Yes, but we can just set up forward spawns outside of the castle.  The only reason I need a castle is for the free population and points to loom up armor and the item of the day.

For me village fights are the best, mostly close spawn point and not overwhelming advantage for the defense

And cav can't run as much of a train on the poor infantry as on open plains, while still remaining effective.
