Fookin finally
Cinematic looks amazing, gameplay YELLS at me that the production was rushed, there's a lot of fine-tuning to be done, everything yet lacks details, still hasn't that eerie and melancholic feel of Diablo 1 and 2. Let's hope they put more work into the visuals. That druid at 0:25 looks like straight outta some indie game

Cinematic trailer got me kinda interested. I played a ton of diablo 2 so I would love to play the series again. Fingers crossed it doesnt suck.

Americans lead the project that's fo sho but 70-80% of any modern big-budget game is outsourced so yes, Asians do all the heavy lifting. Times, when group of long-haired weirdos made games in their moms basement, are over.
I still like what I am seeing. Way better than D3.
Chris Metzen left Blizzard years ago and he was absolute authority on all things Diablo.

then you missed out DII was absolutely amazing and is considered the best so far for good reasons, I heavily recommend to at least try it DIII may have had a shitty story and too colorful graphic, but the gameplay was superb
I played DI for the first time this year and I am SO GLAD that I didn't choose the warrior :D

Refreshing to hear, Diablo was always my favorite. I even played a mod for DII back then, which tried to capture the essence of 1, "back to hellfire" it was called. Great times! Also imo DI & DII are hard to compare. DI has huge nostalgia bonus for me and the music and atmosphere when you where carefully exploring the dungeons are unmatched. DII was great, too, obviously the mechanics where a completely different league, but I always kinda missed the simplicity and again the atmosphere of I.
that reminds me I recently stumbled upon this video by developer David Brevek, where among other things he tells the story of how Diablo 1 became not turn based super late in the development xD:
totally nerdy video ;) Story about turn-based from around 22:44 on, it's definitely worth 5 minutes!

Diablo 2 gets a 10/10 from me when I played it. Not sure how well it would hold up now but in it's time it was absolutely top notch. Had lvl 80+ barbarian, sorceress and paladin.

It's alright. Animations are fine and graphics are good with resolution and widescreen mods. First Diablo game, however, replayed it four years ago, now that's hard to swallow because it is four directions plus diagonal movement and animations are pretty rough. Once you get over that, it is still a great game.
Diablo II mods make the game much better.
Back in the day, like two decades ago I was kinda pissed when Diablo II came out because of constant respawn of enemies which was not a thing in the first game. Later I started to appreciate the concept and grinding of levels. Diablo III I was given beta access and played it for 45 minutes. Never touched it since that beta. Remember there was no skill tree and I was disappointed.
Edit: Actually, not even sure there is diagonal movement in the first Diablo lol

Diablo 3 had none of the magic of diablo 2 I found it very bland and also gave up after playing it for maybe a an hour or two
