Hello,

  I've heard someone saying that one type of weapon cannot longer break twice, is that true ?

Exemple:
-Arabian Sword (slot 1)
-Throwing Axes (slot 2)
-Throwing Axes (slot 3)
-Throwing Axes (slot 4)

  With this setup you would never have to pay for more than one Axe upkeep at the same time. But is it most likely that it will have four time the chance to break.

cRPG Technical problems / Siege Beta - Attackers not spawning

Hello,

  Today at the beginning of the second round of a conquest map the attacking team couldn't spawn and we spent 10 minutes doing a deathmatch teamkill before Mr_Turtle saved us by changing the map. A pretty heavy bug  :rolleyes:.

I. What is it ?

Based on : Kinn post

  This is the combination of a web site, a web service, a windows service and a script to add new experiences to strategus. This include share of line of sight for members of the same faction with a simple and powerful role system to protect your data. Additionally there is contracts which are basically some sort of quest between factions/players, these contract will impact of your renow/infamy on the web site.

II. Factions and Solo profiles

  On my system every user can have one faction, one solo profile or even both. A profile is what link you to the different features of strategus enhancer, this is where the LOS and contracts will be stored.

  A solo profile can be disabled by entering a faction which doesn't allow player to have it, a disabled profile will be unable to apply for contract and therefore do anything on the system.

  A faction is like a solo profile but with multiple user in it, the right to act in behalf of the faction or alter it is managed by roles. A role is assigned to a user which will determine what he can do :

  These two object also hold the infamy and the renow, visible by everyone.



III. Contracts

  This is probably the main dishes: a quest system for strategus. This will, if it works properly (lol) allow solo player as well as faction to enjoy strategus en make goods on it.

  Contracts have a life cycle :

  Each contract will go from state to state depending on the contractor or mercenary actions, here is the "normal" course of action :

-Pending: Contract just created, no one can see the private property of the contract. No one can see who created it. The contract is added to the list in the Tavern.
-Accepted: The contractor accepted one of the mercenary who applied for it, the timer for the deadline will now start. The mercenary now can see all property of the contract.
-Fulfilled: The mercenary has fulfilled the contract, or at least claimed to have. The contractor now has to confirm it.
-Confirmed: The contractor has confirmed that the mercenary has fulfilled the contract. He now has to pay the man.
-Paid: The contractor had claimed to have paid the mercenary. The merc now has to confirm that.
-Closed: The mercenary has confirmed that the contractor has paid him. The contract is now visible by everyone.

  Each time you have have an action to make you will have a deadline of 24 hours for it. If you fail to make the action in time you will get infamy.
  All actions are made from the Contracts page of your Faction/Solo tab and will send a notification to the contractor or mercenary.

  In case of deny both the mercenary and contractor will get infamy, the may seams unfair but it is necessary and realistic. Chose your mercs wisely.

  There is three types of contracts:

-Basic: This is the most basic contract, it has a public and a private description.

-Scouting: This is a contract with a position that the merc will have scout. The fulfillment is done by pressing the "start" button to upload you data while being near the position.

-Trading: This is a contract with two town/castle or village in addition to the private and public description. The fulfillment is manual like for basic contract, the two locations are here to clarify the therms.



IV. Finaly

  There will be bugs as i just deployed the solution, don't panic if you see an exception page this is just because I've activated the details error for everyone. If you encounter one just post the exception message (the sentence in red at the top of the page) and say what you were trying to do.

Awnser: Me and only me. You can read the first 3 pages of this thread and decide if you want to trust me or not. But please don't whine about it this could never work without a remote server.

Hello,

  I've made a post about that a few months ago and i know it's useless to talk about this but meh :

  Please remove polestagger from arrows and bolts, this is a lame mechanism which make melee rage their guts out. If you believe archery is too weak and removing this will break the game then buff something else instead like missile speed or attack speed. Or you can simply remove it without any compensation like you did with polearms polestagger/turn rate and block while kicking  :rolleyes: .

  Polestun is lame and it's time to remove it from this game (It's ok for throwing tho, i understand it hurt to take a 2 Kg lance in the chest).

Hello,

  I would like to trade my Lordly Tagancha Helm (w:2.3 a:50 d:12) and my Lordly Heraldic Mail (w:12 a:45/17 d:10).

These two armors are really great but now that i changed my build i need something heavier and so i am looking for these items :

Helmet: Lordly Klappvisier or Lordly Pigface Klappvisier

Body armor : Lordly Red/Blue/Green Brigandine over Mail (will pay better for blue).

I can add golds because i don't like to wait.

Strategus General Discussion / Stop whining

Hello,

  As developer of the Strategus Enhancer solution i would like to tell you:

- It is open source you can download once you registered

- The key system is not to keep this as a secret it's here to control how many people are using it depending on how much my little amazon cloud can handle or how stable it is. I would like to remember that it is an alpha version and thing doesn't get developed by magic in one fucking day. I have a lot of thing to do and i already spent a lot of time on this solution.

- If you are whining because Wolves and their close allies got into the alpha first then get a fucking developer in your faction and make your own.

- Anyway once i have finished the version 2.0 the key system will be gone and lot of things will come up like :

     -Real relation management between faction (like native) and alliance
     -A contract system working like quests (scout here and i give you gold, attack this guy and i suck your peepee etc ....)
     -A renow/Infamy value depending how good you behave onstrat
     -A way to point target on strat map and add it to a message (like google map coordinate). This would also be used for contract like scouting.
     -.... give me other idea i can almost do anything

  Well right now the database is ready and i'm doing the site which is the longest part of the development, i like abusing the power of good frameworks so sometime it might look scary =x.

  Does a such thing exist ? A chronometer working with a direct x overlay (like mumble/team speak overlay). It would be a great help to test running speed, swing speed etc ...
 
  I've been looking for one but didn't find any, i can also make one but would be a waste of time if it already exist  :rolleyes:.

Hello,

  There is a few thing i am wondering about the impact of wearing sheathed weapons/shields on your character.

  I believe it slows you down because of the weight but doesn't affect weapons proficiency like armor does. But how much does it slow you down ? Is wearing 20 Kg of armor and a shield of 5 Kg sheathed on your back is the same thing as wearing 25 Kg of armor ? Same for throwing weapons ? crossbows ?

  I noticed that between holding your weapon or sheathing it there was a huge difference of speed. But it is maybe because the length of it is no longer counted in the equation, as the longer a weapon is the more it will slow you (has been demonstrated in a thread here).

  A thing which may be complete bullshit: Today on siege i was trying out my Jarids (4Kg) and played with it for few rounds. Later on i switched to Heavy Throwing Axes (4Kg) and noticed a significant difference in my movement speed, i was a lot faster. It could be the fact that i was on a different map on different ground but i really felt lighter, also when sheathing Heavy Throwing Axes you can't see it anymore. It is hidden in your mystery pocket and therefore may be out of the current space-dimension and not slowing you down.

  So does anyone know how does these thing work ? And is the mystery pocket real ?

Suggestions Corner / A suggestion about throwing

Hello,

  I noticed that all throwing weapons are at least 3 weight (except Francisca and Throwing lance). 3.5 Kg for 8 throwing daggers, 3 Kg for 8 shuriken, etc ....

  I believe it would be more RP and balanced to lower the weight of Shurikens/Daggers/Knives which are the things you usualy use as a ninja or assassin. At the moment if you are wearing a Lamellar Vest or any light armor, wearing two pack of shurikens will make you as fast as a guy in heavy kuyak which is not something an agility based character want.

What about :

Shurikens/Throwing daggers/Throwing Knives lowered to 2 Kg.



A last thing also related to throwing :

  It would be great to have an alternative between War Darts and Throwing Spear in term of difficulty. The only two pierce throwing weapon with more than 3 ammo are :

Darts (PT 1), War Darts (PT 2) and Throwing Spear (PT 6).

Either change the Javelins to 4/5 ammo and lower the damage to 29/30 pierce or make a new weapon like :


Heavy Throwing Darts (using the same model as War Darts but a little longer/bigger)

missile speed: 20
weapon length: 55
weight: 4
accuracy: 110
difficulty: 4
speed rating: 88
missile speed: 20
