A gladitorial league - Does any one even want to?

So with tournament well under way and soon the clan tournament as well (hope for sign-up monday) my small brain got me thinking.
I really enjoyed the activity and cross community thing the tournament have made and at the same time I was watching the soft-core porn flick called spartacus sand and blood and the gods of the arena thingy. Whatever the case I was wondering if anyone could be interested in creating a league of gladiators? This would severely restrict weapons, shields and helmets (no armor) maybe boots and gloves? dunno.
To participate the player must be able to afford his own equipment and only use the equipment of the gladitorial class he signed up for. As it is a league everyone will have a match against one another (best out of 5 to limit randomness).
To make things even better we can maybe ask someone to make a very small arena for us... like the ones you see in both rome and Spartacus... we are talking 10m wide and broad something like that... for very close, personal and violent encounters.
The classes that I can think of with the eq we have so far is:
Shortsword, Buckler and Barbute (maybe milaneese sallet or sallet with visor).
Battlefork and ????
what more "classes" could we create and does it have any interest at all?

It would be better if we had some actual classical era equipment for this. Gladius, Thracian sword, Legion armor and even more importantly, shield.
I guess we could make do with what we have. You could add spear-like throwing weapons and blunts to the list, barmace excluded of course.
Count me in, of course.

I also suggest that u make regular gladiator events, where all gladiators can fight at the same time (say in 1 day). And chadz could give out bonuses for the top gladiators. (such as unbreakable sword:) )
Also, please make sure there is a crowd watching, and as many ladies as possible. :rolleyes:
