cRPG Technical problems / Gzip somethin' help needed!

So, when I try to install the update for cRPG it comes up with something along the lines of ''The magic number in GZip header is not correct''. Anyone who could help me out here? It is barring me from playing the mod which is a real pain.

Suggestions Corner / Light infantry or Heavy infantry?

I've retired and I was previously playing a Light infantry Shielder(with 6 Athletics) and I was thinking for this turn to maybe try something new like a Heavy infantry shielder(With 7 Ironflesh) I'm unsure to whether the Heavy infantry would be effective in Strategus which is most important.

I'm seeking a second opinion(Several would be nice).

Along time ago I downloaded a low resolution texture pack for warband and was stupid enough not to create a backup thinking I would never care to replace the low resolution textures. I now wish to revert them back to their former selves but do not wish to redownload the game - does anyone have a place I can download the Textures folder for Warband from?

I was just wondering and it'd be pretty nice if somebody compiled a guide to being a Hoplite, it'd be nice to learn from other players, and maybe I'd learn something new from it. And it could also help newer players too. So if anyones up for it, I'm sure theres a number of people who would probably chuck in their two pence.

I'm not quite sure where I've messed up with this build uhmm. Yes my character is currently 25 and I don't think I'm going to make that 18/21. If somebody could point out where I've failed I'll be glad.

I've modified the build alittle, to my liking as a 1h/Hoplite build.

Beginner's Help and Guides / Heater vs Board Shield

I was thinking of swapping my Plain Heater Shield for a Board shield, but I'm stuck on it really. Since my Lance is so short, I'm not sure if it would be worth buying the board shield due to it's painfully low speed rating. Has anyone tried out using the Board shield and have they seen much of a difference, and is it too slow for my up-close Hoplite build?

Some advice would be wonderful, thanks in advance.
