Tried that game too. Played for a week then gave up.  The combat was your average lame MMO combat. But to its credit , it really was better then some other games in its class for some odd reason. I did end up playin it more then I originally thought.

The instrument controls are totally awesome, I'll give it that.

A few that I'm keeping an eye on (not all will be free mind you):

Everquest Next
Wildstar
The Repopulation
Archeage
Embers of Caerus
Albion Online
Gloria Victis
Black Desert

I'm sure I have forgotten a few. I've told myself to start writting them down but I'm too lazy. It's hard to keep track when you have so many on your mind.

There really is none. NOOOOONE! Ive tried the same stuff with my friends aswell. Been on this road for long time now. All MMOs suck after playin Warband long enough. All of em. For some time I thought the only proper MMOs would be shipMMOs, or something where you bombard n00bs and stuff. Then atleast you dont have to have some shitty usual mano e mano MMOmeleecombat and dream about Warband while fighting. But those suck too. NFS online was okay for a day or 2. But it definately does not have enough appeal to try and grind it for months or something. You will quit fast I assure you.

because they all try to be wowkiller, which is boring itself. the mmorpgs are as stale as piss, thats why they are not worth playing.

Fallen earth

think a post apocalypse fps mmo, with absolute freedom, a awesome player driven economy and a super deep crafting system (basically, you craft every damn thing you need, this aint no "loot poopin out a dragons ass" you gotta scav for a living!)

the starting section is a bit slow, and the tutorial is lacking, but once you get to the second sector, thats when the game opens up- with its amazing faction system and uber fun open world pvp
You are a horrible human being clockwork.

Neverwinter was pretty lame indeed.

Try Starwars The Old Republic, its free now with little drawbacks when not subscribing. Questing is actually fun, with dialogue options etc. Im lvl 27 so far and the combat is very good, lots of abilities to use, interrupts, instants etc. Havent tried the PvP yet but im guessing it will be fairly good. Great combat, fun questing and ofcourse its in the starwars universe which is pretty cool i must say.

'worth it' is a funny phrase to use for a free game xD you don't lose anything by giving something a go.

If your time is worthless, anyway.

If you want lots of grind and don't mind playing alone and if you neither hate bots, try Silkroad Online R (SRO-R). SRO was released in 2005 and is a Korean grinder. It's actually an amazing game and was fine to play 2005-early 2008. People started botting in 2007 and they still do.
Cap is at 120 now and anything above lvl 80 is taking a lot (A LOT) of time. If you play without bot for 3 hours a day and know what you do, you may take about 2 months to lvl 70 (since SRO-R leveling goes really quick, they also added lots of quests and lowered SP requirements).

If you know the game, you wouldn't start playing though but it's still one of the best MMO's I ever played. If you love grinding, PvP for example ain't possible below lvl 115-120.

Sorry, Christo :D

Anyway, I tried Neverwinter, wasn't overly impressed. Still felt like a typical MMO with nothing new to offer, like Guild Wars 2. Age of Wushu was kinda interesting, but I just couldn't be bothered with it in the end.

Another MMO to potentially keep an eye on is this: http://www.kickstarter.com/projects/13861848/camelot-unchained. A successor to Dark Age of Camelot.

My main problem with MMO's is how stagnant the entire genre is. I see no reason to play any of them because I know that within 30 minutes the game will have me kill random animals for random reasons. They're all so terribly dull. My favourite part of WoW was instancing, raiding and PvP, and still most MMO's force me to spend at least half of my time grinding. I got better things to do than that.

I'm hoping for an MMO that would reduce the grind and the only possible MMO that might do that is a PvP MMO. The worst part about random grind questing is that MMO's are meant to be social, and there's nothing social about grinding quests.
