It didn't worked too...but as i added crpgLauncher over the button "Add A GAME" (at the end of the games-list), it works.
Earlier i added the crpglauncher over the tab "games" on top of the games-list, it didn't worked.

I don't know about this difference.

Didn't work for me, then ran steam as an administrator and it was all good, told some other guys the same and they've had the same success.

How to run steam as administrator:
http://www.sevenforums.com/tutorials/11841-run-administrator.html

How to add the cRPGlauncher as a non-steam game:

    Launch Steam.
Click the Games menu, choose Add a Non-Steam Game to My Library.
Browse for games on your computer or put a check next to the game(s) you wish to add to the Library.
    Click Add Selected Programs

You can also rename the 'cRPGlauncher.exe' in your Steam library once you've added it: Right click, select "Properties" and type a new name in the name field. I called it "Mount & Blade: Warband cRPG".

Does this mean I have to run Steam as Admin all the time or just for the "Create Shortcut"-part?  :?

Sooo if you dont have to run steam to start crpg its basically like a crack now?

i mean if you would download warband  not legally you could still start crpg atm?

I can confirm that starting Steam as Admin and then adding crpg launcher as non-steam game brings back the Steam Overlay w/o the sacrifice of WSE.

Thanks for the tip ;) Appreciate it!

This only works for the Steam version. I can't do it with the Amazon version, therefore I cannot run my game on launcher, resulting in many script errors.

It works with my taleworlds version

What did you do? I have the Steam and Amazon version, but if I use the Steam version I have to change my CD key every time I start up the game, which is why I use the Amazon version.

I bought mine from taleworlds.  All I did was add the launcher to steam as a non-steam game, and bam, it works with the overlay perfectly.

Well it asks me every time I use the launcher whether I want to use the Steam or non-Steam version.

is your launcher in ..\mountblade warband\Modules\cRPG ?
that worked for me with taleworlds and steam version.

Try deleting the mount & blade registry's and re-click mount & blade warband on steam for it to recreate them.
Type regedit into the windows search. Current user, software, MountAndBladeWarbandKeys. Don't know if that will help lol.

I have win 8
cRPG starts with steam but only in launcher
After clicking 'Play cRPG' it stops working with steam :(
I'm playing with WSE2

running crpg/steam as administrator done nothing

found crpg_beta.exe but I can't add it to steam because its not running without launcher

I even tried running without WSE2, but its not working neither

so, after playing with the crpg launcher for 2 years I was like "I need those friggin ingame hours for epeen".
I just took a quick look into the mnb-Folder and realized - not for the first time tbh, since there have been like 3 patches of the main exe in the last 2 years that didnt affect crpg - that wse doesnt use the mb_warband.exe thats tracked by steam, but instead the mb_warband_old.exe.
so you can actually just delete (ofc make a backup first) the mb_warband.exe and rename crpglauncher.exe (if its in the same folder, the main warband folder) to mb_warband.exe - until the next warband update that is.
or disable autoupdates on steam to stay save.
well, atleast if you dont play any other warband mods and never touch singleplayer again...

so yeah. dont ask me why I didnt think about that earlier, its just too obvious tbh

tl:dr: if you're fine with just playin crpg and want crpg hours through the launcher to add up on your warband steam epeen, rename the crpglauncher.exe to mb_warband.exe (if your launcher is in the main mnb-folder

edit: I actually just got my first steam trading card for mnb by launching crpg, so even more epeen...
edit2: it also screws with crpglauncher updates, so rename back and forth for those...

Same for me in xFire so I tried around and made this working again:
(click to show/hide)

//edit:
Just noticed: when u use the upstanding version to get crpg playing with mount&blade:warband on steam u have to use a different path and exit so I updated it in case for this here.. (english sucks, yeah sry for that it works so be happy).

It is opening with steam (shows that you are playing M&B), but right after you click 'Play cRPG' its not on steam anymore
At least here, on win8 :(
It's the same like I wrote earlier with adding non-steam game

The thing that works is opening launcher two times (on first click 'play crpg' then alt+tab and open launcher again - from steam after using your idea)

hm, weird...
sadly I cant help you with that behaviour, my little "hack" works fine on win7...
just one more reason not to upgrade I guess

Wow.  Now doubly thankful I bought Warband at Taleworlds and not Steam so I can avoid this crap

I can't get the overlay to work with Windows 8.1 and I've tried everything.

After spending like an hour on this, I tried Spleen's hack, and it works. Windows 8.1.

Yeah, but that's for tricking Steam into thinking you are playing Mount & Blade: Warband, not cRPG. I want the overlay with cRPGLauncher (my non-steam game shortcut), like I had on Windows 7 without issues.

When I launch the shortcut, Friends says I am playing cRPGLauncher, but, as soon as the launcher is closed and the game is launched, Friends says I'm not playing anymore and so I can't use the overlay.

I got the overlay in the game, not only the launcher.

However, when I tried again today, the game crashed when I connected to a server, and now the overlay no longer works. I'll experiment some more and see if I can figure it out.

*EDIT* My installation somehow became corrupt (missing .dlls). After I repaired it and tried to redo the hack, it no longer enabled the overlay. So I am conceding for now.

Got windows 7.

If I add the normal launcher it says I'm paying c-rpg when I start. But when I press c-rpg it goes back to a normal "online" status.

Plis send into aid.
I've read so far that I need to rename my mount and blade.exe ? as it uses the mount and blade old.exe?
