Use this thread to voice your opinions about the current maps. If a map has got it's own thread, discuss it in there. If you want a specific map hosted on those siege servers, post your suggestion here and let others discuss it.


The following maps are currently in the map rotation: (screenshots in spoilers)

- Hailes Castle: Native siege map, unmodified

- Turin Castle:
  Native siege map, I added an invisible barrier above the portcullis, not sure if it was exploitable on this map, but you can never be too careful.

- Jameyyed Castle:

  Native siege map. The sally door has been removed, the ladder to the wall from the courtyard has been moved to that place.
  Another staircase has been added near the ladder to the right of the gate.

I think Hailes Castle is a tad too easy as attacker.

- As a defender you can spawn on the wall over the house. AFAIK there is no way to get directly to the flag from there. Either you jump off the house and loose half of your hp or you have to go all the way across the wall to reach the stairs which takes quite long. Perhaps add a ladder next to the house?
- maybe sorround the flag with a wall with a breakable door? (would look artifical though)

For the sake of argument consider the Gate to be facing North.
If you are on the house in the rear, got the Northwestern most corner (where the tree is i think) and you can jump down without damage. Alternatively, you can jump off the walls next to the gatehouse onto the thatch roofs without taking any damage either.

A bit off-topic but the EU1 & EU2 maps need urgent attention, from all the tons of custom maps out there we have mostly native random village maps, that are mostly crap, unbalanced and sometimes with bugged spawns. NA servers have far better maps, so does EU4 I don't know why we don't get them on EU1. But it doesn't surprise me considering Jameyyed Castle hasn't been removed from rotation and it's been several months since it appeared.

Yeah i dont think its to hard if people really defend the gatehouse.
It gets very difficult if attackers glitch ladders into the gateroom so they can jump in
there wihtout getting damage from the room above....

Solution: Place a grid in the hole so you can shoot down but cant jump down anymore from above.

I played on SeaRaid and there was no chance to defend this castle. It takes one Ladder to get to the flag and capture it...

Nobody knows the password. The server gets locked with a password automatically when its full, then when enough players leave it gets unlocked. It's too prevent people spamming the server with connection requests.

You are wrong, the server empties (=no pw) and refills (= pw) all the time, you just need to check more often

Hello there,

i want to ask if there is a possibiltie to implement some of the maps which have been on EU4 since siege is gone there.
There are 3 maps and i liked them perhaps some need further balancing but they had nice gameplay.

First was a wooden fort with a  river and the flag inside the fort on top of the hill near some burning stuff.
I liked this one very much for the melee fights.

Second was a huge castle with a siege tower at the left side a hole in the wall with a ladder at the right side.
There was a backdoor too leading to flag on the backside. Inside the castle there were two areas one you had to
pass if you came from siege tower and one with backdoor and the way leading down through a house coming from the ladder.
Inside this area the flag was positioned. Tbh some people said it lagged but i didnt feel so. Very good map.

Third was a sarrranid??? castle with low walls and the flag in a kind of backyard. Maybee this one was the least balanced of the 3 but
i liked the fast gameplay.

Im sorry i dont know the maps but i guess pecores could help out with the files on those.
Perhaps other people also do miss those maps.

EU6 has (currently) instant respawn on Siege-mode.
This is very nice as defender, but the opposite as attacking force.

Is this intentional ?

EU_cRPG_6 has password all afternoon today and it is hard to play on NA server due to high ping.
Any chance of getting 5 back?

EDIT: now EU 5 open, locked and 0/80 on & EU6 locked 69/80 on; NA OK but almost all on are from EU so too laggy     :(
         please EU4 come back...

I have terrible lag on EU 6 dunno what is causing it :( I changed all my settings double and nothing seems to work, i talked with some my mates and they say they also have this problem. I was almost buying a new comp within my rage :) But since i see it's not only me i would ask if there are people that don't lag ?

Jammadi Castle (blank 34) needs some serious overhaul or to be removed.
the usual way it goes is that attackers win this map almost every time, this map is very unbalanced.
it's way to easy to reach the flag with ladders to bypass the main doors and the surrounding flag walls and when the attackers are at the flag it's very hard to remove them since there's no good shoot in positions for the defenders, attackers already got those with their ladders over the walls, u just get overrun or shot as defender.
If i left something out, feel free to add  :P

Is there word on decreasing the time limit?  I recall in all my games yesterday, numbering around 30 in total, the attackers won all but one of them.  And that one was a near run thing. 

You need to decide on a time limit and balance every single map accordingly.

Most native maps are too easy to attack, it's true. But some custom ones are in contrary quite easy to defend. I think it evens out.

I don't know if you are aware of the issue, but these servers crash A LOT. It just happened again on EU_cRPG_2, when it switched to a new map, after 20 kb downloaded, connection lost. Then I waited a few min and tried to find it again in the server list, but it was gone.

Both servers are down atm.
the error was the same that zagibu wrote in the last post. the next map was an updated one (my forest_attack tbh.) and the server crashed 10 seconds after map download started. first eu_5 and the same problem 10 mins later on eu_2  .

aren't there some more ppl you trust who can get the rights to restart those servers? only cmp espu and chadz himself are far to less.
eu_5 and eu_2 are down now for more than four hours now and noone online to restart them.

Yes, it should be fixed now after the next server restart. The map file somehow got corrupted when I uploaded it to the server.

Some of the custom maps are not the newest version, e.g. Warkworth Castle (old version is fine for me), and Jammadi Castle (new version would be better). Maybe there are more, wasn't on a full cycle...

what ever is blank 181 or similar to a floating map in the sky above the ocean that has freakish glowing lights at spawn, should be removed. I was in a game today in NA_Siege that had one guy with -22 kills and the smae amount of deaths all because he sucks at jumping. Also torwards the end of the map the auto blanace put 78 people on one side and kept 2 on the other. Either way this map sucks please remove it :D

Also: ulbout castle needs more than one entrance, way to hard to win for attackers if theres 80 people in the server because the siege tower is just a plank of death. Other players who im playing with now also want spiral stair case removed. the one that looks like its from LOTR.

Ok well thats prolly it for most maps and nice rotation but the lack of an admin on at any given point to change the rotation gets REAL annoying.

Really eu_2 is a laggy crap server, its like playing on na....

Same for eu_3, the strat battles on the old server have never been so laggy.. my ping is jumping from 19 when the server is empty to 50++ when the server is full.

This server desperately needs more admins. Every time I'm playing on it, I see people doing stuff that warrants a ban (teamattacking, teamkilling, destroying friendly ladders, etc.).

Reporting doesn't bring the wanted results, so a few assholes can keep on ruining round after round.

It shouldn't be a 120ppl server. It can't even handle 90 ppl. Ladders sink into walls and general lag makes it hard to enjoy.

It shouldn't be a 120ppl server. It can't even handle 90 ppl. Ladders sink into walls and general lag makes it hard to enjoy.

I liked it in the first moment... cool 120 guys... now i wished they put it back to 80 cause its lagging to much with 120 players.
Perhaps cut it on 100 if you dont want to go back the full way but dont let it stay with 120 man.

Its a pity Leiknir isnt active anymore he always put new interessting maps on the server.
I guess the only way to get your map on server now is to talk to mylet and as far as i know
there havnt been any new maps on eu siege since leiknir vanished.

Greipfurt and Khirin, it takes slightly too long from spawn to reach the flag area due to a long walk or uphill

Do you mean before or after the server connection became throttled and anything over 20 people is unplayable?

Before the current problems, Eu 2 was constantly full and Eu 5 was near capacity as well. Not sure when you are playing, probably not during peek hours?

But sure, new maps, yay?

Well, Ive been concentrating on scening, but when I check around midday, the server has like 20 players, when Pecores has around hundred. It used to be the other way round a week ago or so. I might be wrong, but thats the way Ive seen it.

The reason are the lags. The official EU servers are quite unplayable at the moment.

The official cRPG servers automatically get password-protected, when full. The password is not public. Once enough players have quit, the password will be cleared again. Just wait 5-10 Minutes and you should be able to join.

I had a bug sometimes ago where i had longer respawn time but spawned
with 2-4 secs left on counter.

Yes it is. M&B is karma-aware, you know. There is actually more to it: you also get slight damage, speed, armor and hp decreases along with a minimal upkeep increase.

could use some editing, since the last patch removed ladders, these are very hard to take, u often observe that defenders win in these maps 5/6 times  :idea:
Unuzdaq only has one access point to the flag and Inch Tuck has a layout that makes it easy to defend the flag.

Yeah Banner-balance has to be reworked for Siege, as it is now its just Xp-farm for organised clans who when they join the first round just sit in spectator and try and join only when they think they end up in the "right" team to keep their x5. IMO, if you spend a round as a spectator your multiplier should be reset to 1.

Sometimes it feels like you have three options being an unclanned player on EU2:

- Stay and be farmed
- Quit or move to Battle
- Change your banner (the cowards way out).

Server 5 is for low levels only now, you should change that in the OP.
Level 20+ need to go to server 2 for seige.
