I was looking at some videos of Rust and it seems really interesting. I was wondering if anybody has gotten it already and has an educated opinion on whether its a good buy.

Goddamit Teeth, at least leave link to gameplay video if you're don't want to embed it yourself.

Edit:

Edit2: I'm also sure there's a topic about this game laying somewhere.

How can you call my topic shit and then open this one?¿ :D

Game switched to steam, haven't played since then. If i get my gameaccount back like promised back then i might share it or just give the key away to whoever likes.
It's not bad, but i prefer the darker world of DayZ.

Been playing it, a lot of admin abusers I find spawning them or their friends items and teleporting around (Have had this happen in both servers I've started in). Game is still in the early stages not a bad game though really fun with friends. Getting griefed is kinda part of the game so don't get too comfortable.

Me and some of the Byzantium gang went ahead and bought it for 18.99 euros. Played on a server with 250(!) people and had extreme difficulties meeting up, could barely find any rocks to mine and were getting killed by murder gangs continously. In like 2 hours I managed to meet up once, then I died. I managed to find enough stone to create a stone hatchet once and I literally got killed 3 seconds after by a hatchet wielding maniac. He was hitting non stop from like 5 meters away and I didn't understand how or how I could hit him. Game seems pretty well optimized though, but the lack of basic resources was really damn annoying. I'll try a smaller server next time I guess, perhaps there were so few rocks because the amount that spawns doesn't scale for that amount of players.

isnt there already a thread on this game?
It had like 3 posts and was dead for ages.

Lower pop server is key. Some frisian bundle of stickss and I played yesterday and had a ton of fun making a base and raiding the zombie town.

some darkfall friends are playing and saying its really good but it has a steep price tag, and I'm trying to make myself not buy into alphas because its a great way to burn out on a game before its even complete

Well we had a really nice session with 5 Byzantines today, nobody even died a single time, we have been swimming in resources. Played on a much lower population server and it is a lot better. Got two guns and a noice but very small house with a metal door. It works pretty well in its current state, few bugs, good fun. Playing alone is probably rather rough though. It has so much ways in which the experience can get expanded by just adding more items to craft but it probably already offers a few dozen hours before boredom kicks in. In its current state I already don't regret buying it and there is a lot of potential for more.

After a few more hours:

So purdy.
