Okay, I'm an asshole and haven't read any of the topic (only 3 pages, so lazy) other than the first post, so pardon if any of this has been mentioned. I'm just going to type them out as I notice things.

I like the clear visual representation....

Dang, you know I had planned on adding a 'repair all' button and totally forgot. I kept out the "save loadout" button because I've been working on a web based drag-and-drop inventory using some jquery scripts so that when you drop a weapon into/out of a slot it would automatically save that loadout to a database. Something similar to this: http://www.dannyvankooten.com/demo/inventory-drag-and-drop-with-db/

I like the idea of auto-repairing some equipment but not all of it. Maybe there's a master 'auto-repair' button on the dashboard but if it's turned off, you can tick a box in the equipment's details window.

I was also thinking that on the shop page there would be a section for comparing items because I do it all the time.

There should be a "backpack page" and I should take out the shop on the dashboard. It's convenient having it there, a sort of all-in-one page, but it causes too much clutter and makes finding things more difficult.

Thanks for the input Ozy!

I don't think this has been mentioned yet, and is something I've always wanted: the ability to select and sell or buy multiple items at once.
You think you're pretty smart with your dago mustache and your greasy hair.

Amazing. +3.
Heirloomed items are excellent. It gives me the envy to heirloom some items just for the look.  For axes, I could think of engraved models like the Vikings incised their blade and added silver to make terrific drawings. It should not be too hard to design and the result would be fantastic.

If I may: the dashboard should look less overwhelmed by information. Don't mix too much fonts style and colours to maintain a harmony and leave some margins/spaces here and there. My eyes don't know where to land.

An idea: in place of the silhouette in the Equipment square, I would like to see my character: his face and how it is dressed up (like in the Native single player). I know I am dreaming a bit but does anyone know if this is possible? The face would need to be imported but the clothes and armors could be added altogether on a model..., hm?

Implement a solid mix of an upgrade + used look.

Example: Badass blades on masterwork / mighty stage (reflects the power of the tool) and as a counterpart worn of grips ?

Just some thoughts.

In general, pls faaaaaaaaking implement stuff like this....its AWEEEEOHHHHHSOOOOOOME.

Wow....just wow....
drooling over, I definately prefer the upgraded look of the heirlooms and I think it would be a lot less confusing, better looking weapon, the better it is.
I do however also like the worn look, and I think it fits the whole heirlooming side and passing down to the next generation. But it would be really confusing having an old rusty, worn weapon that is more powerful than its shinier, newer looking predecessor.

also the web interface looks incredible +1

Ok, finally figured it out. Just had to put the .dds in the textures folder :P

Anyways, I'd really like to do something like this for every weapon/armor:
visitors can't see pics , please register or login

There would really only be texture changes and slight model adjustments, nothing too drastic. I wouldn't change armor color too much because I know it would upset some people but this would be a fun way to see who's wearing/wielding what.

It's a butt-load of work but I'm ready and willing!

Thoughts?

i think is a fantastic idea.

you can use something similiar to history where noble got  on theyr armor  gold incisions.

so somethins like

iron-bronze-silver-gold      add'ons on armor/equip

I like heirlooms looking better. But please no fantasy swords with jewels and spikes all over the place.

Hey mate,
+1 in awesomeness from me for this idea and your ready- and willingness!!!  Your the BOSS!
Although I also highly prefer the "passed down" look to the golden and shiny one. I just dont see my Mercenary Char running around with a Langes Messer engraved with diamonds and a phantasma bow made out of platin or dragon bone. For me, thats just not cRPG, cause I really appreciate the dirty, realistic touch of the game.
I really like La Makinas idea of having the weapons engraved for higher heirloom levels.

Peace,StuLLe

Only concern i have is keeping all the upgrades in the same style the original weapon was. Viking runes would look silly on an oriental sabre, etc.

But what you have shown so far is terrific indeed. I like the upgraded look better than the repaired look. I hope you have enough stamina to see this through, would certainly improve the mod a lot.

BTW: If you see this through, it would serve as a terrific entry to your portfolio. A 3d artist being able to show 4 different skins/models of hundreds of weapons shouldn't have trouble getting access to the bigger projects in the hobby game developer scene, and it might even help with getting into the professional scene.

Personally, I like the aged and repaired versions...but with a twist.

An heirloomed weapon should look aged, but aged respectably..not worn down.  It's a fine line.

For example, an heirloomed sword might have a new grip put on it (new and shiny) but the blade will look aged (matured might be the word).  It would get a nice patina...might have some pitting in the metal (depending how old it is).

I like the realistic aging.  If the weapon looks too different, it isn't an heirloom..its a new weapon!  For example a sword heirloomed once might get a slightly repaired-looking grip.  The second heirloom would get a new shiny grip, but a slightly aged blade.  The 3rd heirloom would get runes inscribed, or a new fancy handle, and a blade that has aged slightly, but evenly, so the whole blade has an evenly aged patina.  Dunno, just brainstorming.
Just my 2 cents!

Overall, everything looks awesome.
