Retirement back, without name change

Retirement is back. Level 31 with heirloom and gen increase, level 15-30 without.

Also, you cannot/don't have to change the name any more.

The Database was freed of the old retired chars, and to celebrate this, you can now revert to your original name. For about 7 days, you are free to change your name to whatever you want.

Then it's clan tag / typo change only again.

so when you say you cannot/don't have to change the name anymore...
does that mean you don't have to make a new char when you retire and keep the same one?
or am I just retarded.

I'm sorry, but it's not exactly clear for me: 7 days from NOW, or 7 days from each retirement? I kinda like the generation numbering, does your post mean it's out of the picture now, or just not mandatory?

Does retirement only require level now ? (as in, it no longer needs 1 week ? )
Does retiring before 31 still give the generation xp  boost ? If yes and if a character no longer has to be 1 week old to retire, we could be seeing gen 20 players in a matter of days.

Can we get a one time respec since those changes where massive and many have really messed up chars? Would be really nice, considering how long it takes a casual player to get to a higher level still

Agreed, I enjoyed the ability to alter my name each time I acquired a respec.

As it seems retiring under lvl 31 means character reset, no xp, wpf or gold boni, no heirloomed item, no new generation, am I right?

Do you think setting this high limit is fair on the new players who play this game? Seeing as with such a high requirement they will never catch up to those who are genrations older then them also i started playing a week before the patch and was not able to retire in time before the patch launched even tho i had the gold and level requirement and feeding off of scraps of info based on new retirement i have not bothered to grind to 31 as was told hierlooms were to be at 30.

Don't be so concerned with everyone else. Just go at your own pace. I am gen 6, and there are still people almost 10 generations ahead of me. This fact does not dissuade me from playing in the slightest.

chadz, seriously? The grind to 31 is brutal. Make it worthwhile with heirlooms. Meanwhile, give everyone who isn't crazy enough to do that grind the opportunity to retire at 30 with just the XP bonus.

I personally don't mind the tough requirement for heirlooms, but not being able to respec after such massive changes without having the grind again would be bad. I really hope we get a one time respect without loosing our exp

We totally had that already, Dekiri.

Personally, I'm excited.  Makes heirlooms something to look forward to.
