By "lead the group to victory" he means I did not allow the entire team to tk so much that we were defeated by a non-existent army.

...But I sure as hell did that! Anyone know whats up with the weird random gear me and Bronto got on strat?

Bronto's is from the last battle he was in and your (I'm guessing) gear came from the fact that they had 49 men but not enough gear for all of them, so the 49 man army was "unarmed" due to lack of sufficient gear.
