It's beyond funny to me when people complain about two handed swords being bug abuse. Are people still struggling to block "lol feints" after all this time?

I complain about it because it's insurmountably easier to use than any other class, 1h sword is tied for second ever since the thrust done goofed.

god I'm sick of this old and exaggerated 2h prejudice. Yes it is hero class, yes it is very strong and versatile, yes it was OP back in the days, but right now it is easy as fuck to do equally good with other melee classes.

Nothing was changed, it is still the easiest due to it's retard animations, imbalanced speed / damage vs poles, ability to use all of your attacks in tight corridors and group fights, etc, etc, etc.

Btw, knockdown chance on most 1h weapons is about 15% compared to nearly the double with 2h knockdown, yet people always complain about 1h knockdown because it knocks you down instead of killing you.

The difference being when someone hits you with a great maul, long maul (other 2h/polearm knockdown weapons) generally it is acceptable to be knocked down. They tend to be slow, heavy weapons and being knocked down or crushed to death seems fair.

When someone comes spamming a military hammer (or other knockdown 1h weapon) the idea that this little, much quicker weapon can so easily knock you down seems ridiculous. It also causes a lot of 1-handers to use knockdown weapons rather than cut/pierce as there is basically no down side, damages all armor types and often gives you a free hit on the ground.


I'm not saying 1h knockdown needs to be changed, just that you (or at least I) can clearly see why it's so freckin annoying and makes people range. (that and the getting ganked whilst knocked down, though Paul's roll feature hopefully combats this a bit. I haven't managed to remember to use it so far in a real knock down situation lol)

Maybe if you couldn't kick them up for then to knock them down again while keeping knockdown chance the same? Was always quite retarded, even though I love doing it in strategus sieges when I play my dismounted 1h cav. :P

Um I can't use my sword indoors at all, and I team wound in large groups lol.  You don't know what your talking about.   And on top of that your off topic.  Go start a 2h is too easy post.

I don't know any high-tier players that complain about 2h animations. It just seems as though the people complaining about 2h are the ones that won't put the effort into learning how to counter it.

My post wasn't to single out only 1h weapons.  Alot of 2h and pole knockdown weapons aren't that slow really.  I don't know if it's a mechanic changed or ppl are just putting all there points into Str now, I dunno but it's crap, and the percent chance to knockdown just needs to be tweaked a bit.  Problem solved

lol, maybe in murica. However, in Australasia and from what I've seen of Europe, a good player will do well with any weapon.

3 ps and 29 blunt is all that you need to max out knockdown chance
barmace have max 38 blunt at max with 92 speed
warhamer have 34 blunt with 97 speed and is not unbalanced

Both of you are right. That 4 blunt difference is like hitting with 2 more PS + 6 strength, quite nontrivial. The amount of PS needed to get the maximum knockdown chance is way too low and the chance is ~15% and lower for the 1h weapons and in the 20s for the other weapons. I personally believe that knockdown should only happen only if a certain condition has been met such as during a kick, nudge, or swing so it'd be easier to expect. The required raw damage to achieve maximum knockdown % should also be much higher.

Way to ignore a reach difference of 32, and a difference of 4 blunt is not small by any standard
