General Off Topic / scavenging

today i had a special task. (yeah, a nice change of my daily routine)

one ex-customer of ours owes some people (including us) something over 300000 € and now he is on the run.
as it is quite unlikely that we get the money back the mission was to fetch back all of our equipment.
last friday we had a small survey with the landlord and today all of the stuff was transported back to our company.

General Off Topic / first world problems

bad luck for me today.
i was on the way to my work via the autobahn 2. that´s one of the major east/west-routes here in germanyland.
heavy traffic is quite common here, so i have ignored the traffic jam warning of the automatic traffic info, because i still had plenty of time left and my exit was only 6 kilometres away.
big mistake.
in the radio news they have told me that there was an heavy accident with at least five lorries near my exit, great. estimated delay was one hour.

looks like some small-time criminals in search of some easy cash.
anyway, they have put "high" effort to get into some parts of the building.

the ground floor was easy, there they only needed to pry open a window but they could not use the hallways or the stairs without to trigger the motion detector.
so they have broken loose some wooden beams (they are used as bumpers at the housewall), climbed on top of a lorry and smashed the beams through a window in the upper floor.

unfortunately for them, we rebuild the upper floor and the office was empty.
they have tried to get into other ones as well, but again motion detectors at the hallway.

in the end their only loot were some cigarette packs. this was a bit disappointing. the whole yard is filled with pallets of beverages and not a single crate was missing.

even the money of the vending machine was still there. well they have tried to open it, but they could not break the cash box.

Blackguards is available as early access on Steam for a while and the first chapter is already playable.
Its a storydriven  tactical RPG ( a bit like Expeditions: Conquistador) based on the "the dark eye" aka "Das schwarze Auge" lore and ruleset.

So far the story is pretty interesting and the battles are fun and later quite challenging.

My gang and me on a typical battle map. they work with a simple move/action system (like xcom or shadowrun) and you can use the environment to your advantage as well (on this map the water tiles are quite slippery)

Obviously there is no open world, you have only some points of interest which can be inspected. Dungeons work similar, there is a small map with several waypoints, most of the time you have to fight but sometimes you have to solve a riddle, too.

The towns and villages are only slightly animated pictures and you have to click on the icons to trade or to stay at the inn.

The only thing what i do not like is that there is no real character customisation. You can change toe faces and the hair a bit but there are only three starting professions (aka classes) and there is no way to reallocate some skillpoints.

WSE2 Beta / wse2 messes up my hair

it does not seem a bug, but maybe some textures are handled differently.
i have tried different graphic settings, but the result is always the same, some parts are transparent.

left image is with wse 2, the  right one without.

since there were some speculations but no concrete answers i have used my current char generation for a small test if the strength has an effect on your movement speed.

to make it short, there is none.

it looks like that i need some fighters again. 

16th of august on EU3 at 15.43 against el_banditos (k, los_banditos would be more correct).

if you join my side, then you can dress like me (except for the buckler, it is too expensive and too crappy for the battlefield) and i have cookies and coffee as well.

Suggestions Corner / grapple move for polearms

is it possible to add a grapple attack against polearms, so that they get bumped if you are really close like the one we have for ranged fighters now?

the realism reason, if you are close enough, then you can grab in the weapon of your opponent to get an advantage.
the biased selfish reason, i am sick of of it that polearms clip through teammates and walls and are able to hit you even if you stand right under their nose.

This time a few from the Fallen Brigade. Looks like, that i need a few soldiers again (Monday 21.53 and i guess it will be EU3 nah it is NA3, great).

cRPG Technical problems / v0.261 siege equipment bug

Well, it is an old one.
If you deploy your construction site or siege shield, then it will not clear your used slots.
So if you try to loot a weapon, you will drop another new cs/siege shield, which can be picked up again.

Scene Editing / siege map flaws

Well, there was another topic for a specic map, but i d not find it anymore.
Thats is why i have made this one.

Anyway, most of the flaws are just annoying but some other are quite serious.

I have forgotten the name of the map, but it is the one with the two backdoors left and right.
But they are hardly used by anyone, since it is easier to climb over the hills, what randers the walls quite useless.

And then the castle at the deep lake.
The gate is no real hurdle, all you need is a ladder and a volunteer to open it from inside.
I think there is a kind of roof needed, so that the defenders have a second more to kill the suicide jumper.

On the map with the small harbour you can clipp through the ground.
Well it is not that serious, because a few meters away you can jump out of the water to reach the bridge.

On the desert map with the little maze you can jump over the barricades with some practice.

I do not know the current name, but back then it was the dragon castle.
There are some invisible barriers at the gate tower. These hinder you to jump to the roofs to destroy some cheap ladders to the flag.

Strategus / Dhirim local fence shop

A few days ago i have ... found  some creates of thick leather gloves.
I have needed only one pair, maybe someone else has a use for it.

You can it for 15 gold for each pair in the back alley behind the backery.
Ask limping John if his knee has hurt yesterday and he will show you the stuff.
