Title: Autobalance Test this Saturday
Post by: Tydeus on July 18, 2014, 03:07:24 pm
[G]oing to reschedule for next weekend, due to time overlap with the World Cup Final. It will be scheduled for this Saturday, July 19th at 2:00 PM (14:00 EST)/ 10:00 PM (22:00) GMT+2.

Autobalance test this Saturday(tomorrow), July 19th at 4:00 PM (16:00) ET / 10:00 PM (22:00) GMT+2.
Server: cRPG_Tyd_Testbed

We have to test by simulating a normal battle environment, so we need as many people as possible, for a good 30 minutes or so. I'll take screenshots of everyone that comes and hold a raffle for the Boulder on a Stick (has stats of a +3 Long Maul, can't be loomed, so don't transfer it to your STF.)

Edit: times have been updated. Again.

22h (10:00PM)  GMT +2 = Spanish/French/Italian/German time (and mostly all EU countries)

Basically all it does, is alter the individual player's worth. For details on how the current system works, you can check out Vanthor (http://forum.melee.org/index.php?action=profile;u=16486)'s post here (http://forum.melee.org/suggestions-corner/proposed-change-to-team-balance-algorithim/msg961452/#msg961452). It's worth noting though, that I did not use his proposed script, instead, I base the individual player's worth on Score_Offset (remember that number you used to see when you hit someone.)

According to your list 14:00 EST does not match 22:00 GMT +2 ( brussels in your list says 21:00).
now I am even more confused...

Yeah, that's correct.  It's much easier to just list schedules in UTC time.

Don't worry, you didn't miss much. It was a calamity.

Post by: Artemis13 on July 19, 2014, 10:42:54 pm
Actually I had a lot of fun with the insane high ping for everyone. It was a real challenge to think that far ahead and just make decisions based on the odds with every swing, shot, and parry. I was surprised I did as well as I did in the scoring! Always fun to have something new to figure out, even for a brief tangent.

I saw the teams were sliding heavily onto one or the other, so I assume there's more work to be done on the autobalance?

Had almost 60 people at one point.

Just finished drawing names for the Boulder on a Stick.

The EU winner is Boerenlater
The NA winner is Legs

Congrats and thanks to everyone for their participation in this test.

Are you sure that's not at least a little bit of an understatement?

Sorry,havent seen you in-game for a while:S

Does it matter?
Would be a bad idea to give a unique item to a player that isnt active anymore, since you arent abled to trade it/give it to a friend...
