First off, I tried all of the Dirt games after Colin McRae (got them as deals cheap, as in 5€ cheap) and I hated them.
Gymkana is for retards and Hollywood, Rallycross is XGames bullcrap and the few real Rally stages were barely solid.

BUT (!) now there is Dirt Rally and while all the fans of the former Dirt games are disappointed, the old people like me who loved Colin McRae Rally celebrate big time.
I haven't played it myself yet. Merely repeating the majority of opinions on the internet...

I am sooo happy! Can't wait to get hands on it. Finally there seems to be a good Rally game once more!

Suggestions Corner / Change map rotation on EU1 (maybe EU2 too)
« on: March 20, 2015, 04:17:42 pm »
I like to suggest to change the map rotation to smaller sized maps overall. Some battle maps are still aimed at high 100+ player counts but we all know that those days are gone.
Remove or rework the big maps to aim at a population of 50 to 60 players max. I imagine that some older maps that used to run on EU4 could be re-added.

I imagine that this is not a high work load overall but could improve the game play of battle.

Since I am not much of a siege player, I can't really say much about their maps but I could imagine that they could benefit from smaller maps too. Some input from dedicated siege players would be helpful.

I know there was a thread about this before but I couldn't find it.

I played on a certain map - all beach, few constructs with a tower and a lot of high grass - and while I was reloading in said high grass I got shot. Figured it must have been a lucky random hit, moved a few steps sideways and started reloading again and got hit by an arrows once more which killed me.
So, I got curious and checked on that player who killed me. After a few seconds I realized what was going on:

While I was spectating said player shot at targets I couldn't make out and I checked his points now and then. They kept rising. He even killed a guy with a headshot which I couldn't see as spectator.
I kept spectating whenever I was dead and it was just painfully obvious that this player was shooting at targets I couldn't see behind the high grass simply because he didn't see it.

I know it's difficult and can't be checked technically but when it's so obvious... is there anything that we can do? Should we even do something about it?

I loved the Dead Rising 2 on PC for it's silliness and humour. Not so sure about Dead Rising 3...

Starts with the murder of Bruce Wayne's parents but sticks on the same time, not fast forwarding to Batman.
It's trying to show how characters like Penguin, Catwoman and the Riddler came to be.

Just watched the series preview and it looks great. Gonna b' gud! :D

Found a free Beta access key in the Steam forum yesterday.
At the beginning, when I heard about it, I wasn't really interested. Tbh, USA doesn't really gets you stoked when you want awesome roads in cool scenery but...

...I saw some gameplay video in cockpit perspective and it look pretty nice. I love racing games with a proper cockpit. Honestly, it was the only reason I bought Watch_Dogs (fail!).
Now, I played like 30 minutes of the beta yesterday. Basically the very first few races of the Singleplayer part and it was actually fun.
I played 3 different cars up until now, all handling significantly different, sound is great (that AM Vantage S sound is just awesome!) and it looks very nice.
I'll keep playing it a bit more, hopefully more cars to test and then see how it feels and if it's worth the money - my key seller has it on offer for €29.
Though I am not much into MP racing if I am honest and that certainly seems to be the important bit. All this stuff about forming a crew and so on...

I am undecided yet but it could actually be a nice racing game. First impression about the driving model was somewhat surprising: It's simulation'ish with arcade aspects. Seems to be a proper mixture.

Anyone else interested? Maybe even pre-ordered for beta access?

I used the search and was surprised there's no thread yet...

I am undecided yet... It looks like a fast-paced hack'n slash but kinda... console'ish...

Opinions?
