Obviously very rudimentary at the moment but I just love stories like this where researchers are using technology for medical reasons like this. Exciting stuff.

Still count this among those last year. Great actor, one of my favorites.

So many great people have passed over the last year.

Perhaps the start of the population reduction so many people are in favour of.

General Off Topic / The Last Kingdom

For those interested the BBC have done an adaptation of Bernard Cornwell's The Last Kingdom series:

2 episodes out so far. Just watching the 1st and seems to be the BBC's Game of Thrones/Vikings (though obviously toned down).

Seems to be fairly true to the books as well.

I'm sure you can probably DL it somewhere.

General Off Topic / New GPU
« on: May 22, 2015, 06:06:40 pm »
Sooo looking at upgrading my old Radeon HD5750 to something nice new and shiny. It's done me well and lasted far longer than expectations (can still play FC4, DA:I ect on mostly high and had it for 5 1/2 years, not bad considering I bought it when around when DA:O was released) but with the release of Witcher 3 and other demanding games I'm thinking to upgrade to do those games justice.

I want to stick to AMD for consistency as my motherboard and CPU are both AMD and I found with my last upgrade that sticking to the same manufacturer limited issues.

So suggestions? Ideally a budget of £180 (250 euros, $275 for lazy scrubs) as the upper limit.

Nothing else to really consider in terms of motherboard, PSU ect. All those are up to scratch although may need a new case due to space limitations and the giant gpus that are out there these days.

Been looking at this one recently:

Or the 4gb:

General Off Topic / Great Adverts

Post great adverts from over the years (doesn't matter how old). I know there are some awesome ones out there.

This may go down as my new favourite Christmas ad:

Basically made by a similar team to the ones that made Dead Island. Even has similar aspects but with a mirrors edge take. So free running around a zombie world basically:

New humble bundle is pretty good for about $5:
BF3
Sims 3
Dead Space
Dead Space 3
Mirrors Edge
Burnout Paradise: The Ultimate Box
Medal of Honor
Crysis 2

Even if you have a couple of the games it's still worth it.

Just nabbed this off my sister and have to say it's fantastic. It has some of my favourite actors (Jeremy Irons, Patrick Stuart and more).

It's a BBC version of Shakespeares plays: Richard II, Henry IV and Henry V and I highly recommend it.

Not sure how many will be able to watch this as it's a BBC trailer but here:

The first season was some of his other plays but assumed you guys would be interested in the history ones  :P

Thought this was quite interesting. Was wondering how long it would be before someone attempted to come up with something like this for a general market.

Couldn't find a thread.

Just finished it. Dat ending

Gameplay (combat mechanics ect) was rather average but the story was damn good.

Guild Wars / Check your accounts!
« on: December 21, 2012, 02:39:13 am »
Well I thought I'd start up GW2 for the first time in a while and tried to log in only to be first told my account doesn't exist. So I recover it and then I try to log in with new password and I'm told my account has been terminated due to selling items or gold for real world money. I could only assume my account was hacked so I took a look on the forums (can't even log in there) and there's a host of people who have had the same problem very recently and are having to post through their friends accounts as the GW2 support is being slow about sorting each account out.

Hoping mine will get sorted soon but I strongly suggest people here keep an eye on their accounts as GW2 account security is clearly screwed if so many people are having issues.
