Since I don't really have much time to play online games, I'd like to make a thread about games of different genres with solid and interesting SP (mostly not older than like 5-6 years old). Just post a title of the game and a little description. I'll start with several of them.

Max Payne 3: pretty much good shooter with a main character having midlife crisis :D If you played previous Max Payne games, you will most likely love it, though it lost it's charm.
Stanley Parable: original and interesting FP corridor walk-through with story line that you make on your own. Good 30-60 minutes of philosophical game.
Far Cry 3: good RPG shooter with a nice sandbox around. High quality product.
Sims 3: yeah, it's kinda gay, but trust me - this game can take you for a couple of hours at least.
Fallout: New Vegas: extremely good game (most of Fallout fans will like it). FP/3rd person RPG with semi-turn based fight mechanics (optional). Got a good scenario, you can play it a couple of times with completely different ways.

Suggestions Corner / Button "All" in armoury [code included]

It's very uncomfortable and not handy to use the armoury when you have to manage with a lot of items. I myself have 14 MWs and Mercs have a lot of MWs in the armoury (no, I'm not bragging around  :lol:) so it's very time consuming to select all the items when you need to put/pull out all of them at once (i.e. I've stopped playing and want to put all my items to armoury - I have to click 14 times, same when I want them back on my char). Also when we want all the MWs back to the armoury - we need to click on all of the particular items. So what I suggest is just add this code:

Use document.getElementsByName('items[]'); or document.getElementsByName('itemslent[]'); where it's used. Add both to the management of armoury and management of your own items. Already works fine, checked it on crpg website. You just need to put it inside the template.

Suggestions Corner / New shields (models and stats included)

I've noticed ages ago that there are some shields which use completely the same meshes and textures. That's why it's sometimes difficult to say what particular shield is being used (because they simply look the same). To say more - these shields have a huge gap between stats of each other which makes no sense. So I suggest to replace some of them and also add some new 1 skill requirement shields. Sizes are adjustable so I don't post how they look on the characters because devs might consider to change stats/size (so they will have to do it themselves using the ruler in model editor). Models are taken from different sources (mostly reworked native models or from open OSP), retextured and reworked by me.

Suggestions Corner / More horses (Models and stats are included)

There are plenty of horses but most of them require 5 or more Riding. So I've decided to fix this situation and suggest additional 2-4 Riding horses. Don't look at the names of horses on screenshots, I've just realized that using "partbred" is stupid and will make a mess with loomed names. These horses are originally retextured by wanderer and completely reworked by me (models, shapes, textures, normal maps).

Suggestions Corner / Less environment changes

Hello. It's a long time that a huge part of this community asks to do some easy things that are still not done by devs. First of all I want to ask to make night time like 4 times less than we have now. The problem is the night time overlays the real daytime in EU and it's a big pain for the eyes of those who are not living inside a prison. Second thing is weather, the amount of fog/rain/snow is ridiculously high and should be like 10 times less. Environment changes should be rare and add diversity to the gameplay but not annoy people. I don't know why it requires years to fix such easy things.

Global / [Ban] SMOOTHRICH

I'm not sure I have to make it here as he's a NA player, maybe I had to make it in the global section, but here we go.

Today at the strat battle http://c-rpg.net/index.php?page=battlesparticipated#!?page=battledetail&id=3486 I found out that Smoothrich was leeching (well, obviously leeching, hiding in the corner of the siege tower behind flags and doing nothing as a 2hander). Then I QMLed him several times in a row (because I was not sure QML worked, it's hard on strat servers as you know). Then after a while he woke up and pressed M, so timer dropped. After that he makes a poll to ban me, waits some time and types that i'm abusing QML.

Then he starts sending some completely inappropriate texts like this:

He should be told that donating to meleegaming doesn't give him invulnerability to bans. And even if it did, he shouldn't talk about it.

He also claimed that he frapsed it, so I demand the video where he is fighting when QMLed him to prove his innocence.

Also one more indirect evidence of him leeching. Look at his scores. He's 5th by having the least amount of deaths in his team (among archers and crossbowmen, note that he's 2hander)

So I ask to ban him globally (as the ban on EU would not affect him) for:
1) Leeching (No leeching; NOT OK: Standing around away from keyboard. If you're away, switch to spectator mode
2) Random Ban poll (No random kick/ban polls. Always specify reason before starting a poll)

Also I want admins to pay attention on his ban history on NA servers, lying and trying to scare me with his donating powers.  Thank you.

I remember some old days when you could loot something and use it in the next rounds if you survive. I think it's a good feature for newbies. I don't know why it got removed (probably because of QQing archers spawning without arrows when they forgot to drop their looted weapons in the previous round).

I.e. i'm a noob, who found a masterwork sword, I tried hard, killed some enemies, survived and my team won a round. Why shouldn't I have a small reward to make it possible to carry this sword to the next round?

I've looked into files and found out that it's possible to set it for exact players, so basically you can set the operation player_save_picked_up_items_for_next_spawn for certain players who want this. I suggest we enable it by default, so PROs turn it off for themselves while newbies have this feature.

This thread will be mostly useful for those who are eager to get masterworks but they don't like or simply can't grind them, but also want to help this mod. Even though I've already given away my full set of masterworks to people who deserved them, I can give rewards to other players who have the ability to deserve them now hence I'll define for what you can get some certain +3 items.

Prizes which are mentioned here are guaranteed prizes which will be given personally by me. If people will like your work, they will definitely add something more like gold, loom points or other loomed items. Don't forget that you will not only get an item which required many hours to be loomed but you will also have the respect and reverence of this community, and that is more important than anything I can offer to you.

Global rules and requirements:
  • Everything should be made by you or the one who allowed you to apply with it here
  • It's allowed to apply with only something that is not being used by cRPG already
  • You have to send the examples/screenshots of your work first and if community and I personally like them, and your work is made according to requirements then you'll have to upload your work somewhere in order to get your prize
  • If there will be multiple candidates each with stuff good enough to get a prize, then I will arrange additional prizes (depending of what I'll have, but most likely it will be either gold or other masterworks)
  • Other people can nominate you if you didn't do it yourself, though you can retract your nomination if you want

1. Male voice pack.
cRPG lacks voice actors, hence there are a lot of voice commands which have no sounds actually. In order to take part just record a couple of different voice commands and upload them somewhere. If people like it, then you'll have to record all of the voice commands and get your prize. You can also ask your friends to record it if they can do it good.
Requirements:
  • Acceptable quality of sound. I don't require professional studio, a good microphone will be enough
  • Charisma. You should sound appropriately to the voice command
  • Language. English of course and better without accent

2. Female voice pack.
The rules and requirements are the same as for male voice pack. As it's mentioned before - you can ask your girlfriend or anyone else to do it, it doesn't matter who applies to do this, we do care only about the result.

3. Weapon/shield/horse models
cRPG lacks models for some weapons. I.e. there are only 3 models for 5 crossbows for years and there are no unique models yet. Also there are a lot of items that we would need, creative ideas.
Requirements:
  • Polygon count and details should be rational (somewhat close to the other warband items)
  • Model should have at least 3 LOD levels, at least autogenerated but it would be much more appreciated if they're handmade
  • Model should be textured
  • Model should match the time (around 12-14 centuries)

4. Armour models

5. Battle map
EU1 map rotation list lacks good balanced maps
Requirements:
  • Good optimization. Map should not lag compared to other maps
  • Map should be balanced so none of the sides/classes has an obvious advantage
  • Size should fit the amount of players

6. Beta-siege map
The new siege mode definitely lacks maps.
Requirements:
  • All the mentioned above
  • Should be made according to the Ozin's manual to work fine in this mode

7. Rageball/DTV map

8. New image of Strategus map
Picture of Strategus map is a remade medium quality image. We need a completely new one with an adequate quality.
Requirements:
  • Should have good quality with good resolution (at least as the currently used)
  • Should match the actual mask of the map which is used by Strategus engine (to define type of ground)

9. New models for environment/Strategus
This is a wide point. It's mostly something about Strategus enhancement, like levels of destructions of additional walls/structures, plus more realistic destructions instead of current etc.

  • All models need to have collision meshes
  • All the other requirements for models mentioned above

10. Optimization and fixes
There is a lot of stuff which has to be done with optimization so this game lags less, works better on weak PCs or has less glitches.
Requirements:
  • If it's LOD: LOD models should be made manually and have at least 3 levels, they need to save the recognizable shape of the weapon
  • If it's model fixes: models don't have to lose its look. It should be a significant boost to performance (20+% of polygons) or a glitch fix
  • If it's collision mesh fixes: collision meshes should not gain a huge amount of faces, they also have to fit the model more only if it's needed
  • If it's map fixes: map should not lose its intended features, only obvious bugfixes or balance issues will count as fix
  • If it's texture fixes: textures should be optimized so they don't lose the significant amount of quality and don't start looking worse

11. New features for the mod
If you feel like you can make a feature for this mod and you have a knowledge about how to do it, then you can apply and add some features.

  • It should be something useful which improves the mod

12. Private server
Sometimes certain private servers can be very useful for this community serving its needs. I also understand that any server costs money so it will be a small reward from me.

Hello. I don't know why but map rotation is not fixed yet. For some reason we still have that map in rotation which is obviously designed for Rageball.

I completely dislike the majority of recently added maps. I can understand that people who made them exclusively for crpg spent some certain amount of time making them, but it's not a reason to add them. Some of them have very bad optimization (i.e. a lot of unnecessary details which is completely unprofessional - you turn around at 360 degrees and there are some parts which make your fps drop to 70). Nothing to say about balance on these maps which is horrible (take bridge maps for example, why do we need so many?).

To cut all the QQ I want to say:
1) Test new maps before you add them into rotation;
2) Use more native maps, as most of them are done well;
3) Don't add all the horrible maps even if they're made for crpg exclusively.
4) Remove bad maps until they get fixed.

Hello, this will be a long post so prepare your popcorn or tl;dr gifs  :wink:

Since I might be busy for some certain time and there is no progress in processing item balancer's applications - I want to make a post with my thoughts how items should be balanced, how new items should be added.

Why do we need this? It's simple: I believe that there should be no items which have no pluses over other items. Also the influence of players who abuse some certain effective weapons is so big that these weapons become very popular almost instantly and after some time these particular items imminently get nerfed and break the inner balance.

I suggest 5 levels of balance:

Level I: Global classes like Melee, Ranged, Horses, Armours, Shields. (in this post I'll take Melee as a good example)
Level II: Regular classes. In this case Onehanders, Twohanders, Polearmers (I will take Onehanders)
Level III: Subclasses. Daggers&Knives, Clubs&Maces&Hammers, Axes, Picks, Swords. (Let's take Swords)
Level IV: Types. 0slot (short) and 1slot (long): swing only, swing+thrust, thrust+swing.
Level V: Particular weapons' balance.

How it would look in reality:

There are only 2 of them and they're both low tier. So it's obvious that some additional are needed. Something like 1h morningstar and some others. Pic from wiki.

1handed clubs and maces (Blunt):

Even though there are only 2 items and they're both for peasants it's a good example of how things should be done. These two items have their Pros and Cons.

And here we can see itemset which can be balanced. Knobbed and Spiked Mace are completely identical, the only difference is that Spiked Mace is 560 gold more expensive and has +1 difficulty, it's not a reason to make such difference for +1 blunt damage bonus. Then we look further, Flanged Mace is a total winner compared to Spiked Mace => +0,3 weight, +1 speed and only for 1,143 gold. Then we see Iron Mace, at least some diversity and so on with other maces. Also we see that Difficulty is not used as a balancing parameter, it's just linked to the item price as we can see. So basically all the items are more or less the same with not really a big diversity.

1handed hammers (Blunt):

These are just 2 items and they're completely different. It's obvious that some low tier and other hammers are needed to make diversity.

1handed picks/sickles (Pierce):

There are 4 of them and they're balanced poorly: Less length, more damage. The only good thing is that Military Sickle can be used in 2h mode. It's obvious that some additional are needed:

1handed axes (Cut):

Much better situation with axes. Besides some tweaks I would not change them as they have diveristy. Light and fast, Heavy and damaging, Axe with 2h mode, axes with secondary pierce mode. I like it.

I didn't even touch swords as I think that some of them are really useless and they need rebalancing which is difficult at this moment with all the amount of them.
