MechWarrior Online

It has been known for some time now, that the next MechWarrior game will be a Free2Play MMO-like thingy. And damn, the more info comes out, the better it looks! Check this out!

So, anyway, iirc, they are planning to have a beta or something in the summer and you can already register and reserve your pilot's name on the site - click the big Register now button.

So i was thinking - are other cRPGers excited about this? Maybe we could form some group? (Merc company? Or a group of IS MWs?)

Iam somewhat excited for it because I hope it to be some kind of WoT with Mechs, which would be awesome and make me addicted.

I believe it will be a ton better than WoT. I remember reading about how they plan to balance the battlefield, so that it is actually worth playing with light and medium mechs, rather than heavies and assault mechs. Besides, mechs are not tiered, just classed.

What I´d really like to have are a lot of possibilities to customize the mechs, I mean the looks and such.



maybe a bit like Front mission evolved if you know that, there you can change every part of your mech and the colors.But with more weapons would be nice.

This is gonna be pretty fun. Reminds me of a fast paced game I used to play...the fuck was it. Will update when I remember. It's like 10+ years old for PC....

Iwasnt talking about actual magic...Of course i know there is none involved  in that universe, I was talking about magic-style activated skills and such("Battlecry" and other stupid shit that wouldnt fit into a mech-game).There is always that danger when it´s called "MMO".

Haha I remember playing the original mechwarrior on SNES with my buddies when we were like 10 or 11.  Good times.  In hindsight not a huge fan of that type of game though.
