Title: So Im gonna start playing some TW games soon-ish...HALP?
Post by: Krex on March 26, 2015, 10:24:03 pm
Had Medieval 2 and Shogun 2 on my steam account for quite a while now and decided to play them.
Any advice I could need?
I never played any TW games.

Just do it. The less advice you get initially, the more fun it'll be. Game is best before you learn all the exploits and winning moves.

Medieval 2, I'd play England as your first so you have some breathing room. In Shogun 2, Shimazu will be a good starting one as they're the easiest to play.

Both are good and will give you an easier time to learn how to play. But don't feel like you have to play these 2 to start. Choose whatever you want.

Be sure to play on Normal/Normal as well. Good luck and make sure you keep an eye on your armies, cities and agents.

TATW is good, but if you want to play the medieval Total War, get Stainless Steel.

Any way to prove this was not totally uncalled for? I mean he DOES have point you know, unless you are joking about it.

Stainless Steel is a brilliant mod along with TATW, but I prefer Broken Crescent, another awesome mod, centered on the middle east starting in the late 12th Century, with the Kingdom of Jerusalem and other Christians fighting the Muzzies. There are also a couple of Hindu factions and maybe one or two Pagan factions. It's a beautiful mod.
