I can only encourage everyone who doesn't have it yet to get Borderlands 2 and the Season Pass. You'll never get a better "shooter-rpg" with that kind of value ever again! :D

Just check the trailer for the latest add-on which is included in the Season Pass <3

You can get Bioshock Infinite cheaper on GMG that comes with steam code apparently. GMG20-F202F-UI40F code should give -20% on top of that so about £12 there : http://www.greenmangaming.com/

BTW as usual with steam sales, wait for stuff to come on daily deal before you buy. If it doesn't go on a 1 day deal then get it on the last day. Will work out cheaper

Rubbish sale so far. And what's all this card and badge business? Where are my free games, Gaben? This shit is definitely not miraculous. Don't let me down.

I get lots of errors so I cant check the game's details.. what does a Season Pass mean after all?

Season Pass = Bundled DLC (all dlc currently available + usually all future DLC) at a discounted price.

If any games that are on the flash sale or daily deal they WILL NOT get cheaper. If a game has not gone on flash sale or daily deals wait till the last day.

Bolded just for others to see, and also letting you know. If you want it I'd buy it now.

Get a wired 360 controller and the DSfix mod for Dark Souls for it to be playable. It's a great PC game if you have those 2 things. If you want a really challenging Action RPG with good atmosphere, I highly recommend it.

I can give you Bioshock Infinite + Tomb raider (both Steam keys) if you buy me a copy of "War for the overworld"

At the moment Bioshock infinite  (discounted by 50%) costs  24,99 € (Euros) and Tomb Raider also costs 24,99€  (disconunted by 50% too)
(click to show/hide)
(click to show/hide)

War for the overworld  costs 20,99€
(click to show/hide)

Basically if you buy me a 20,99€ game i give you 2 games that are  worth 49,98€ ,   you will save 28,99 €

I also have Crysis3 and Far Cry 3: Blood Dragon keys to trade, but those aren't steam keys, Crysis 3 is activable via "Ea Origin" client and Far Cry3: Blood dragon must be downloaded from Ubishop site  http://shop.ubi.com/FC3BDAMD  , according to Ea site Crysis 3 alone costs 54.90€

I trade 2 keys (choose 2 games, whatever you want) for 1 War for the overworld copy.  I'm reliable, you won't be disappointed , my Steam nick is: Alpson

you are really bad trader
Title: Re: Steam summer sale.
Post by: Radament on July 12, 2013, 01:25:57 pm
djavo i'd make the trade if i haven't Bioshock:Infinite yet but i played it and it's awesome , tomb raider is nice too apparently by metascores and comments , i vouch for Alpson even if it's a bad trader.
Just buy him that crappy (maybe not crappy but a Dungeon Keeper clone) game and you get 2 rencent A games for it (and tradable).

Natural Selection 2. FPS with some RTS elements in it for the commander of each team.
Just look it up. Rated pretty highly.

Also, I got Hunted: The Demon’s Forge, anyone wanna trade for it?

I never had any trouble with it on high graphics.

NS2 is a very fun game, you should all get it if you like that kind of thing.

Also agreed that NS is a great game, i would however suggest avoid playing it during free weekends, or sales.

Since there are RTS elements people who don't know any better try and hop in the commander and completely screw your team by not knowing wtf they are doing AND not caring. Other than that once you learn the game it is really fun to play.

I tried it with VSync and my fps dropped a lot all the time (less than 50 fps). Does it run better without vsync?

BTW, I played it last week.

Yeah, the plague of noob comms during the free weekend was nothing short of excruciating. Being new to commanding is one thing, everyone has to learn, but getting in the chair without bothering to find out even the most basic things about the game first? That's just being an asshole, no two ways about it. I get that people want to test all the different parts of the game during the trial, but for fuck's sake, at least check the tutorials. Free weekends are still worth it because they get new people to buy in, but for the old players it's a nightmare.

I tried it with VSync and my fps dropped a lot all the time (less than 50 fps). Does it run better without vsync?

How should I know? I never tried, since as I said, I never had any problems.

Yeah NS was great and being the commander is also good fun. But do agree with okin. Be prepared for a lot of noob commanders and losing the game a fair amount at first.

O and could play it fine on highest settings.
Title: Re: Steam summer sale.
Post by: B3RS3RK on July 12, 2013, 06:51:12 pm
I didnt really like NS2 at all. It´s a game that only becomes fun if you are in a good team - which happens way too rarely to justify the frustration and antifun you experience while playing with morons.

The last time I got a replacement one sent they failed to give me a working pin with it, and for whatever idiotic reason I couldn't set a new one over the phone or in person so I wound up just shredding it and saying fuck the whole plastic scene. Third card's a charm though, right?

In order to use paypal, even though I have money IN MY PAYPAL ACCOUNT from my checking account, I still HAVE TO have a debit or credit card attached to my account in case "you can't afford the transaction" or some dumb bullshit. I don't trust myself with plastic TBH, and I don't want it.

It has potential. But it's far too shallow. Anyone who has played c-RPG or any Warband extensively will wreck shit on that game. I unlocked everything in like 2 days and felt no challenge or motivation to play after. Really sucks to, was so hyped for it. But hey, at least you only blew 6 bucks on it.

I personally like Chivalry. It has a nice arcadey feel where crpg and warband can sometimes be a bit more serious. Probably because of the skill difference. Chivalry is a good hack and slash and personally if I have like 30mins-1 hour to spare I'd rather play that than crpg.

Bought:

× Surgeon Simulator
× McPixel
× Endless Space
× Strike Suit Infinity
× Sid Meier's Civilization V: Gold Edition
× You Need A Budget (thought I'd see what the fuss is about)

The only one I regret is Strike Suit Infinity.

I can 100% recommend FTL: Faster Than Light -- Really cool indie space-sim, came off Kickstarter with $200,542 pledged of an original just $10,000 goal.
It has great depth, had many hours of fun trying the various ships and systems you can level, working through the many hidden "quests". Still not done

FTL sells for a mere €2.49 at the moment.

Else I agree with Kafein, not many interesting things around. Pondered about buying the new Hitman when it was on flash sale but meh, I'd never get around to play it anyway.

Hitman is really nice. It was worth the 50€ at release imo, I already played about 30 hours. Of course Hitman: Blood Money was a far better deal as I played it for about 30 hours as well but paid less than 10€. :D

I picked up Borderlands 2 but I'll only play casually I guess. I'm not much into shooters.

Well, I already own it for ps3, only reason I'd buy it is for PvP and I've heard some iffy things from people who play it on PC. Plus my gamepad is broken and I don't really wanna spend the money to get a new one just to play the game. But if it gets that cheap again I'll probably give in and buy it.

Think I'm gonna buy Borderlands 2. 10$ and it's pretty fun.

EDIT: Also, probably a good choice Gristle. Played a bit of Remember Me and it was pretty meh. Maybe for like 10$, 30$? Nah.

If by "iffy" you mean cheaters being able to ruin your character when they invade...then yes, that does happen on the PC version.  I own it on both the PS3 and the PC and I strongly recommend not buying it for the PC.  It looks nicer and it's moddable but the community is much worse.

Ruin your character? Never heard of that. It is easier to cheat on PC. You'll invade someone and they'll suddenly have infinite health. This is possible because GFWL is complete shit. Hopefully DS2 will have better anti-cheat stuff.

Well unless it gets ridiculously cheap I think I'll hold off on it. I only play it for PvP so I don't like the idea of PvP being so risky or full of cheaters.

On another note, bought Borderlands 2 + The Season Pass for 20$, pretty content with that purchase.

Nope. Tried the mod in the old days and was instantly bored. Not going to spend money on that one... Monaco on the other hand...

Both are good games but NS2 is the better deal and so the logical choice.

Ruin your character? Never heard of that. It is easier to cheat on PC. You'll invade someone and they'll suddenly have infinite health. This is possible because GFWL is complete shit. Hopefully DS2 will have better anti-cheat stuff.

Yeah, they can use cheat-engine to become the host after they invade.  They can then use cheat-engine to modify their stats which will apply to you as well since you are also the host.  So you'll probably end up losing a lot of stat investment but your soul level will remain the same.  Pretty much borks the character when they do this.

It's true! BUT! But, everyone played it already :) Is there honestly a single person in the WORLD, who would wait all this time to finally play it for 3 Euro?.. Either you bought it for full price back in the days, bought it one of the countless times it was on sale, or had a "torrent version"...

I have more money on my wallet before the sale, as i sold an assload of them steam-cards, whatever that shit is :) Earned 2,97 Euro on that mfcker! Nerds these days are raging so hard - they need to level up in Steam! WTF?! :)

I must be missing something...

meh I sold cards to buy enough to craft one badge. All card money made was spent on more cards. Honestly, 0.20 per card at best, sometimes isn't really worth it to sell. Making the badges and getting game discounts is worth way way more 8-)

So far:

Expeditions: Conquistador
Sleeping Dogs
Mark of the Ninja
Max Payne
Max Payne 2
Max Payne 3
Dishonored

And I don't even have time to play singleplayer games these days. All my time is spent in War Thunder, Baldur's Gate, Icewind Dale and Endless Space. Or at work. Or at parties :( / :)

I decided to pass this one cuz I don't think the setting is sexy. Arabic world was cool, Italy was interesting, New World not so much...

I might get Black Flag on release instead for a similar price at some key seller. Pirates are sexy again :D but thanks for the the tips, it actually helped me to decide! Appreciate it...

Kinda, yea. If you craft the badge FOR THAT GAME, you can get a discount coupon for another game or for a future DLC.

What do I get when I craft a badge from my Trading Cards?
In addition to getting the Game Badge itself, you'll get:

    a random emoticon item created for this game, that can use in chat or discussions;
a random profile background item created for this game, that can use on your Steam Community profile
a chance to get a discount coupon for a different game or DLC
100XP, which may increase your Steam Level

If your Steam Level increases, the limit on the size of your friends list will be increased by five, and potentially you'll unlock the ability to customize your profile with showcases.

Yeah the setting was it's flaw. The cities and towns are majorly boring when compared with the others and though they tried to make up for it with the scenery, there's only so much pre-set paths along trees I could take. I was quite glad of the ability to fast travel so I could skip all the stuff in between. The story continuation was great though and the sea battles were just sexy. I'd definitely get Black Flag based on just those.

You get steam cards by playing certain steam games - you only get half of the cards required for the badge by playing the game - you have to trade for the rest, or buy them off steam market. Cards are over time added to new steam games as well - it started only with Half-life 2, Dota 2, CS:GO and Portal. Badges in the end basically just give you visual stuff for your steam profile - you don't lose anythiny by not crafting them.

Except a bit of your soul.  Seriously you have to pay money to get a card which you craft into a badge which gives you a shiny token for your account.  Valve are turning into right money grubbing cunts.

You don't need to pay for a card. You can trade cards you get from other games, or sell enough of them on the market to buy cards for one badge of a specific game. Of course you'll not be able to complete all badges for the games you have, but you should be able to complete up to 50% badges without paying.

Of course from Valves perspective this is tax money on Steam market trades, but I wouldn't call them money grubbing cunts because of that, considering how much more greedy a company can get (EA) and how you actually gain nothing from steam trading cards, just visual stuff.

Last day of summer sale and I can't transfer money from my card to my visa..... fuck me :(

I skipped dishonored and tomb raider thinking they would be cheaper after a few days but nope, there's also gta 4 I've been tempted to buy (For the mods mostly not for the game itself lol) and again I lost the chance to get black ops 2 on 50% off as I was hoping for 66% or 75% off on it meh. (I only want it for the zombie mode not to play matches online)

Anyways this summer sale I barely bought anything as there were few good deals and always the same 5 shit repeating or games no one would buy.

I got:
Deadlight - Which started good then went bad.
Amnesia - I already beat the game (Ehem pirated) this time I bought it for reals and for the custom stories hehe.

That's it lol.

New vegas sucks imo.

(Flame me away I preferred fallout 3.This shitty vegas has invisible walls that block you from reaching certain places, a confusing/boring crafting system, I didn't get attached to the story unlike fallout 3 as this one is bland imo and there are far too many guns you start with when you buy the ultimate edition which will make the game boring fast)
Title: Re: Steam summer sale.

Really? I had just the opposite experience, Fallout 3 never really pulled me in or immersed me. I tried so hard to get into because I loved the idea of it, but could never get into it.

New Vegas on the other hand, got the ultimate edition at last year's Summer Sale, one of the best deals I've ever gotten imo. Have so many hours in that game, story pulled me in. And then all the expansions  + mods = hundreds of hours

Picked up Dark Souls, CS:GO, Borderlands 2, Fallout 3, and Deus Ex all for under $25. Was still a bit disappointed with this sale however, seemed like all these games had been on sale before, and trading cards are a silly idea.

Total haul:

Expeditions: Conquistador
Sleeping Dogs
Mark of the Ninja
Max Payne
Max Payne 2
Max Payne 3
Dishonored
Walking Dead
Thomas Was Alone

Already finished Sleeping Dogs. Was alright, I guess. Same old, same old, really. Currently working on Thomas Was Alone (at work with my laptop) and Mark of the Ninja. Out of that list, anyway.

GoG Summer Sale haul was:

BG2
IWD I&II
PS:T
Nox

Lovely to finally own my own copies of these games(except Nox, which I own as a CD, but doesn't work anymore :( ). Currently playing Baldur's Gate solo and IWD co-op.

Overall, too many games, too little time.

I just couldn't get into New Vegas the way I was able to get into Fallout 3.  Same with Skyrim and Oblivion...liked Oblivion a lot better (even though New Vegas and Skyrim had some nice updated features).

I was going to get tomb raider for $13, but I forgot it was only on sale for like another hour yesterday and missed the chance, now it's back up to like 40 or 50.

I did get Under the Ocean for $2.50 (Survival/crafting) but it's still pretty early on in the game development (or so they claim, it looks like they've been doing beta for almost a year), and there's really not a lot you can do in the game.
