I still enjoy the show, but there is a lot to criticize, you really can't deny that. With so little time left it was awful of them to actually introduce a whole new plot in Winterfell just to kill off Baelish. Sansa should have figured it out without Bran or Arya and it'd have been done within an episode or two, leaving more time for the citadel, the tarlies, Varys, or Melisandre for example. The magnificent seven needed more screentime, too.

GRRM only giving major plotpoints is a big fucking problem for the show. It's not about the journey to these plotpoints anymore, it's just about the events themselves. And it's a tough thing to do, trying to get into the head of someone who probably has a clear vision of how it will turn out in the books.

Good finale. Nothing surprising happened, but a lot of fanservice, so that's nice. And thank fuck noone's going to wear Littlefingers face. Still wished the whole winterfell-ordeal would have been dealt in a different manner, but his death was well done.

Alright, the consensus seems to be that Arya wears Littlefingers face to keep the vale behind the north. I really hate that theory but everything points towards that happening. Now, i thought about how they could include the same thing but with a little twist that would make the plot in WF worth it again: Sansa fails to see Arya has been playing with her all along, however she finds out what Littlefinger did(Everything!). May that be through Bran or LF himself (In a last hooray-scheming), doesn't matter. What would she do? Being pushed over the edge with the confirmation that LF is behind Ned's Ded, she fucking flips. She grabs the dagger Arya gave to her and stabs the snake. ONLY IT'S ARYA WEARING HIS FACE BECAUSE SHE KILLED HIM ALREADY.

One thing that speaks highly against this happening is that GRRMs wife said he shouldn't kill off Arya, but we're past his power now and he could, and hopefully will, think of another plot for Winterfell while Juan Snow is busy down south (And by down south i mean Danys vagina, ba-dum-ts). Arya is most likely to let her guard down when she's close to Sansa, even while wearing another face, because let's pretend that she's the scheming master in WF now and the sisterbrawl is all just pretend, too.

It will be absolutely fucking heartbreaking after Sansa finally took matters into her own hands only to find out Littlefinger screwed the Starks one last time after his death, but it would fit in the character-arc of LF so much, being the true master of deceit, and Arya was in over her head once again.

Am i being a maniac or is this something you see logically happening? Or where did i go wrong? Not a very elaborate theory, but i think you got the idea.

Just gonna copy-paste what i wrote over on reddit, but i was trying to find a way they could resolve Winterfell in a true GoT way and i would like to hear what you stonecold critics think of it =P

Could be a long wait. On top of waiting for release and people to mod in some kind of strategus I would rather play something than nothing.

I'll still try it out, but i highly doubt it'll actually grow back into a decent playerbase. Strat with less than hundred players sounds absolutely boring, no matter how good the mode is. Don't get me wrong, i really want to see okam succeed again, it's just not something i see happening. At least with Bonerlord it'll automatically bring a huge playerbase in there. Plus, even the normal non-persistent MP will do for quite a while.

I just want to play some multiplayer campaign again. If they get it working in any form that isn't a colossal pile of shit I will give it a go.

I think we're better off waiting for bonerlord to come out and someone modding it. For the playerbase of Okam to come back it'll take some genius marketing. Anyone outside of crpg won't give two shits about a strategic map, they came for the open world.

Technically more than Thoros died, they ended up bringing a few expendable extras! But yeah, almost surprising that no other main characters (if berrick or the gendry can even be considered main characters) bit the dust. I half expected Jon and Berrick to be mortally wounded, and Berrick tells Thoros to resurrect Jon instead of him as a nod to what he does in the books. As for the daggers, they all had to use their obsidian weapons on the wights. At least Tormund was smart and made an axe with the stuff. And that one extra who made it into a polearm. Seriously... daggers/butcher knives over spears? C'mon people. Slashy weapons like the daggers would at most survive a couple swings... obsidian is brittle stuff that would break awfully quickly if you swung it around at some frozen corpses.

Too many plotarmors to begin with, though. Beric being brought back so often just to stroll along a plan that would have been performed anyway? Nah, the Lord of Light is shown to be way too important to do such a stupid thing. Hound is needed for Cleganebowl, Gendry will make Valerian Steel again, Tormund had too much "romance" with the big woman to just be killed off now, Jorah with his healing-screentime could have died in front of Dany but then again the show went a wee bit cuddly with us to do that and then there's Jon, hahaha as if, and Thoros.
I feel like there is way too much fanservice going on. Still liked the episode and Viserion dieing was really fucking sad, but i'm really just only surprised that we got the undead dragon this early and not as the finisher in ep7. Guess the wall's gonna be gone before the credits roll next week.

I do like how that little Starkcunt nibbled on mah man LFs bait. Just wished it didn't get that much screentime.

@Xant: Lots and lots of background story behind those who were just thrown together like that, they absolutely had to address some of it.

Also use some spoiler-tags, maybe?! Even though it's not technically spoiling a whole lot, we're still quite a few days away from it actually airing.

There's still Bran with that big "But you will fly" foreshadowing flying over his head (Unless he was just talking about ravens, then what the actual fuck). Now he just has to battle the Nightkings abilities to do it, plus, warging an undead dragon is much cooler than a simple alive one.
Not enough death in this episode. I can see past the capture-situation, but how the fuck did only thoros die?! And why the hell were they swinging fucking daggers at them...

This entire contrived sub-plot is to give Sansa and Littlefinger something to do in the story. Like I said earlier in the thread, Sansa is completely irrelevant to the story unless she causes internal strife. So they have to create something retarded out of thin air to make her plot progress.

She only exists to get mah boii LF on the throne.

You have plenty of time, so buying a car may be sensible. I had only six weeks, so I decided to rent.

It turned out that in NZ is well developed network of budget motels. Actually there is no choice - better or worse, all hold the same standard. They are OK. For this there are cool campings. In case when I could not find anything along the way, always I had a bed in my Toyota, that was cheap to hire and is nice in driving (3,7 or 4,2 L engine don't remember ). Rent a camper was expensive and camper have big problem with scratching uphill.

Additionally camping is not much cheaper than motel, especially for campers. There are special provisions for them associated with the tanks. For this you can't enter them in much more difficult to reach places, gravel roads are not for the campers, when van can cope. Place on a camping for van is much cheaper, and still u use shower outside, because it is better than inside car... even ferry in Picton is cheaper for van... As you bought a campervan, you have to buy bicycles also.For me, economic calculation was that camper + camping (tanks!) was more expensive than a motel /sometimes camping /sometimes middle of nowhere  + van. Sorry.


I like the most south-weastern coast of the south island. From Haast Beach / Jackson Bay- Okahu ( go left from 6 ) to Fox / Franz Josef Glacier.

Be sure to drive road 83/8 (Omarama) - btw nice motel here, what can I say, whole country is beautiful, just visit every national park, on the northern island, is one beach allowed to drive (unless northwest) - do not overdo it with speed and watch out for the tide and remember - if someone goes on a head-on collision, simply go left

There's a nice camping app called Wikicamps. It's got all the places you can think of and i usually find good places with everything i need for less than 15$ a night. Most Hostels are nowhere near that cheap.
The OP i posted isn't that up to date anymore. While i will travel to the places you mentioned, i need to save up some money now before anything else.
Camping in the middle of nowhere can cost you 200$ if a ranger/cop sees you. Freedom camping is no longer allowed.

Oh, and the 90mile beach is definitely on my list, but for that i need to rent a 4WD car, seen to many pictures of vans getting stuck there xD

@Harpag: Actually bought a campervan. But it was rather expensive, so now i gotta work and save up money for the big trip around the country next spring/summer. Lotr/Hobbit is why i decided to come here instead of aus/canada, so definitely going to visit as many sets as i can.
Only been on the eastcoast of the South Island, but already loving it, especially the people. The only grumpy people i encountered so far were tourists, lol.

I find NZ rather expensive though. At least if you want camping grounds with a shower. Although washing myself in a river for a week was quite the smelly experience though, haha.
