If you want to fight your match prior to that date, feel free, but both participants must post their results in this thread with screenshots, or it won't be recorded.

You really need to put this stuff together better and maybe have it span over a few days and let people that couldnt show up on that day still fight somehow.............

This event was horribly managed and I ended up just wasting 2 hours of my time with only 1 duel to show for it. The lack of organization and planning from the NA admins is really disappointing. Having as few as 2 active admins for a 50+ man tournament is just lazy. I'm not wasting anymore time on this poorly managed tournament. Also disappointed they didn't stick to the original details of the tournament (wasn't on arena).

While it is obviously the responsibility of a contestant to make an appearance, there was a request to post contact information so that the tournament admins could contact the contestants, or that is what I assume they wanted their contact information for. I know Tristan of Erzoth signed up for the tournament and was completely unaware it had even happened by round 3, which was days after it began. Other such as Knightmare and Firebus were also unaware of when the tournament was suppose to be. Tristan himself told me he was waiting for the admins to contact him about the tournament and I'm wondering how many others missed due to the same reason.

I also know the late implementation of the substitute system screwed at least one person over. Shiftknife was there when his fight was announced and waited over an hour before he decided to leave. He went to sleep and was later informed of how his opponent arrived late and fought a substitute.

I don't think it would have taken that much to message people. Write down the the date and time and send it through a mass message on the forum or website to the people who put that as their contact information. Copy paste it to those who use steam. Neither should take all that long and by what I've seen that's the majority of contact information for players, all the people who missed it because they were unaware of the date.When you sign up for a tournament, you make a commitment to be there. Take some fuckin' responsibility or don't sign up at all.

The polearm bit doesn't surprise me at all though. I've thought for quite some time that polearm is the elite class, especially after the attribute changes a few months ago.

I think a lot of people chose polearm just because duels took place in an open field with basically limitless s-key. Put people in an enclosure and you'll see a lot more 1h and 2h. Most of the good 2h (Allers, Firebus, Oodle) and some other decent 2h were DQ'd early, too.I would love to see a better prepared tournament, with the Arena map and more participants to make it more interesting. Also maybe change it up and make it bo3 or something, I was pretty out of it after fighting kaoklai for 5 minutes on just one round then another round having the map change mid duel. It's obvious who are the better players in the long duels(FT5), but if you made the tournament single elimination or bo3 you would see a lot more upsets and an overall more appealing tournament with different results each time.(maybe)
Polearm isn't stronger than 2h, it's just that only like 8 people in NA know how to play 2h anymore.
