Can someone help me make a good archer build? I would like to do 2h but people say I should go 1h... And I really want to go poleaxe but the stick obtrudes view :( and I also heirloomed a poleaxe... What is a good build?

Is this feasible? What build would I need? Can I also get riding in there? Possibly horse arching too? Or is this all wishful thinking?

I want to be a fast archer with decent polearm ability.. Any help would be great

How come some maps are nighttime and some are foggy, etc? Is it random or what??

I hate nighttime maps... Can't see anything and half the time there's a glare on my screen...

And I shouldn't be forced to join a clan if I just want to play casually.

Sounds like the only appropriate response is "Tough shit".

I read your complaint as something akin to:
I don't have a basketball team, don't think I'll ever bother with one, but I'm going to enter a tournament anyways.  Everyone should have a pick-up team of pubbies just to keep things fair.....

But it's the opposite?? I haven't gotten into Strategus yet but that would be the tournament and the servers would be pubs..?

A big reason I also brought this entire topic up is because, imo, the multiplier is not a good way to gain xp... Its almost a lottery with the team switching and doesn't really cause cohesian of a team (One guy might have 5x while other has 1x)... Gaining money can come to a crawl when losing 4-0 several games in a row.. I'm still confused if balance is a goal of the game... The multiplier depends on one team being stacked more than the other to be effective... The funnest battles are those that are close by <5 people, not a crushing defeat of 20 people still alive...


Everyone might as well copy the banner of the clans server and join in order to get on the stacked team... Which I do see a good amount of actually.

Try countering with some tactics. Pick a banner, take the initiative, be polite and pray for some understanding.

Guys calm down why dont you just join a clan yourself if u find it so imba!!

If you wanna be the lone wolf and u dont like team work dont come here bitchen and ruin the fun for the rest of the crowd....

Yeah I know... but sometimes you'll be fighting 10 members of their clan while theres only 1 of theirs on your team... Banner balance is cool tho

Edit: Also can admins switch clan members to same side? An admin muted someone (hehe not me) complaining about team stack, saying the teams were perfectly balanced

I've been playing a lot lately and a lot of team stacking is going on... Clan members and good players all just get on the same team, either by choosing so or having the admin of the server do it. While I know it's fun to play with clan mates, it's not fun for the rest of the players and makes it one sided for several games in a row, causing the other team to switch to peasant uniforms and pushing noobs away from the game... Don't really know how to fix this though but I just hope that players will be a little more considerate in not stacking so hard... At least don't do it for multiple games in a row!?
And please don't tell me to stop QQ and get better teamwork or something... lol

It would be nice if at the end of each round, you could see who you hit hurt and for how much, and who you got hit by and how much... Would be nice to know if that arrow u got hit in the butt from was an enemy or your teamate...

I would reinstall M&B then download the CRPG file from the announcements page (NEWEST PATCH)

Delete your old CRPG file and completely replace... do not over write (the .223 one was an overwrite though but i think the sticky thread is the entire file)

Do you think the new multiplier system is a good idea?

In my opinion, it's not because it relies on your team being stacked against the other team.
If two evenly balanced teams fight each other, no one will gain a large multiplier.
Also, a person might have a 5x multiplier, and other people on his team may have 1x multiplier with no incentive to try as hard. Due to this along with the "autobalance" and other features, people won't stay on the same team and are not on the same page.
I feel like a new incentive to win should be put in.

What are your thoughts?

I didn't get to quite explain myself more since I wrote this in a hurry, but I believe that creating higher upkeep on certain items would limit the amount of times a person would be able to use heavy armour. A higher upkeep (15%-20%) on plate and lower upkeep for lighter armour wouldn't really cause the problem of having naked people running around, but allow heavy armour to be used occasionally.

I feel this would solve a good number of problems with the balance of plate...?

As a newer player I thought I'd give some input.

The thread starter has truth to his argument, yet, it doesn't exactly mean the power of good cavalry should stay as it is. My following points are based on my experiences with an unarmoured horse. I got about a 3-4 kills per death on average.
I'm about level 20 now, and I ride a Palfrey (before the latest patch, I did too, not because of upkeep). Most of my kills rely on exploiting the enemy. I rely on catching them off guard or while they're vulnerable. For example, I'll come from behind a group of enemy and quickly scout it first, then charge for those I know who wouldn't see me coming (commonsense yea?). Half the time, pikemen we already see me, and I'll evade them and kill the guy next to them. There's a false sense of security of your teammates being around you and so situational awareness is lower, allowing cavalry to plow quickly through.

As  I said, I had a k/d of about 3:1 but its based on rounds and if I exploit correctly. I'll get 9 kills one round but maybe 1 the next.

Someone was saying that it's unfair that some people don't have enough equipment slots to fight cavalry. And that really shouldn't be a problem (but it still is I know). A guy who runs into an open field is a target for cavalry. However, if anything, that target should be armed with a strong polearm. The target should not be there if he doesn't have one. People need to play to their advantages; if the enemy has heavy cavalry, stick to the village/castle/etc., rather than open fields.

Pikes are not the only dangers... Second to me are are javelin throwers... I will attack some enemies only to be dehorsed by 1-2 javelins.

I also bought a pike recently (no WPF, i only have WPF in 1h) for the explicit reason of cavalry. With the new lower skill requirements in riding, more cavalry are bound to start popping up.
