Listen man, this is great. It really is. Our community though, does not have the resources to put forward 130k to pay for the game. You guys wanna get an office and get to some real, guided work done developing the game. That's awesome dude and I love the idea. You gotta keep in mind though, this is such a niche community... There's maybe,...maybe...130 of us playing relatively regularly. That's a thousand bucks apiece man. I and I think most of the community want to see this dream move forward but we gotta have ways to help that we are actually capable of achieving. My advice man, would be to start sending out some feelers to taleworlds or another, established, company that you could work with to see this progress. You can put your heart and soul into it and make an excellent game and I am sure you will. The question is whether 1000 people know of it or 10000 people know of it. You need marketing resources, you need connections. Maybe ya'll have already been doing this. Maybe I just sound like a fuckin idiot to ya'll...I don't really know. I do know that I would like to help you. I just can't pay for it. But there's my two cents for you. If you wanna talk business, you may get some good ideas in these forums.

This is a legitimate question I think we should all as a community consider and speak about openly before a move is made by the devs that could result in a lot of people being very pissed off.

About 2/3 of the EU map is owned by UIF. I don't want this to devolve into the same bitter discussions of their tactics, I just want people to consider the fact that the fighting in EU is legitimately coming to a short close. This has always resulted in wipes. NA strat is still highly divided amongst several clans with no official megablocks dominating the entire map. Feifs change hands and the possibility of battles has no predictable end. Now taking this to a logical conclusion would mean that the EU map (which comprises the majority of strat players) will be entirely dominated by a single group. There will be no battles left and accordingly the EU players would be looking for a wipe. This will be happening while the drama and wars and battles are in the midst of flourishing in the NA map.

Us NA players who are in a minority in regards to number of players as well as the favor of most of the devs (as far as I can tell) will, if the devs succumb to the desire for strat battles within the EU majority, have our entire strat session cut short during the prime moments of NA strat. Cut down in its prime.

I don't want this to happen. I don't think it is an issue which many of us have considered, but I do believe it is a legitimate concern for the future of strategus. So I ask, must both NA and EU strats be wiped when the battles run dry for our European friends?

hey folks... Been a little while. Like 6 months actually. So wtf is going on in strat these days? Thought i'd come in and check on things. Its looking like hospi have been wiped off the map so if anyone wants to be a nice guy and fill in my gaps of knowledge as far as "how" is concerned, I would appreciate it. Save me searching through 2000 threads for the info. Plus it'll give ya'll a golden opportunity to bicker, bitch, and moan at each other over irreversable history lessons. Gotta love the drama.

Could I please be accepted into this universal circle jerk now? I too want to forget my former loyalties and grudges and just give peace a chance. We can all have a fresh start yay!

That and my penis is getting really soft right now. Could someone please tell me I'm a nice guy and really popular? We can all love each other and live in blissful harmony hooray! That and it will fix my "personal" problem here.

cRPG Technical problems / I don't know what this means

Trying to download the latest version of Crpg through the newest launcher (7.7) But it is giving me the following error message within the log:

Strategus General Discussion / construction on the strategus map for 4.0

I've got a bit of an idea:

Alot of us are fan of the Total War series of games. Within these games the generals had the option of building forts and watchtowers within their territory. I think this would be a marvelous addition to strategus.

I think if we took the construction sites that are currently available and add the ability, with accumulation of enough of these sites, for a leader of a clan (rank say 8 or above) to collect enough of these sites and have the ability to build a fort or watchtower, it could expand the functions of clans and even factionless people. Say perhaps a fort could have a maximum of lets say 150 soldiers in it. Expand the area that a fort could interact with hero's to lets say 2000 meters. This would allow a fort to protect the borders of a clan. On top of this, allow a watchtower to include up to lets say 20 soldiers and expand its vision to lets say double that of the wandering hero.

These additions would allow members of a clan to forgo patrolling their borders and scouting which would allow them to instead focus on crafting or recruiting soldiers. There have been many complaints that the pace of the game in 3.0 is too slow. These improvements would allow the economies and armies of strat to expand more quickly thus increasing the pace of the game as a whole.

This is the basic concept.

A more ambitious and I'm sure more time-consuming goal that could be an eventual result of this would be to start cannabalizing the nature of the native campaign's rpg functions as far as the skill sets are concerned. Eventually make it so that engineering could be a requirement to build one of these sites. Make it so that Leadership is a requirement for larger armies, so that prisoner management could allow a portion of a conquered army to survive under the control of the victors. This could allow many more diplomatic intrigues such as paying to recover the tickets that are prisoners of the victors, or the victors, with enough persuasion skill to convince them, or bribe them to join the victors.

The reason why I have enjoyed this game for so very long is because I recognized how expansive the possibilities of this game truly are. This I believe is an idea that could be implemented and could lead to much greater possibilities.

Anyone know how many meters are in a pixel? And as far as I've heard the pace of movement was changed from 1 pixel per minute to .25 pixels per minute correct? and could anyone tell me the pace if those figures are not correct?

Game Balance Discussion / A suggestion for cavalry

I favor cavalry for the NA servers. This means that I use a heavy lance. This weapon is very effective on horseback. I've recently retired and loomed my destrier once again to become cavalry again. I would like to use the same equipment as I had in my previous generation. This included a bec de corbin. at lvl 30 i had something like 130 wpf in poles, and about 100 in 1handers. I was able to use a shield while deploying my lance. However, when dehorsed I was left with the lance in hand and a 1 hand weapon that I did not prefer and that I had a lower WPF in. My only real concern lies with the fact that a heavy lance is both unsheathable, and takes up two of four available slots. The nature of this weapon and the necessity of a lance while on horseback and not having enough money to afford a plated charger and armor to allow me to go 1 hand cav build forced me in my previous build to sacrifice the use of my bec on cav maps in favor of a 1h weapon. All this in order to be able to carry a shield. Anyone who has played cav in NA servers knows that you immediately become a target for enemy archers and the shield is indespensable. I would like to be able to make my new gen character have the ability to carry a shield and lance as a package and still have a viable melee polearm. At the moment I believe only the lower level battle fork (forgot its name) is a one slot weapon. There are three simple solutions that would allow me to use my bec and still use a lance on horseback. Option A: drop the shield. Granted this would free up a couple skill points, it would basically guarantee a quicker death with the amount of archers we're seeing in NA servers these days. Especially since they just recently got rebuffed. Option B: Use the Bec from horseback. The length of the bec and the nature of playing against other cavalry and longer poles/2h's makes this unfeasible. And I do not know if you can use a shield while wielding the bec from horseback. Gut feeling is telling me no. Option B: By some miracle, if the lance were switched to consuming only one slot. This is obviously my favorite. However, it also makes the most sense in my mind. It is still considered unsheathable. Its not a viable weapon in melee. The current system forces dedicated cavalry such as myself to split their WPF into both poles and 1h causing performance to suffer with both in melee as a result. This results in the class which I enjoy playing being viable dependant solely on the map. Plus it just seems more realistic anyway. You're tellin me that a horseman couldn't carry his lance in one hand, a shield in the other, and a viable weapon on the back? once on the ground, the lance is gonna get tossed. It shouldn't be both 2 slotted and unsheathable.

Opinions please?
