Soloq matchmaking is nice, 4 stack on my team vs 5 stack on other, im the only one without a party and have no idea what people are doing because they probably sit on skype or something.

It's pretty easy to know what it is like to play a hero after you see his skills and see others playing him.

I used to only pick a few heroes because most others looked boring to me, but after randoming them i actually found out that they are pretty fun to play..

I played exclusively Single Draft when I started just to learn and play all the heroes a few times. Some people do advise sticking to easier/same heroes to learn other basics about Dota2 and then go on and learn heroes, but I think if you can handle constantly playing new heroes while also learning the basics of the game you should do it.

Of course, it's best to play all heroes when you're learning the game, but there's nothing wrong with only playing a handful, either. That's what the pros do, as well: you're not going to REALLY learn to be good with more than half a dozen or so heroes.

Yes, in pubs they do. It's not a big wonder when they spend ten hours a day practicing a few heroes in CWs that they'd random for pubs. However, most people don't first practice ten hours in CWs and then pub a little, most people only pub.

Hm solo queueing is fun, 2 people random TA and wisp, both repick so i pick mid hero, then someone else picks mid aswell so i give it to him as i can offlane aswell. Then someone else picks spectre, okay fine a hard carry. Then juggs, okay enough carries already last please pick support.. what does he pick? natures prophet. I swear this game is fucking trolling me this is like the average game im having right now, if i pick support my carries suck ass and mid does nothing, if i pick mid we have a full carry team and if i jungle all lanes are lost.

Its even harder to properly lane people aswell, mid goes support safe, offlane goes mid and random carry goes offlane solo.

Been playing Ember Spirit lately, went up 200 rating in ~12 games with him. He's pretty damn awesome, lots of skill-based stuff, has a massive impact from early to late, can stop pushes solo (the bigger their push the more damage they take), doesn't need to afk farm half of the game and can still carry late game. Great either solo mid or safelane, 1x tangos, QB->Bottle->OoV->BoTravels->2x Battlefuries->Crystalis->1x Battlefury->Daedalus->BKB/Linkens/Divine Rapier. Skillbuild is max SoF by level 7, Chains 3 by 8 (ulti at 6), then take Flame Guard after the first two skills are maxed.

I recommend trying it, it's not only extremely effective, it's tons of fun.

Hm, I'd like Ember Spirit if he wasn't so damn squishy. He's like Lion when it comes to health points, the hero screams Drum of Endurance. He does have a good gank potential (I'd max Flame Guard + chains for ganking though) and is fun to play. This was my last game with the hero:

Then again, I find Earth Spirit even more fun to play. That hero is so good in early game it's ridiculous. 14 games so far played with him, 71% winrate, all solo queue. Most of the loses were because we couldn't finish fast enough even though we had a good early game.

Health doesn't matter too much since you escape every time unless you're permastunned from start to finish. You definitely shouldn't skip SoF, though. Maxed at level 7 it means nobody can stay in lane against you, plus the damage is good in ganks as well, and it means you can apply your Chains from a safe distance. You're so squishy you don't really want to be close enough to use Flame Guard.

One of the guys I play with loves Ember. He is brutal once his farm is up. Just watching the damage out put in a fight with all heroes + creeps is pretty bad ass and he doesn't even have to get in close.

Anyone tried a reverse captainsmode game? It's pretty fun doing it with friends. Just pick some bad combo for the other team and fun times will be had.
