the Frisian group of misfits were the only group left undefeated in the Murrican clan league. we were a bunch of misfits and beat PRO(remnant and varous other "pros") and the randomers(allers, miley, ascalon, and chaos group). no one group has it in the bag until the fat lady sings in my opinion.

daruvian is going to play with the Frisian group so it looks like i'm just going to take him off and put one on later when I find somebody.

also, I hope other groups sign up, if you get 5th even you get 100k let alone how much better of a player these matches make you. I remember that was a normal strat player before I did these and after I was doing above average in the chaos vs FCC battles.

How do we decide the team captain(s) though? Considering the fact that these people haven't already taken the initiative to try and form a team out of the guys posting in that thread (or elsewhere), I would assume they don't have that degree of interest or time. Not that I'm opposed to it, but simply extending the deadline would seem to be the better solution.

Extending the deadline is definitely the best option. I was just throwing that out there in case "Once was enough and we can't afford to keep postponing it for you layabouts." And I guess the role of captain could have simply been given to whoever from each team asks for it first; it at least shows that they are active and willing to put forth the effort necessary to organize. There isn't exactly any glory in being the captain, so it would be safe to assume those that looking to do that job are in it simply to make this work. But if the deadline can indeed be extended, who cares? (Maybe it could be something to consider should we still be in the same boat after another postponement.)

I had considered changing things based upon the number of team submissions. We haven't really gotten enough teams to justify changing things up, though. Still, things could change since I see no reason not to extend signups until 7:00 AM ET, on the 17th. After that they'll be closed, I'll make/update some posts, and the matches for qualifiers will begin (I want players to be able to utilize Friday the 18th among the range of days that teams will be able to schedule their first match.)

So again, Sign-ups will remain open until July 17th at 7:00 AM ET.

I need a team name, tag and captain that will be handling the match scheduling.

To clarify a few things:
Every round of the tournament will allow players to schedule and play their matches across a 5-7 day period. So sign-ups end the 17th, and starting from the 18th, through the 25th (giving a full week for the first round), players can see who their opponent is, and begin scheduling and playing that round's match. If after the 7 day period a match hasn't been played, I'll have to decide on a case by case basis, whether to disqualify a team(s), or to mark one down as forfeiting that round's match. Depending on where we're at in the tournament, a forfeit could be the same as a knockout (Qualifiers Stage, Group Stage, Knockout Stage.)

The four other members wish to drop out as well then? You could easily just pass the team captain onto one of the others and use the team's replacements to get more active members onto the team.
