Utter might seem douchy at times, but everybody who has talked to him more than once can confirm that he would be a terrific admin.
He speaks out his mind, that is a very rare thing these days. He plays DTV regularly and is a DTV hero like no other. Perfect person for newcomers to look up at.

Uther knows how it feels

Long time ago, Heskey was playing on DTV with DrogbaTIME and KingTIME. Server was full, so it was much fun, many bots and so on. They were roleplaying Mylet-like characters with throwing maxed out and doing knife-barrages everywhere.

Once we charged the bots, suddenly Heskey writes in chat something along the lines of "Sorry Uther. Execute order 66." And then those goddamn wankers start turning my ass into a pincushion.

Thought I laughed a lot, I still tried killing them afterwards

''I read the logs FIUEFIEBFUH, some people complained about your throwing, that you often teamhit. Maybe try being a bit more careful to avoid such situations? :)''

I feel that you are emotionally compromised by this scenario and incapable of rational thought on the subject of teamhitting throwers. I once had a friend once who did similar and you muuuuuurdered him!

Two friends. And I enjoyed every second of slashing that followed. AND YOU CAN'T PROVE I DID THAT

Now i think of it i'm sad i have no screenshots of Mylet clan :( or that glorious moment. You should've made a ban thread on us so that we could look back at it and smile, hard to believe i've had so few bans in this mod.

Harder to believe I have no bans at all, considering I am leeching, insulting, yelling racist slurs, teamhitting and teamkilling almost everytime I play :D

Don't we all :)

the times we yelled and teamkilled only to touch the chadz bot, or to kill him
Great times when there was actual teamwork with archerroofs and shieldwalls, slashers and pikers, great times grinding the loompoints and to help the oiled machine we were :)

bring back the old maps and times, with no invisible walls!
would be great

I am missing out on so much hilarity not playing DTV.
You missed all the hilarity when DTVirgin's old maps died and turned into the current post-fips disaster, which Hellsing/Spanky_Ham fixed by adding many old maps (of whom Fips said he'll start a rotation, but we're just stuck with same fipsshit maps and same restored maps) :?

I still play DTV whatever it may or may not be, it's my gamemode, I started here, Stromgarde started here and it died here, and that is where I'll be gone for the rest of my time in cRPG, with occasional visits to Eu_2.

I do remember the times when it was Defend the Virgin. I was here. And I also witnessed some of the Stromgarde hilarity on the server back in the day. I even have an undercover DTV xbower called Hardbreaker. But I am not one of the regulars like you guys.

Then came this bossy rapist bourgeouis Valdemar dude and yeah, maps weren't so enjoyable anymore. At least during the previous DTV, you would see me around. I just don't like the current one as much.

I used to play the shit out of DTV. That is where I learned to play :D

But when it changed to Defend the Viscunt it became boring as hell.
Been basically only playing Siege and Battle ever since. And now that the lags are getting more and more unbearable on there as well, there was nothing to hold onto in cRPG.
Title: Re: [EU] Uthyr Pendraeg

I have a plan!

We gather everyone we know. Use PMs, Steam, TS, forum, everything available to gather everyone we know who once played and enjoyed crpg. We pick a date when most people are free, some prime time slot, and then we all go and play PokeMMO.

I actually have to reinstall that! :D

Use your majicks to make old map real good, somehow change Valdemar back into the Innocent Virgin, and then maybe we can have DTV best times again.

I remember those sweet shieldwalls where one scumbag would walk backwards and kill everyone by letting bots through, that time i got an arbalest called 'The Motivator' and stood behind the shieldwall to encourage shielders not to walk backwards.... it failed because one shot wasnt enough to kill them so they never learned to fear.

I don't know shit about map management or making them, Fips was meant to manage them and change with other maps that Spanky re-designed :(

Besides, didn't you know that it was Uther who banned majicks? It's forbidden!
If anything, I'd just say "yes" for removing most of the Fips maps now and adding few other old-renewed ones and leave it like that, there's no hope for any bigger changes to the gamemode itself.
Or at least somehow change the new maps names in the admin panel, so I can easily map-change to them :D

The problem is the jumpiness of the lag. For a minute you are not experiencing any lag, the next minute you miss every attack and people warp through you.

If you want your ban request to be taken seriously, try not to teamkill the people you want to ban, as logs showed. And use the ban request form next time, thank you.

And if Krems want to stop getting accused of shit, they should stop bro-coding, that's really the main complaint they have on them from other people. Building stuff is fine, as long as you don't overdo it.

No action taken as there are no specified offenders and OP broke rules himself from what the logs show.

Please, do not post unless you're related to the ban request.

It's the "common sense", if you are friends with enemy and by not fighting you are hurting your team, you just found a new way to be an asshole, and that is punishable.
That ban request would've gone differently if Pandor posted any names, but "krems band" is a bit... unspecific.

This has gotta be the reason why I get shot to bits by every single feggy fegcher and xfeggy on the server whenever I am on. Because I do know that most ranged bastards are in cahoots with other peeps.

Bastards

Mean fekken bastards

This is why you feggies will keep finding my great long bardiche hanging by your neck everytime you think you are safe
Title: Re: [EU] Uthyr Pendraeg

Exactly the reason why I'm ignoring melee opponents until I kill anything ranged that moves. Ranged and cav have priority because of their dastardly personalities.
Title: Re: [EU] Uthyr Pendraeg
Post by: Daunt_Flockula on January 11, 2015, 12:56:15 am
Wish that became common. I explicitly ignore melee opponents too and go for the feggy every single time, but they always tend to be feggy lovers. They just have to save that feggy even if their flag may be going down and requires attention.

Well I have the tendency not to really attack clanmates when they are being ganked by some others or when there are other enemies in sight, but if i have to fight I must, and we understand :)

Well, you have to apply common sense here - if you see a friend in the enemy team, decide to hug him and then go in opposite directions, that's not THAT harmful. Unless you're last 2 players remaining

If you're 4 players in team A and 3 players in team B and you group together, don't fight and start doing stuff together, that's a bit more naughty

If you're actively helping a friend from enemy team, as in, during a fight you avoid hitting him or you hit your teammate on purpouse, then you could get in trouble BUT AGAIN, it all depends on the situation, who does it, why do they do it, and shit like that.

Fun is subjective category. For me fun is slaying other players (enemies, I don't enjoy teamkilling), not hugging and yelling all the time. Seems that this community prefers different kind of fun and I'm okay with it. But you should change the official rules to reflect that.

The most bullshit ban I've ever got was when I kicked two times in a row an archer who was observing a duel on EU4. Retard thought it would be funny to make a ban request and tell admins that I teamhit him twice out of spite. Retard admin took the bait and I was banned for two days, which led to me retiring my character which I never intended to do before and quit the mod for some time.

You maybe, but I've seen Grey order members deliberately waiting for round to end instead of attacking their clanmates (leeching) on the other side and helping their team to win. Before, they abused banner balance. Seen that hundreds of times during past 4 years. And it wasn't just Grey order. Many other clans do that and no one gives a shit, not a single admin.

Implementation of clans in this mod led to so much abuse and because of it I'm certain that it is what is killing this mod. 160 random players without banner balance still enjoy native servers, 5 years after Warband gone gold.

You fit well in current cRPG crowd, AwesomeHail. People got bored of playing serious cRPG and these days are mostly hanging around doing silly things. But two years ago, there was a dedicated server for that called EU4.

It was my stupidity what led to my ban. I'm kinda Stalin kind of guy who thinks things should always go the way I imagine them. And meeting people who feel differently don't always end well. People on EU4 had their way of fun, I didn't respect that.

Only real problem here is that cRPG changed over time. When I started playing, it was serious and grinding was something we all loved. But after that it started to turn into something only the likes of Fin and Shanks can love and appreciate. Honestly, dunno why the likes of me are still around. Kinngrimm left awhile ago.

My thoughts mostly. The only exception is that I know why I haven't left yet: I just can't find anything better to play. I simply can't. I have got a bunch of AAA and indie games that I can play, but they don't give me the same thrill. It is just crpg and the recently released BOI: Rebirth for me nowadays. But I share your frustration fully. I take this game seriously only to a reasonable extent and seeing that some people cannot manage even that "reasonable" level of seriousness drives me crazy on a daily basis.

EU4 had some seriousness, it was for the ones not capable of evading the rape of the massively populated EU1 at the time, and it had its own more or less unwritten rules. It was fun while it lasted and I got to know many people via that :)

Sometimes, I shoot two people hugging like the monster I am, but sometimes, I just ignore them, just for fun. If some people want to do silly things, well ... I don't really know actually how to take it. On one side, I like shooting down people, but on another side, doing silly things sometimes lighten up the gameplay, at least, for me (of course, I'm not talking about leeching and teamhitting teammates). I'm tired of playing a class that sometimes is close to useless, can often gets me mad. Why so serious after all ?

Point taken Leshma. I often think I should become an admin as well, but then I realize that I lack the patience required to deal with spoiled trolly immature retards who literally refuse to learn. The realization itself is reason enough for me to respect anyone who can do it as one is supposed to. Hence my tribute to and respect for all active, semi-active and even inactive admins.

You know you have to actually be an admin for a good while, endure the endless shitstorm and have a thread like this filled with random stuff before you could finally stop and be considered an inactive admin, right? If any admin action is needed on EU side and no admin is around, feel free to add me on steam (http://steamcommunity.com/id/GiovanniJan/) and message me, I should join cRPG in around 1-2 minutes after any message.

Damn you Polak, I've waited for you to show up so you can ban me before Fin gets the chance for payback becuz of Fuma ban. Was so desperate that I even contacted that spanish bastard Patoson but it was too late, Fin was too quick. Good thing he was in a moderately good mood, could be a lot worse.

The Polish word meaning Pole. However, in English, this has become a racial slurr/derogatory title for a person of Polish descent. This is ofcourse undofrtunate, but English speaking people are not to call a Polish person a Polak, because the proper term for this in the English language is , Pole. This is jsut a warning obviosuly, some ignorant imbeciles may argue this, but call a spade a sapde. Unless you are one of us, don't use the term Polak about us. This will only lead to you getting your jaw smashed in.

If you want to get into Dwarf Fortress (unless you are already into it, just not playing it atm) with as little pain as possible (read: only average agony), follow the steps of Johammeth's playthrough (http://forum.melee.org/general-discussion/how-long-will-the-na-survive/), and the Dwarf Fortress Wiki guide (http://dwarffortresswiki.org/index.php/DF2014:Quickstart_guide), ALSO get the Starter Pack and use either Ironhand or Phoebus texture packs.

After you feel you're advanced enough, try Dwarf Therapist, great tool for faster dwarf labours management. And remember, losing is !FUN! :D

I'll just post screenshots from my Dwarf Fortress games here from time to time

My current fort, Mengegen - LASHGIFTED, is thriving.

Counting 101 dwarves, the Town of LASHGIFTED has survived thus far 1 necromancer siege (which was fucking horrifying and I hope to never have it happen again) and 2 goblin sieges.

(click to show/hide)

Only named dwarves from this community are:
Gurnisson - Mason and a bone carver. He likes crowns, picks, dacks for their quacking and detests brown recluse spiders.
Karasu - Woodcutter, brewer and mechanic. He likes helms and giant ostrich feathers and prefers to consume sewer brew. He detests moon snails.
Norman - Carpenter and diagnostician, our chief medical dwarf. She likes gold, albatross leather, worm tooth, rattlesnake bone and bracelets. She likes eating mosquitos and detests oysters.
Uthyr - Miner and organizer, Manager of LASHGIFTED. She likes floodgates, amulets, common snapping turtle's tooth (not teeth, specific tooth), water buffalos for their water wallowing and penguin men for their waddling grace. Prefers to consume honey bee and dwarven ale, ABSOLUTELY detests fire snakes.

The fort has already lived for 3 years, it's year 253 and we've reached adamantite just a few weeks ago.

ALSO, we have a pet Giant Lion who got slightly hurt in last fighting with Giant Elk Birds in the caverns.

Also, a tiny DF update:

Giant Lion died after a cave crocodile ripped his throat. Lion managed to kill him before bleeding to death. RIP

Following the last goblin siege, there was an awful big amount of dead bodies, bones, skulls and other rotting carcass lying outside, which caused quite a few of LASHGIFTED citizens to shriek in terror whenever wandering outside to fish or gather wood.

visitors can't see pics , please register or login

To fix that problem, a wall is being built to hide the refuse stockpile from the dwarves. Because SOME of them aren't doing well (http://i.imgur.com/UsLxZXL.png) seeing those corpses...
Also, for any possible future sieges, a ballista room, that'll hold 3 operated siege engines, was carved (with no windows outside YET) and soon will be filled with ammunition and said huge crossbows. I'm especially happy to use it against undead, since wooden bolts should do a fine job with smashing them into tiny piles of meat and ash.

EDIT: A Liason has came (a messenger from the Monarch, gives me information about what happened in the last year + discusses trade agreements with me), and apparently 3 dwarven sites were conquered by a neighbouring goblin civilization, The Dungeon of Slaves. This bodes ill.

LASHGIFTED is kill. I did an absolutely awful mistake of both not taking screenshots and leaving my gate open for 2 seconds too long when suddenly a ton of stuff started happening.

First, a possesed dwarf who couldn't finish his project went insane and started punching children and cats. As he was armed (sic) BUT not yet using his weapon, I quickly sent my entire military to dispatch him (probably 1 soldier would be enough but now its too late to wonder) Just as they went down into the tunnels, an UNDEAD SIEGE arrived (pretty much the worst thing that can siege you). So, I quickly move my military back, enact the civilian alarm to order all dwarves back into the safety of our halls and order someone to close the main gate. As per usual, that task is given to a dwarf who is furthest away from the lever operating the gate. By the time he reaches it, a couple (5-6) zombies make it in and start slaughtering my animals and slower dwarves. After 6 dwarves die, my military finally arrives back at the gate and clashes with the walking corpses.

Another beautiful thing happens - because of the onslaught and civilian alert, dwarves are very unhappy and few are starting to throw tantrums. BECAUSE OF WHICH, no one is re-arming the traps near the bottom caverns, and now a dozen trolls enter our staircase and start walking to the grand hall. What happens later is too brutal to tell, but remaining 60 alive dwarves (from 120!) retreat back to the entrance corridors, where zombies are finally killed with (thankfully) no losses on militia side.

And this is when the worst fucking thing happens.
One of the tantruming dwarves
Quote
A tantrum is a temporary emotional breakdown experienced mainly by dwarves with high propensity to anger.
in a sudden rush of fury decides to pull the lever operating the main gate. And let inside a host of over 40 undead, rotting, falling apart, fearless, painless, armed in metal armors (because they werent JUST corpses, they were from a necromancer tower, and necromancers thankfully have already left).

My brave militia faces them in the combat, and I quickly draw remaining dwarves into another quickly formed militias, now fighting both undead and trolls from the caverns.

At this point I still had hope, after all the fight was taking place HERE:
visitors can't see pics , please register or login

Right next to a big stockpile, so if only my dwarves just run there and grab some weapons, maybe...

As the fight progressed, dwarves were being torn apart, thrown against the walls, dismembered, crushed, bones breaking and brain shattering. Militia, prepared for the undead siege, was armed mainly with hammers and one legendary mace, best used against enemy who can't feel pain - beating them into pulp was the only way of killing them. Sadly, trolls weren't so keen on having their bones broken. During the last moments of the siege, there were 5 trolls left, 2 undead and 2 militiamen - all that was left of my Barony (Yes, I didn't update on that but some time after last caravan, LASHGIFTED was granted a Barony title and our militia commander became a Baron. And he was now last dwarf left alive, along with another hammerdwarf.)

Both long since in martial trance, and wildly swinging, kicking, punching, biting, bashing with their hammers and their steel shields, managed to kill what little was left of the trolls and undead. And there they stood, surrounded by a hair-rising scenes of massacre, vomit, pieces of meat, dozens upon dozens of rotting corpses, skulls, bones, limbs, and blood. All was blood.

They both packed their bags, took their equipment along with some food and drink, and ventured forth into the world, retiring LASHGIFTED for nature to overcome and adventures to explore in the future.

Next time I'll embark to some less undead'y site.

I still slack, sometimes so badly that the "to ban" character gets deleted and I can't do shit about it, so I just quietly lock the thread or ignore it

But thank you for appreciation, however handling the forum ban requests is hardly being active - I don't play Eu1, and that's where other admins are really important. I just do the paperwork on the forums because I have lots of time for that and rarely a problem with judgement, for better or for worse :D

Holy shit so yesterday they finally released a new update to Dwarf Fortress, 0.42.01
Quote
Here is the new version we've been working on all year! The flow of fortress life is quite a bit different now -- specific breaks and parties have been replaced by taverns and performances and needs and inebriation. You can designate a tavern, temple or library from a meeting area zone, bedroom or dining room using the new Assign Location option. The location list ('l') will let you know what sort of furniture and items you need, and you can set tavern keepers, scribes and other occupations there as well. You'll need to set up a drink stockpile and a chest for goblets in taverns for drink service to work properly, but dwarves can still drink without a tavern as before. You can assign multiple rooms/zones to a single location. There's a lot more -- see the feature list below.
The bug fix list below is partial. Large chunks of the game were changed, which has a way of making old bugs go away while bringing in new ones to take their place. We'll be focusing on bugs old and new in subsequent releases, starting with crashing saves and moving down the list. The next set of bug-fix releases will be measured on a scale of days and weeks rather than months, as usual.

New stuff:

Ability to designate taverns, temples and libraries in the fortress
Taverns and libraries also exist in adventure mode and world generation
Tavern keepers can serve drinks in both modes, goblets can be used by dwarves to drink (in taverns or otherwise)
Performances include stories, poetry, music and dance (you can view activity descriptions from the unit/job list)
Art forms are randomly generated for each civilization
Instruments are now all generated, instruments can be used in both modes
Most instruments are constructed from multiple pieces using different materials
Personalities and values lead to needs which can be met by various actions in both modes
The fort has visitors, residency petitions and eventual citizenship, including non-dwarves
Tavern visitors include mercenaries, monster slayers, bandits, diplomats and performers
Can set details for clothing/armor jobs to make them for other races that can equip items
Monster slayers can petition your fortress to go down and fight monsters once you discover the underground
Performance troupes are active in world generation and into play, visiting the fort, can be formed in adventure mode
New knowledge system divided into nine branches (though it has very few practical effects so far)
Fortress scholars can advance knowledge, form master-apprentice relationships and write down their findings
Fortress scribes can copy works in your library
Scholars can visit your fortress libraries, bringing knowledge from around the world
Devoted historical figures can visit your fortress temples
Three forms of writing material: papyrus sheets, paper sheets and parchment sheets
Papyrus sheets are made directly from the plant at the farmer's workshop
Paper is made from pressed slurries (start at the quern/mill, then go to a screw press)
Parchment is made from hide and milk of lime at the tanner's (bake quicklime at a kiln, then make milk of lime at an ashery)
Sheets are used to make quires or with rollers to make scrolls -- these are then used for writing
Quires can be bound into codices with bindings after they contain writing
Dwarves read books in the library (they don't need to be scholars)
Values can be passed in writing (both modes) and through adventure mode arguments (uses some conversation skills)
Animal people are playable as adventurers, arrive as fort visitors and sometimes live in towns in (playable) populations
Children play with toys now, and they can also play make believe, in both modes
Personality can be customized/randomized in adventure mode, appearance can be randomized as well
Temples can be defiled in both modes, dwarf temples can be assigned to particular gods
Adventurer can rent rooms in inns
Adventurers can compose new poems, music and dances
Adventurers can write material down on empty quires or scrolls
Alcohol causes inebriation, erratic behavior, unconsciousness, death
Festivals occur in world generation, though we haven't gotten them out of there yet
Dwarves will wear trinkets again

Major bug fixes:

Fixed some army pathing issues
Goblins have mounts again
Fixed long-standing flow bug with unit occupancy
Stopped some issues with brawls escalating to non-lethal

Other bug fixes/tweaks:

Looking at reaction screen for redded-out reactions in workshop will indicate missing reagents now
Fixed inversion problem with half of the child/parent conversation thoughts
Lots of historical figures that weren't around from the beginning didn't have deities when they were supposed to
Allowed site finder to look for 1x1 sites
Human civilizations now have randomized values
Added ability to set invasion wave cap size

TL;DR version?

I've always been quite intrigued by DF, but way too complex for me!
Title: Re: [EU] Uthyr Pendraeg
Post by: Uther Pendragon on December 02, 2015, 05:05:55 pm
TL;DR:
(Fortress mode)
You can now designate temples, libraries and taverns in your fortress;
in temples your dwarves can pray to their deities and devoted historical figures from outside your fort can come and visit them (you can assign temples to specific god),
in libraries your scribes can write down books and scrolls, advancing knowledge, forming new ideas (which can spread between dwarves and other fortresses), and discovering stuff,
in taverns your dwarves gather now, instead of throwing parties around objects like statues or tables, in a tavern works a tavern keeper who serves beer in goblets.
You can also DEFILE a temple, in both adventurer and fortress mode.

Dwarves can now wear trinkets again (rings, jewelry, necklaces), children can play with toys, instruments can be made and used

Your dwarves can think of a dance, make it a part of their culture and even form performance groupes (troupe's?).

Thanks to taverns, now your fort can have VISITORS, who are not always dwarves AND who can become PERMAMENT residents of your fort.

In adventurer mode:

You can now customize your character look, his personality, and new skills were added regarding reciting poetry, musicality (Different instrument types) and other social skills.
Also you can now play ANIMAL MEN (used to be only human or dwarf or elf adventurer)
And you can do all those things you could do in fortress mode - play instruments, recite poetry, dance (flashmobs HAPPEN!), persuade people to different ideas (http://imgur.com/a/CJII9) (bright white and blue text is the important conversation, grey is in the background)
Also dwarves can drink themself dead now, somehow. I didn't achieve that yet.

ALSO, from the major bug fixes, they fixed goblin army pathing, WHICH MAY MEAN, that in fortress mode, they'll attack and siege your mountainhome much more often

Yes, undead storks. Because this place is fucking haunted and dead are walking (Thank god not rising actively otherwise we'd be fucked in less than a minute)

We've got year 120, and brave dwarves of the expedition group called The Palisades of Dyes have embarked to make their home in the haunted swamps of Sigunbim, or in the common tongue, Toursling.

The dead dwarf was a lover of the expedition leader. Kadol is not happy about her demise.

We'll dig deeper into the earth now and block off the entrance to the fortress, untill it's relatively safe to open it for the outside world.

I'll need some names for the dwarves, so feel free to post here if you want to end up as an alcoholic midget become an adventurer or maybe an artisan or a soldier!

It's a haunted biome, so imagine it's all just twisting vines, chaos and all that.

Also, from my 6 dwarves, only 2 miners are still alive, due to their pickaxes being good weapons against undead.

EDIT: Fortress is dead, an undea horse slaughtered everyone with his retarded power.

http://dffd.bay12games.com/file.php?id=7622 - Lazynewbpack, allows you to easily tweak the game so it's not repulsing - in graphics choose Ironhand or Phoebus - it'll just look like a pixel game and not matrix soup. Also make sure Aquifer is turned OFF, because it's a bitch to deal with))

http://dwarffortresswiki.org/index.php/DF2014:Quickstart_guide - basically a big fat mechanics intro, will set you up for a good game to not get thrown away
http://forum.melee.org/general-discussion/how-long-will-the-na-survive/ - follow the Wiki guide for mechanics and cRPG thread to know what to do, and maybe you'll learn to play and enjoy it :D It's great fun if you have patience for text-based combat and stuff, especially with newest patch coming that is going to add construction building to Adventurer mode.

Growers+brewers+cooks+someone to craft barrels or pots proven to be the easiest start for me. Good food is great for trading and you are covered on all your basic needs.

I always take 2 miners minimum, woodcutter, a doctor, and others. Prepared food is ridiculously good for trade, and makes those whining drunks happy))

Who doesn't love a plump helmet roast with minced plump helmet, minced plump helmet and minced plump helmet?

I had a carpenter and metalsmith next to all those.

I didn't get to the trade part yet. Last I checked I sorted out the food problem, couldn't figure out how to farm yet, yes I am that noob.

This game is tiring, but it is really fun. Gonna start a new game with all the info I gathered today

[b]uilding - farm [p]lot - designate it's height and width with um and kh (3x3 is generally good enough)

It's those pretty green X's, a 4x4 farm plot (two tiles blocked due to some stupid plants)

Also make sure you have no yellow warnings like in this case - No mud/soil for farm. You'd have to either water the area for soil to form, or place the plot inside the mountain, in a digged out soil walls.

After that, select the farm plot, and select what plant you want to plant in WHICH SEASON (thats important - some plants can only be planted during certain seasons, but plump helmets are most universal and work in all)
(click to show/hide)
Select the one you want, and either choose it for each season or just press Shift+Enter with the correct plant selected)

I used youtube tuto to learn to play. Maybe it takes a bit more time but if you are lazy as me it's great to avoid reading.  8-)

You seem to have great fortress Uthyr, you could make a "How long will the fortress EU survive?" thread, that would be great!  :D (try to find a mod to rename goblin as syrians for better visibility in off topic)

So I embarked in a Freezing Haunted Badlands today.

Firstly it started raining goo, all of dwarves got covered in shit, then a pack of ice wolves arrived, killed 3 of them dwarves and a yak bull, at that moment I was like "Okay I can survive this" but then a Blizzard Man appeared, killed anything left from the wolves.

It even sounds great when you try to explain what happened -Tay writes stuff based on what she learns from people she talks with, proceeds to make people uncomfortable, is lobotomised and her algorithm is changed so she stops learning new things from people chatting with her and BOOM, she's a feminist now

What Dwarf Fortress stuff do you use? Like tilesets and etc.

I've been meaning to give it another whack. Also if you haven't read Boatmurdered (http://lparchive.org/Dwarf-Fortress-Boatmurdered/Update%201-2/) yet, it's a very good DF storytime.

Quote
"A few more war dogs ran out and attacked. I have to say I'm slightly terrified by them. One of the bitches actually gave birth while she was attacking, and her puppies joined in on the carnage. At the end of the day, the three mandrills were dead, and they took one war dog with them and injured another one and a puppy."

"The poor dog's in sad shape. He keeps trying to find the dwarf who trained him, and then passing out. A few minutes later, he'll wake up, take another few steps, and pass out again. I'm tempted to have him put out of his misery by the butcher, but nobody will touch him and seems a sad way to treat someone who fought off the mandrills. The puppy is still running around with half his chest missing."

Oh I read Boatmurdered numreous times, amazing story told in great way. :D

I use LazyNewbPack, it has it all in it - tilesets, fixes and mods for more efficient gameplay.
I used to use Phoebus tileset, but since support for it was dropped I started using Ironhand. Both are awesome, very easy to see through and just pleasant to the eye :)

In the LNP, I disable Aquifers because I have trauma related to them, everything else I leave at the default options. 120 pop cap etc. I also set an autosave on yearly, to avoid more trauma :D
Of course enable DFhack, also I use DwarfTheRapist for easier job management.

Recently Armok Vision was updated with more sprites and it also allows you to control the game throught the Armok Vision :o So basically, DF is a HD 3D game now :D

It's a GLOBAL HEAD Ewok.

Of course Poland is eastern European.

The Berlin Wall divided Western Germany from Eastern Germany. Therefore everything right of Germany must be eastern.

Duh.

I understand why eastern european became an insult to some, but come on its not like they have 120% technology cost or they still need to westernize?  :P
In our day and age, its way more a still-to-be-decided geographical delimitation than a measure of enlightment.

Well.. Butan... I uhm. ok how to say this.

But, say you are right. And those countries shouldnt be with 120% tech cost and needing to westernize.. cause of irl. But if we now take irl, do you still think 25%-40% for those countries further to the east is accurate? One could argue, those shitholes countries should be somewhere at 75%.. you know..  :P

But its a funny way to play around with in thoughts. Quite awful how some countries made themselves to be more shit and technology deprived then in history  :|

Oh btw, i hit 2500 hours yesterday.. i can be such a nerd

Y-y-you so mean

Everyone were using cavalry at the time, can't find anything about using mostly cav though (logically it would be infantry). Any sources?

Cavalry accounted for sth like 10% of the whole polish army in 1939. Btw,

Quote
The German Army entered World War II with 514,000 horses,[13] and over the course of the war employed, in total, 2.75 million horses and mules;[16] the average number of horses in the Army reached 1.1 million.[26]

Every time I spy a mounted police officer I'm always surprised by how huge their purpose-bred horses are. Just bred to look as big and solid as possible. Wouldn't fancy seeing one of those charging at me, still some good intimidation off such a large beast.

Yea, but then again. I'd rather have such a horse charge at me than a fucking tank.

His name was Julius and he was a literal rescue from the forest where his mom rejected him, apparently. Caught a wirus which caused an untreatable sickness/disease (his stomach was slowly filling with a liquid that made eating nigh impossible, he was malnourished when I took this photo) and had to be put down today. I figured a dead forum for a dead mod is fitting for this post :(
