Suggestions Corner / Add Weapon - Estoc
« on: July 11, 2013, 05:11:16 am »
Ok so since I've had a lot of spare time lately I decided to give two hand even more love. We two handers need a new weapon besides big slashing weapons, right? Well some could disagree...

Again stats are purely speculation and not thought through. Download :  http://www.mediafire.com/?1w8ptcynt9c6277

Suggestions Corner / Add Weapons - Flambard and Flammard
« on: July 08, 2013, 11:26:48 pm »
Ok so i'm obsessed with flame bladed swords, which is what Flambard and Flammard means, so I made two. The Flambard has three different versions, and the Flammard only has one.

The stats are purely speculation and I did not really think them through too much.           Download :  http://www.mediafire.com/?1w8ptcynt9c6277

General Off Topic / FPS drops when my internet connection slows
« on: July 02, 2013, 08:51:40 pm »
My internet is shit and my ping usually jumps around from 30-120 ping. But sometimes it goes over 120+ and then for some reason it takes a toll on my fps. It lags and then my fps drops from 60 to 10-20.

It is frustrating because when i'm lagging I would love just o block until my ping gets back down but the low fps really makes it hassle to even see a swing!

Beginner's Help and Guides / Is it worth looming bows now?
« on: June 30, 2013, 06:19:28 pm »
Since you don't have to have a full mw set to play archer now is it really worth it to loom a bow? Other then if you're using final_boss' pack of course! Should an archers priority be arrows first now?

http://forum.melee.org/general-discussion/heirloom-texture-pack-hotfix/

I would like to start off by saying this is not the return of Final_Boss. I am merely updating the pack in his absence, in which he has given me permission to continue.

If you do not like what I have done with this pack then feel free to navigate back to the original thread, found here http://forum.meleegaming.com/suggestions-corner/new-heirloom-models-(and-web-gui)/

Please report any bugs in the comments.

To do list, in no particular order...

Scene Editing / Something has to change!
« on: June 07, 2013, 06:13:33 am »
We really need some more scene managers. I know of only one person who does this, and that is Jacko. Please tell me if there are more.

Now Jacko has been a very good scene manager, but I think he is really tied down now. Which means we should get atleast two more scene managers. Even if Jacko is still active there needs to be atleast one more manager.

I mean there has been a plethora of amazing maps being made and updated but they are either taken off of rotation or not even looked at! Not to mention the ones that are added but the map cycle is so friggin bugged they don't ever come up!

Please, please, please start the reconstructed cRPG heirarchy. I know M:BG is the priority right now but please help us.

If we do get more scene managers the first thing they should do is update all the existing maps with the updates the map makers have upload. Then they should go back through all the maps that have been submitted, since ALOT of them have most likeely been overlooked.

Now let's hope to God this actually gets read.

Suggestions Corner / Different Mail Coif
« on: June 04, 2013, 01:36:31 am »
We need a second mail coifs to go with different armors. The first one is ok for most native models, but not for others.

There is already one in dejawolfs brf files, so why not just add in his model so we can have two?

Guides / [GUIDE] The Outfitter
« on: May 28, 2013, 11:58:26 pm »
This is a fairly simple guide on how to try on armor sets without paying anything!

Getting Started

- First you will need to download this file...
These files are the items_kinds1.txt and module.txt ( maybe even called the module_ini.txt ) Hold onto these two files for later use.

- Next you will need to make a copy of the Native module folder. If you are using Steam this is usually found in Program files /steam/steamapps/ common/MountBlade Warband/Modules.

- Rename your copy of the Native module to something like "Test Module".

"Installation"

Now that you have the files downloaded and your Test Module made we can proceed.

- You will need to copy all the files from the resource folder in the cRPG module into your Test Module's resource folder.
(click to show/hide)

- You will now proceed to do the same with the textures. Find the cRPG textures folder and copy it into your Test Module texture folder.
(click to show/hide)

- Now that you have copied all the necessary files over you will want to delete the following files from your Test Module : item_kinds1.txt and module.txt.
(click to show/hide)

- Now you will want to take the files you downloaded and put them into your Test Module, the item_kinds1.txt and module.txt. You may have noticed that there is a file saying "Outfitter ( no heirloom )". That file is for people who are not using final_boss for cRPG. I haven't tested if it works but if it doesn't you will still be able to try on your armors, but a few weapons may be invisible/messed up.

Outfitting Yourself

Once you have done all of the above instructions you will be able to try on every armor combination you have ever dreamed of wearing!

What's that you say, you don't know what to do now? Well I will give you some more detailed instructions on how to try on your brand spanking new armor set!

- First launch the cRPG launcher and click "Play cRPG". Once you are at the splash screen make sure to enable cheats and then change your module to Test Module and launch it.

- Once you are at the main menu click "Start new game". Then go through the character creation process. You may be thinking to yourself "how am I supposed to try on armor if I have only 6 strength?!" well i'll tell you.

- Once you are in the city press C. Now since you are on your character screen click "Statistics". Now click "Export character".
(click to show/hide)

- You will want to minimize your game and go to you documents. Once you are in your documents click on the folder "Mount&Blade Warband", then you should see a text document titled, your name here.txt. You can proceed to double click this document and edit the stats of your character, I would give him/her ALOT of strength and power strike in order to beat the bandit in the town to a pulp.

- Now you will want to bring your game back up and go back to the character panel, then statistics, then choose "import character".

- Final steps, here we go! Once you have done all of the above you, with cheats enabled, you will want to go to the world map and press ctrl and ~ at the same time. A black box should pop up, type in "cheatmenu", then press enter.
(click to show/hide)

- Now go to the camp panel and choose "CHEAT MENU!", then go to "Find an item...". It should be pretty straightforward from there.
(click to show/hide)

Enjoy!

Added in pictures and Need Help spoilers.

Please tell me if something goes wrong, if I need to elaborate more, or if you need help.

Beginner's Help and Guides / Jousting Lance vs Great Lance
« on: May 10, 2013, 03:48:59 am »
Are there any major differences between the two? I know that the jousting lance can be used with 9 strength instead of 12 allowing for a more dedicated lancer build. But is there any cool down difference? Can one be couched faster then the other?

I also know that 25 more damage makes the great lance more powerful...or is it!  :o

(click to show/hide)
(click to show/hide)

also does 15/21 sound like a good lancer cav hybrid? I wanted to be slightly effective on the ground still. 5 ps 7 wm 7 ath 7 riding and 3 if, using medium armor, longsword, and destrier.
