Title: A Criticisim and Comment: Perhaps a Good Advice?
Post by: Lt_Anders on November 25, 2014, 01:29:05 am
A comment from a Forum I frequent(very, very small)

Quote
So mount and blade plus some minecraft and strategy elements looks good overall as it seems to be out to combine the best of both worlds which i can see the gameplay of mount and blade playing out in a truly sandbox world makeing for a great gaming experience.

There are all kinds of possibilities arising from you starting out as a random guy with only some starter gear and through going through intense action rpg combat and taking part in resource collection and crafting and building which eventually leads to you having a full fledged fiefdom with an army that you built from the ground up and you can personally interact with sounds like a great game concept or just striking of by yourself wondering the world acquiring powerful weapons and armors and leveling up and taking part in many battles of various kinds the world over is also a fun alternative.

The thing that really turns me off is that construction stuff it may just be placeholder or only take place under certain conditions but just clicking a button for a short amount of time and up goes a massive building that would take at the very least days to build seems completely wrong.

Don't know how much is comments or criticisms that you guys can take from this, but this is from a WAY left field response.

What's the problem?  People have opinions, do you expect to please everyone?

Lord have mercy, troll.

The point is it shows someone who knows little to NOTHING of the game's mod and what they are trying to achieve, and how he would react. To much rose tinted glasses around here, so a possible comment that shows something "different" is what needs to be brought up. These comments should be looked at and reviewed if the points are valid.

People who commented on my thread said that animations are weird and that actual swordfighting is more complex than that. They think Mount and Blade is a shitty game as well.

I'm not sure he realizes this is multiplayer only?

Yeah Leshma, have seen that in some threads too. I think it's fair to say those guys just aren't the target audience.

On buildings going up really fast, yeah, I probably agree it would be cooler and if they rose slowly, giving them a sort of importance like wonders in AoE, but without having tried the mode, idk.
