Yeah, most of my kills are from melee :P But I still like crossbows, even though they are a bit wonky right now *shrugs*. It usually evens out after a while.

Stop lying Yaron, I'm top scorer fairly regular, bah

But I get your point, xbow price, IMO are fine, but you're not getting a whole lot for the money your spending. I'm using gear  (excluding siege xbow) worth about 4k, and with the siege xbow (siege xbow, bolts x2: 21749) about 25k. A dedicated archer with okey armor and dual bodkins nets about 25k, but they are pure dedicated archers. I'm wondering if the lack of skill point sink the xbower gets is worth the price they pay for the gear they use.

Den gamla devisen att det inte finns några tjejer på internet stämmer väl. Det är bara att behandla alla som 13:åriga killar för enkelheten skull. Men vill du verkligen gå och sukta så finns det några kvinnliga varianter borta på NA servrarna.

General Discussion / Re: New Xbow Damage
« on: January 16, 2011, 03:25:06 am »
Dear staby dave, let me explain what I meant:

DPS is a misleading term that makes people think that some weapon are more effective then others. In a "real" rpg, where everything is calculated and everything is "predetermined", DPS as a term works fine. But how would you use that in cRPG? Just because you CAN shot 1 arrow per 3 seconds dealing XX amount of dmg, does not mean that you de facto deal that damage. Most archers hit very few arrows where I (for example) hit people with at least with 50% of my bolts, because I choice very carefully when to shoot and when not to. That's what  I meant with playing proper.

In my own very special world, an xbower is a slow support char, who shoots when it matters. Of course this becomes a problem when everyone needs 2-3 bolts to go down, but it's usually solved buy shooting squishy archers instead, or simply staying alive or picking off people with low health.

DPS means nothing. Burst damage is what ya wan't, go back to wow you nub!

Xbow aint weak at all, you just go to use it properly.

Some DRZ guys presented the devs with very nice armours and they got implemented. If you can provide them with high quality armour (Turkish or other) I'm sure they would implement it too.

PD skill have been talked about over and over and over and quite frankly, I really doubt it would ever work. Just look at what happened with bows a couple of patches back. A WPF req would do nothing really, and make no sense ingame either. Why even risk the upkeep for a weapon you can't use. And if you have the reqs you are probably gonna use it anyway.

Nah, if anything, something new and imaginative as you suggested, would be the way to go. Maybe it's time to think harder? (Those two things you suggested have been discussed in months.)

Stoopid leechers. Don't they get that spending 1k in armour and another 1k in a weapon they could be so much more effective (in surviving) and most of all, NOT BORED OUT OF THEIR MINDS, when playing.
