You either want to be on the first page, or the last page to get yourself noticed. Most people read the first one, and most people read the last one. Regardless of that, I only applied because I thought I could do a good job, I failed at the developing side of things but I still love the mod and wish to give something back. I know that sounds quite cheesy, but I can't help through donations and when I applied to help with the developing, I had more free time on my hands. A half arsed excuse I'm sure, but that's the truth of the matter.
Moderating a forum, even the cRPG one, doesn't call for taking too much time out due to the fact that I keep up with what goes on anyway, and therefore, I would merely be clicking a few extra buttons given a situation that doesn't follow the guidelines.

We have quite a few active members, just don't usually play at the same times/cRPG all the time. I mean, in particular Dlion & Minx play a lot of other games but they're usually around. Otherwise if you want to nit-pick with our most active cRPGers then you're looking at myself, Moribund, Bifi, Elmuri, Bjarky, HarDraaDa, Dezi, Acke & Aine. That's a reasonable number! :Dtrue true, i guess its due to that other clans are more often online in large number, makes them pop out, i havent seen moribund in ages though my, ingame, activity isnt too great either. :)

I suppose other than the "e-peen" argument, it is a gauge of how reliable that persons information is, how helpful they are or other things similar to that, although people use it as a weapon by bombing people they don't like with negative votes.
Personally, I use it as an "at a glance" look at whether or not someones posts are reliable if I don't recognise the username but I view it as a ratio as opposed to it just having a huge amount of both.
It is... elitist and I find that rather disconcerting as. I am already starting to feel mild contempt for people who take the whole thing seriously, quite the opposite effect I would assume they want from their self-imposed elitism but then again I am generally an angry, arrogant person.
However, having said all that, most people are good lads and lasses regardless of their forum "standing".

I thought I would play this game more, but I am currently very much inbetween things. Half of the time I'm on the internet is through a notebook which clocks over 100°C when watching youtube videos. Also, with my retiring sheme complete ironically I find I have little motivation to actually play.
I'm still going to be around sporadically, I might even become more active again sometimes, but I might also be completely gone.
Since I can't really say, and I'm really only casually on now, I'd like to officially say goodbye.

We get loads of foxes around where I live, they just run around screeching at night. I think that a lot of BBC programmes add in the screech on night scenes in woods too, just a random thing for you there.

We've never had the largest of followings, we've always been a smaller clan and I suppose we're not seen as "heroes", therefore we don't get new people asking to join because we're something special.
The ones that are here have been here for goodness knows how long, we're quite casual but I personally, am the most angry person in the entire clan, each and every one of the people in the clan seem to be calm and collected at all times. I don't know, I guess the appeal just isn't there, we're quiet and keep to ourselves really. Well, the rest of the clan do, me not so much.

On a side note, I was sitting in teamspeak the other day, I saw Bulzur join, stayed for about 20 seconds, presumably checking if anyone was playing cRPG, then leave, about a minute later, Acke joined, did the same thing, and left. Another 5 minutes later, Bushido joined, waited 20 seconds and left.
I feel you lads join to see if there is anyone online playing, then don't bother waiting around for anyone else to join you :D
If you feel like playing crpg with someone, the best method is generally to hang around in the TS and start playing when and if someone joins. Or pester someone to join you.

Minimal savings but it'll help. You could get a workable PC for that much, although that's the equivalent of about £315. Looking about you could grab a pre-built (with low end graphics card & I5) for about £400 over here so I would say it's doable, to get you back onto cRPG.
To be fair, my laptop I bought for Uni four years back can run cRPG, that was £500 then so...
If you are looking to upgrade at a later date, personally I would prioritise the motherboard since most things fit to it. Hopefully give you a bit of room to maneuver, I've never been good with building computers to be honest, I just use them. :)
