HOW TO JOIN.1. READ THE NINJA GUIDE
1. APPLY IN THE NINJA THREAD (this one)
2. CHANGE YOUR NAME TO Ninja_
a. Log into a crpg server with your new Ninja_Name
b. quit warband
c. log into the website with your new char-name
d. log out
e. log in with your old name (without the ninja)
f. now look where you can change your name. Do it.
g. Wait. it can take a couple of days for your new name to be activated.
3. WRITE YOUR CHAR-NAME IN YOUR FORUM PROFILE
a. Go to your profile settings
b. At the bottom there should be a spot called MP-Nick. Write your Ninja_Name there.
4. HOW TO JOIN STRATEGUS
a. Apply in www.crpg.net. Theres a small checkbox there
b. wait, might take a day or 2 weeks.
c. Soon you will get a link to Strategus on your profile. Move your char to the Ninja territory in the North-West
d. Move close to a Ninja and click his name, then click on faction and ask to join

SO YOU WANT TO BE A NINJA.ONE thing has to be very very clear for every ninja. You will make it more difficult for yourself. It is for them that WANTS to make life more difficult.. Your armor can never be as strong as 80% of other players. You will be vulnerable to strikes against head, you will have problems in crowded groups, and the range of the Katana is shorter than the Scimitar. It is for hard core players so think twice before starting a Ninja char. A lot of the pleasure comes from knowing you are undergeared but still kill ppl. And of course take pleasure from the Ninja-hate that is growing.. Anyway I'm sure lesser Ninjas will give up quite fast anyway..
Personally for me it started when I wanted to create a Ninja alt for fun. I was bored with my Bardische swinging heavy armor char, that could swipe the battlefield clean.

THE RANK SYSTEMThis system is free for all to follow. Later perhaps other players will join us as followers, and might throw away their heavy gear and weapons for becoming Ninjas.
DUELING RULES (NEW):
a. Duels must be a FAIR DUEL. (That means accepted by both parts.)
b. That means no interruptions by other players if in cRPG
c. Both agree in chat to duel beforehand.
d. If you can avoid it, don't duel when you are on the same team. It hurts your team, and winning chances of the other 50 players.
e. Don't expect other players to stay away during the duel. It is their Right to kill you. Only courtesy may keep them away.
f. In duel servers, it is best out of 3 that wins. Warm up rounds allowed and recommended.
f. Black Hood duels is a special case. They MUST take place in another duel server. IF possible on a high spot with risk of fall damage, but not required if such a spot is not availble. (I strongly recommend top of the stone tower in Nditions though.)RANK NO.1 You have to be
lvl 18 to participate in the ranking system.
Before this you cannot wear any head armor!
RANK NO.2 To gain the second rank and being able to wear the Green Hood:

"Red Cross" (in Bronze, silver and Gold)Kill and document it with resized screens: His Holiness the Pope Asdimanus, 2 Grand Masters, 2 Knight Marshals, 8 Knight Brothers and 16 Sword Brothers. (Gold is all (29) of the above, silver is 20, and Bronze is 10) When you document, make a list of kills and maintain it in the same post. Crop and resize all pics and spoiler them. When you reach a new level, you may post a new post in the main thread with link to the original but updated post/list.
THE NINJA LOOK1. What does a Ninja look like?
This is important because this is what other players will know us like. If a Ninja looks like whatever then there will be no signifier to know us by. Of course Ninja could use disguises, but one should always disguise as a lesser minion, so enemies will underestimate you. Here is some examples of what a Ninja should NOT look like:

loginNo.1 Mistakes: boots, Luis Vuitton armor, helmet, sabre.
No.2 Everything. The Samurai are our Arch-Enemies! Hammer.
No.3 Varyag! Way Way too much armor. Silly hat, but note that the hat could be used in disguises. SHIELD!
No.4 Oberyn tries to look like a Ninja but can you spot the mistake? Yes. The headcloth, we can see he's getting old and loosing hair.
No.5 Close, but no cigar! Boots of course. The armor is a nice Ninjaesque intermittent choice for Ninjabegginners.
No.6 Nice style, and style is important. The head-armor works for desert-work. Unfortunately he is using scimi+shield, something that stands for exactly what Ninjas are against.
No.7 Gnjus! He can never be a Ninja like that. But perhaps there will be a Ninja_Gnjus one day?
1b. Now what does the Ninja look like?
For main ninja outfit there are 1 rule set in stone. HOOD & BLACK BOOTS. At the moment there are only a few armors that fit the Ninja style:

Black Robe, Steppe Armor, Light Leather & Lammelar vest.

loginNomad Armor could as well work as an intermidiate. Lammelar vest is the current standard, and highest tier armor allowed. (Khergit Lammelar also ok, follow your taste.)

loginNINJA WEAPONS
As a beginner Ninja the classic weapons are your only choices. This is important because it will force you to learn to move in a clever way on the battlefield. As you move on to purple hood you may use any melee and throwing weapon you like, except you must always carry your katana or hafted blade. Only black hoods are allowed to use ranged weapons.
These rules are in place to secure your ninja education ;-) The most important weapon you have is your mind, and your feet. Much more important than dueling skill, which will come eventually.
Classic Ninja Weapons:
1. Katana
2. Nodachi (looks awesome together with Katana)
3. Hafted Blades
4. Shurikens
5. Pike (Concealed 3m long weapon, how's that for ninja surprise against cav and others)
6. Bamboo spear
7. All staffsJust remember, STYLE is important. If you are after buying heavy armor, great axes etc, find another guild. On the other hand we are not chocolate chip cookies, and some creativity is most welcome!
NINJA TACTICSThis part will definitely expand as more Ninjas come with their inputs! Here is my experiences for a start.
BACKSTABBING
Do I need to say it? Best way to do it is with an overhead swing to the head. Couple of pointers: remember to take out your weapon a good distance away or he might hear you doing so. Sometimes its fun to play with as well. Simply unsheathing the weapon and watch the poor archer's reaction to the sound..
LONG ENCIRCLEMENT
The main thing to allow backstabbing. I almost always try to sneak around the main group by quite a long distance. It might look far away on the map, but in reality you are only 10-15 seconds away from main group. Here's a screen of what "my" distance look like:

loginSHORT ENCIRCLEMENT
If you have some points in Athletics you can try this. Ignore the first few that try to go after you. Most will give up very soon, and you can move in directly towards their ranged units.
KITING
If you see a large group coming after you, run far away and draw them away from their main group. You will most probably die, but by doing it secured a win for the team. If you have high athletics you can sometimes survive :-)
DISGUISE OF APPEARANCE
At a certain level, don't hesitate dressing up as a peasant or other lowly character to confuse your enemies. Shield allowed in disguise. Many a time I have suprised cavalry with a sudden pike and a quick slash with the Katana.
DISGUISE OF INTENT
Learn to look around you with the TILDE button, next to the 1 key. Nothing is like pretending to look the other way to take down cavalry. Or to suddenly turn around and slash an enemy in the face. Always pretend you are not looking. Change direction to another enemy, but turn around to kick ass. etc etc :) share your stories pls!
USING TERRAIN AND GLITCHING
Glitching is allowed according to chadz and others. Besides Ninjas would of course use dirty tricks like this.
Hiding in rocks and Trees:

loginNote that you cannot hide in all trees. The bigger the better :-) Sometimes its also possible to swing around trees ultrafast. Try walking sideways against a tree, keeping walking towards the tree. Try it!

Firebombs through walls.. yes. They burn through walls, hitting enemies on the other side. If you throw it a little bit away from the wall, they won't even see the smoke.

PERSONAL SKILL & TRAININGVery important for a Ninja. (of course)
I can only say a little bit about this: Read the Warband Infantry Primer, watch the Videos.. (http://forums.taleworlds.com/index.php/topic,87133.0.html)
And spend some time in Duel Servers! Duel servers, even for a couple of hours a week really sharpens your reactions.
Remember that to be a Black Hood, you must have been no.1 on your team at end of round & defeated another Black hood in a Fair Duel. Black Hoods should be feared by all players :-)
NINJA BUILDS WARNING OUTDATED
This is entirely up to you, but I recommend high AGI, at least 12. AGI adds to the speed of swings and facilitates Athletics and WPF points converting. Remember to max out WPM at 3 or 4 before starting to convert. Also specialized characters benefit. Don't put a few points here and there. Choose 1 or 2 weapon proficiencies and keep it at that.
For my Ninja_Thomek I find 130 is enough in 2 handers, and the really sweet spot for throwing (daggers) is 110-120.
Also chadz has implemented a backstage doubling of Athletics points. Now you can really run fast! (Max is 15 hardcoded, so no point getting more than 7 1/2 Athletics.You are welcome to PM me if you have questions!
