A turkish friend of mine has a friend that has a buddy from university that works at Taleworlds. They're pushing for August this year he says.
Isn't concept art usually done at games early stages?yeah, but who says you can't hold it back
I don't know why but for some reason I am mad that there is a manlet on a horse. I mean, look at him.

Yeah I thought the game was taking so long because they were working on actually, you know, making the game good. Not sure why these shitty animations are anything to make an announcement about, it kind of makes me worried that if this is such a huge thing for them that they think it's announcement worthy, they haven't made much more progression than what we've already seen lol. Seriously, who gives a shit if the NPCs are going to shake their head at you or smile, that's a nice bit of fluff but it's not article worthy.Well since they've committed themselves into posting a devblog every week, it's no surprise we are going to see some amount of filler stuff.
All I can say that diseases are confirmed for Bannerlord, here is my speculation how it will most likely be in Bannerlord. (I am really sure).
Possible diseases in Bannerlord:
Black Death/Plague (confirmed)
If diseases are confirmed to affect towns that can be visited by players that also confirms that they actually plan to release the game at some point.
HYPE
Its becoming probable now, you should be proud like a Nostradamus.NostraJameus
I really regret making those 2020 bannerlord jokes now
That's pretty sad, mayn. I thought it would be out by now. Would have loved playing it tbh.
list of people who still care about banner lord in current year:
You forgot my name.
it's fairly forgettable, isn't it?

Siege and more objective game modes seems fine. Battle is a garbage anyway.no it's not, I would pick battle server first, tdm 2nd then seege

While he doesn't mention the standard battle mode directly, I think that gif you posted is pretty close to a confirmation of its existence. What other mode he described would have a master of the field flag to raise? Odds are he just mentioned the new stuff and neglected to mention the old, as it is probably mostly unchanged from warband.yeah you are probably right, at least I hope so.
Those are bots fighting each other, r-right?

Lately, I don't get to write much code at all and instead most of my time is spent preparing our internal playtests, monitoring the sessions, gathering feedback from the participants and planning for the next test. And the engine has been finalized for release a while ago, which means that they're done with optimization, which is the last step in game development. Seems as if they're only working on playtesting now. It's summer/autum this year, mark my words.
Battle is a garbage anyway.

From what I'm reading on the taleworlds forum, it's a similar situation to OKAM, with the devs only testing internally and not getting the competitive scene involved at all. Hopefully I'm wrong, I do wonder if anyone at taleworlds even understands their own game's meta, though. Look how slow that long axe right swing is in the gif, literally looks like a WotR animation too. Is that whole gif slowed down or something?
OK, no more speculation. Putting it out of mind for yet another 6 years. Fingers crossed it's at least a good single player game.
FYI: I wanna upvote this, however you ain't getting a single one from me so long as you have some weab shit as your avatar.
until someone makes me a dank avatar...
nothin' personnel. I'm sticking with this until someone makes me a dank avatar...
Did they say anything about a closed or open beta yet?
Looks good. Was about to comment on how dumb people are in the Steam comment section, but of course the dumbness is sponsored by cRPG players.Well at least I wasn't there clamoring for a release date, or I am going to die before this game releases, or my grandkids might get to play this. :P
Asheram 6 minutes ago
old system= less arrows= less range? new system = more arrows= more? Yes thats what this game needs is more ranged.
Single player campaign is not ready that's the latest rumour, and it doesn't look like they will finsh it anytime soon.Only bad players ever used macros, and only bad players had issues with them.
I'm pretty sure that hordes of Phyrex clones will hate Bannerlord, different animations, not much feinting, some sort of weapon physics... macros dead.

^ that looks so arcadey. It reminds me of chivalry, which is not a good thing. It supposed to have been made by either ex chivalry devs or players(dont know how players would get chivalry code though) and supposed to address problems they saw in chivalry. But everything seems to be battle royale these days so it might succeed.

1st person fov seems to much... maybe it will feel better while playing, but watching sbdy else play gives me cancer.I saw one video that the person was playing it in 3rd person, maybe they scrapped that part though.
does that randomly happen or when you get hit on the hands? May be realistic, but I don't think it's a fun mechanic on a long term
I haven't played it for a few months, but iirc it used to happen when you tried to block without stamina. The release date was supposed to be this month but got pushed do you know how far?
@asheram, it does still have third person view, it's obviously designed to be played in first person, though. I think the official servers are going to be FPP only. FPP was much better for duels in this game anyway, easier to follow animations and time chambers etc
It's basically just a "polished" version of Chivalry from what I can tell. I'm not a huge fan, but it does have an interesting meta with all the attack dragging you can do. Similar to Warband in the sense that a good player can get on the duel server and go 40-0, it's definitely skill based with clearly defined tiers. I'd try to get into it, but as usual, the aus servers are empty. Might change when the game releases, MIGHT

its going to be so good.
I can't decide whether R.G. Mechanics is being delusional or that they have inside information and the release is actually closeI asked on steam as well and someone replied saying it was old. Somehow I just missed this particular trailer. It probably just got reposted for clicks.
I cant even load the gifIts in the latest blog.
Our grandkids are sure to be in for a treat.

bannerlord-is-finally-getting-a-closed-beta
Hey but at least now the release date comes up if you google it.(click to show/hide)
After this stage of closed beta tests, our plan is to transition to an open beta, meaning a large number of players will be able to access the game and be involved in the testing process. When that time comes, we will make an announcement detailing how you can apply to take part.
"The game is far from feature and content complete"they said that 9 years ago aswell, they just dont want to get a shitstorm once the testing begins
Well yeah, they said that 9 years ago as well and are still saying it, can't wait for 2030
Newest devblog mentions there will be no gear choosing, only predefined classes. Which is dumb, getting rid of customization for some cheaply done balance... anyway let TW know how shit it is here: https://forums.taleworlds.com/index.php/topic,385286.msg9132717.html#msg9132717
The game having mods requires it to actually release which at this point seems questionable
For van
For vanilla multiplayer? That's an improvement in my eyes, makes the multiplayer easier to balance and more fit for the competitive scene (and you can still customize with cosmetic armor), the equipment system in vanilla warband mp didn't work well, too wobbly. Crpg is pretty close to being impossible to balance thanks to that, but that's also the point why we love it so much: infinite customization of armors and builds
You don't need to force complete loadouts to have decent balance... you can just as easily tune weapon stats and weapon costs and disallow certain broken combinations.Yup. Mordhau is a great example. There is no single "overpowered loadout", because the weapons in general are balanced, and they cost the right amount. A long reach, high-damage weapon means your armor is going to be limited, etc. If you want a bow, you won't have enough points for decent armor or a decent melee weapon. There's no reason Bannerlord couldn't do something similar.
Some classes are clearly stronger and better equipped than others
Some of our game modes feature a respawn system, so how you manage those points throughout the course of a round will determine which classes you have access to
With these changes, the entire focus of the gameplay is put onto player skill and teamwork, rather than whoever has the superior equipment or loadout. We think these changes will go a long way in preventing a snowball effect, in which the winning team just gets stronger with each consecutive round win. In Bannerlord, every round starts on a somewhat level playing field, which should provide for a more exciting back and forth between the two teams throughout the course of a match.
