Yup the view points in the scenery is amazing. I love the little 'puzzles' to get to the view points in the first place. Some of them are quite tricky. So much detail.

Those screens are everything but not impressive. And I dont mean the motives but the graphics. Is Guild Wars 2 really that... unspectacular and close to ugly?  :shock:

I was surprised by the quality of those screens as well. It looks so much better in-game, at least for me. Not sure if people have settings on medium/low or the game just produces screenshots at lower quality. Will try to take some later.

PS: don't want to sound like a grammar chocolate chip cookie wanker, but you probably meant "those screens are everything but impressive"

I couldn't make up my mind yet if I should get GW2 or not. Depends on whether I like the look of it and how many of my guys are playing it and especially how long they gonna play it.

I've seen some gameplay videos and screens but they don't look too good. So I'm kinda afraid the graphics sucks. Normally I'm not much of a graphic whore but a MMORPG should look nice, especially the world and items. Until now I'm pretty disappointed by what I've seen.

You could just not dig the style. Honestly I think the game world is beautiful and I absolutely love the graphics. They are better than any of the other mmos out there in my opinion.

However, if you have seen a number of gameplay videos and still thought it ugly, it probably just doesn't float your boat.

Some ground/building textures are mediocre, but the character models look great. Will provide more. But yeah, graphics are better in-game than on this screen. Not by much, but still.

Yeah it's an MMO ffs. Can't expect insanely zomg real life HD super detailed faces ect graphics. It would break the game. It already takes some hefty computer power on high graphics to deal with 20 odd people all fighting one boss. I'll take some screen shots of clusterfuck spell casting going off. The spells look beautiful to watch and a little hypnotic sometimes. The world itself is insanely detailed and some of the area really look amazing.

All my screens are on highest graphics settings btw though it is possible that they are coming out slightly lower quality. I think mine are sometimes. Will play around a bit more.

The graphics detail itself is not very impressive, but the art style is. It's hard to judge from screenshots though, it definitely looks better in-game.

First Guild Wars had similar graphics quality.

I run GW2 on a 2 years old computer, and i have yet to change any parts (it's scheduled for christmas), so don't judge the quality of the graphics on my screenshots.
Still looks okay in game with such old hardware.

I'll post some screen shots so you can see what ugly truely is. It looks like doom 3d for me because my box is old and shitty!

I have it set to performance and I pull 24 fps. I'm only playing in the Human lands :p I logged into the tree people and my computer said "no". After seeing other peoples screen shots I actaully think it's pretty impressive if you have a good rig.

@koyama bwahahahahaha We have almost the exact same guy. I based him on Black Dynomite, but if stuffed the name, should have put more effort in on the name.

They really need an anouncment thing that pops up and says "you are being butt fucked at location x in wvw" so people playing pve jump across.

Multigaming like a boss, used to do it like this with EVE online and Haven & Hearth as well (didn't work very well for the latter as it has permadeath and afking is not ok)

I am constantly surprised by how well those secret areas are hidden. The one in Lion's Arch is great.

I thought jumping puzzles would be just, well jumping puzzles, but theres other stuff in it. Like in one cave you have to light the torches and clear the mobs and then another secret underwater passage opens, it's bloody awesome. In the Lion's Arch one a spirit guides you while rambling random stuff, very funny :D

GW has never really been about the levels like other MMOs though, especially when everything including PvP is scaled. It's really easy to powerlevel if you find the most optimal places to farm events in between your story quests.

That was my favorite instance in GW1. Farmed the shit out that thing with the old 3 ranger + 1 MM barrage build. Traded a Rago's staff for an Urgoz bow and then (regretfully) sold it for 100k gold :( Haven't tried the new instance in this game tho.

I've seen a video test where the journalists said that you should do the story quests after being quite high lvl. That way you save yourself some frustration and can actually enjoy the story a bit easier since you can roll through them straight away w/o breaks to lvl up for the next chapter.
I am doing it that way and I think it's a nice tip.
Did one story quest with the actual suggested lvl and I had to die 4 times before I was able to bug the mobs and revive my npc-buddy so I could finish it.  :?

Be careful if you are fighting Muguuma server, since GOONS/Starfleet Dental plays there.

They like to do lulzy shit like stack up on each other and cast retal.  Notice the duration here....
