Title: Persistent World problems
Post by: Algarn on January 27, 2013, 07:35:22 pm
I don't know if you have ever played PW , but that's shit . Why ?

For example , I got perma banned because I saved a poor peasant who was being robbed by 2 noobishs , I taken a falchion , and I chopped them , and ... they gone QQ at this fucking admin as kids.  Other example , my bro was guard in a village , and a full plated nub was randoming everyone , he killed him , and he got a ban , (that was an admin) .

This game is shit because admins are assholes corrupted , and I hope that's won't be same in the epic ...

That's what I never understood about PW - making admins force players to play in a certain way will never work. It's like forcing people in multiplayer to behave like scripted NPCs.

But Epic and PW will be vastly different anyway.

The only place for admins in epic will be to stop people go heavy OOC insulting, legally forbidden stuff (chocolate chip cookie, etc) and heavy exploiting.

Ahh loved PW back in its glorydays. But the mod is shit cause people are shit...and cause the framerate is just bad even to those having a PC composed by Jesus himself will be fighting in a screen compsed of slides. But yea, the admins are corrupted like hell, cause I sorta know how PW adminrecruitment works and its just laughable. PW did have potential back in the day, but the newer the version got the more boring it became.

That's what I never understood about PW - making admins force players to play in a certain way will never work. It's like forcing....

Well people are shit you know.... Its extremely difficult to get a sandboxgame like that even partially playable for most without some godlike superpower helping them. Even slightest bit of RP would immediately dissapear without the intervention of those lamers called admins. Spawnraping is common thing for ruining the game for most people.

I remember playing on a 22nd PW server which was one of the only decent and populated ones, there were rules not to spawn kill yet one of the 22nd members who I found out was some little italian kid, was spawn killing everyone as they spawned with no weapons. I spawned elsewhere and got a weapon, so I went and killed him, then he respawns, gets another weapon, attacks me and I kill him again, then I got banned from the 22nd server for 'spawn killing', lol.

I played more recently, well it was a little while ago and whilst it has improved, it is still pretty boring and burdened with too many lame rules, spawning without full health if you have a class capable of fighting well is also fucking retarded and boring.

Yep rules and admins always suck ((
All the prohibitions and penalties should be regulated by game mechanics and not by players with admin powa  :D

recently tried to play in the PW as a bandit.
on the my way to mine with rich miners I saw the following picture:
Dead peasant, next outlaws(O) in black armor and administrator(A).

A - Why did you kill him
O - I demand 1k gold, he did not give me so I just killed him
A - Do yu asked how much gold he has? mb he had no such amount?
Me - Close and remove mod

Yeah this is a great example of why most of the gameplay related stuff should be regulated by game mechanics, not admins

I remember once we were playing pw together with lots of people from nditions ts and we were owning the server and admins were around and stuff then some of the byzantiums or maybe bjord i dont remember called one of the admins idiot or something on ts and we laughed and then that admin was on ts heard us laughing and calling him names and perma banned some of us from the pw such a silly admin he was i dont remember who what is then we had an argument with the admin told him you cant do shit like this spying on ts what we are talking and banning us in game grow up and he banned more people and we stopped playing.

PW Sucks.

The biggest problems with PW are the performance issues, the small maps limited by warband engine and poor admins.
The tiny maps also contribute to randoming being so easy and to admins having too much power. When lots of people are confined
to a small area, distances are short and randoming becomes quick and easy, which gives admins more power to keep the order.

The mod also suffers from the lack of proper introduction. The base game's nature being aggressive medieval combat simulator, many newcomers
might assume the mod's nature to be the same. They might not read the instructions in the welcome message and just jump into to the mod
thinking that everything goes.

I've had many good moments with PW, but these issues are constant and greatly restrict the gameplay and bother my full enjoyment, which is why
I've given up playing the mod for a while.

Pw mod is full of retards
It ought to get killed by a nuke
Its only fun within a group of familiars, as soon as you get to interact with a randomer, it gets random.
