this, I hope I have touched your black heart and have convinced you to bring back one of the community's most favorite missed features! Thank you for reading and I all hope you have a nice day in Mount&blade.

Beginner's Help and Guides / What Do You Guys Think Of My Equipment?

Tips, comments? It all comes up to around 31k. I have a decent amount of money right now but not a lot. Should I still be able to profit using this gear even though I'm not in a clan?

Thanks in advance.

Game Balance Discussion / Current Upkeep System Doesn't Belong In C-RPG
« on: August 02, 2011, 05:54:22 am »
I think Upkeep should be removed or altered greatly. In it's current state, it does not belong in the game, it's just a flawed and imbalanced feature. It makes matches frustrating, losing & dying not fun, and it makes this game all about luck (whether or not you get the better team, flip a coin. i'm forced to leave matches otherwise). I just can't play anymore because of this, it's not entertaining nor does it improve my gaming experience. I don't want to downgrade or lose my gear just because I put time into into the game, and kept fighting even though I was losing, in fact I should be rewarded for that. We don't deserve this garbage, there's plenty of better alternatives. It's such a chore.

Advancing my character should be fun, but instead it's difficult and hardly possible. I shouldn't have to save my money through 4 generations to be able to even bankroll a full plate armor set. THAT ISN'T FUN, who the heck thought this was a good idea? Remember when C-RPG was laid back and enjoyable? Now we have to put up with this and it ruins the game for many! Trust me, I really tried to get into C-RPG and tolerate this but I can't anymore. This is the reason I quit months ago, and it still remains! Ridiculous.

Other / Unban Request Draulius.
« on: August 01, 2011, 01:11:58 am »
I haven't played C-RPG in months. After returning, I noticed that I'm still banned from NA Battle Community, Siege Community, and Duel Community. I had teamkilled a few times after first starting C-RPG. Doing that sort of thing is far behind me now. I hope this request can be accepted with my promise that I won't do it again.

Thanks in advance!

Closed Requests / Butthole Apology - [UNBAN REQUEST]
« on: July 31, 2011, 02:11:40 pm »
I was just globally banned for hacking into the game, and projecting a close-up image of a man's butthole to hundreds of players in the server. I'd really like to say that I am sincerely sorry for what I did, and also for any of the mental trauma I might have caused. I speak from my heart when I say this; I promise I won't do it again and it was very wrong of me. Please unban me?

Game Balance Discussion / Cavalry Are Still Overpowered
« on: July 31, 2011, 12:53:58 pm »
There's no downside to riding a horse, only an advantage. I don't care if you say that they have high upkeep, most people can afford it anyway, and it's very unfriendly towards newer players. They can knock you down, swarm you and knock you down some more, and then you're just target practice. With good maneuvering their spears are unstoppable no matter what your speed. For an entire game my whole team stood on a hill, and hid around a building just to avoid cavalry. They have way too much influence. Some cavalry even jumped onto the roof of the building, and also killed players on steep hills, which is extremely unrealistic. Cavalry uphill speed & jumps should be heavily nerfed if possible. Currently, not even most strategies can save you (even worse, the cavalry clans are all in vent so they're more difficult, but that's beside the point).

If a mostly-infantry team is against a heavy-cavalry team, then they're always going to die, unless the team gets equal amount of cavalry.  Even then, if the opposite team has somewhat better cavalry, then it's still a loss. This is how my games almost always go, and I'm very tired of it. They're imbalanced and they're forcing me to re-spec my character or go to a low-population server. It's a game-breaker for a lot of us. People can't just become cavalry since it's very expensive, and it isn't a preferred playstyle for some.

So many players complain about cavalry for a reason. Fix them?

Game Balance Discussion / Repair Problems Even After Fix
« on: January 07, 2011, 02:33:05 pm »
The price for repair bills has been greatly lowered. That's cool. But now it occurs much more often, and whether you win or you lose. It might be just me, but I had my items damage like 5 times at and end of a single match 3 times in a row instead of the usual 2 or 1 per round.  Repair happens a LOT now.

Worse,  the auto-balancer continues to balance the players throughout each match, so it's usually teams exchanging wins and losses and I never raise my multiplier as much as I need to cover the repairs and to gain money. I played for hours, with not that great gear, and at the end of the day I had as much as I started with.

It's all about luck now,
Lucky the auto-balance will favor you.
Lucky you won't get bad players.
Lucky your armor won't break often.

What are the chances you'll have that luck?

It's why I neither lost, or gained gold at the end of the day.
It switches between gain gold and lose gold very fast.
Maybe someone would think that's balance. I say it's a waste of time.
Gaining gold, and then losing it. Over, and over, and over.
And tons of repairs one after another non-stop.
Luck has too much influence here.

You'll nearly always have something holding you back. I am tired of having a long streak of wins, just to get unlucky and have about 4 of my items break and lose all the gold I earned...again. They break a LOT, at least one or two after nearly after round.

There has to be something else the developers can do?

Maybe add a gold bonus if you get kills? That way even if you try really hard and lose, your efforts won't be in vain, and you'll still have a way to beat that repair bill even if you don't have a high multiplier.
Maybe set the max amount of items that can break one round to 3, and make it so they're never the same item (hate when that happens).

I am actually losing money now when I wasn't before. I didn't believe that'd be possible, I'm in cheap gear too! What do you guys think?
