Can someone explain to me what is so good about gintama and the overall plot?
hmm thats a though one, since there's no fixed single plot
here's a little info:
Sakata Gintoki is a samurai living in an era when samurais are no longer needed (forcefully retired by aliens). To add to his troubles, oppressive aliens have moved in to invade (this takes place before the anime's timeline). Gintoki lives with Kagura and Shinpachi, taking on odd jobs to make the world a better placeĀ
and to pay their rent.
generaly Gintoki is an lazy ass retired samurai, who is always broke, also thanks to kagura who eats like 100 garfields ^^
the anime usually derails to some comical stories with spoofs from other animes blended in, wich are hilarious.
the story takes a serious turn too thou, it changes from serious to comical alot of times with different stories wich always are based around the odd jobs the group is taking.
When you see the first episode u will usually be a little confused about what this anime is about, but give it some time, see some more episodes and u get the general plot somehow.
i like this anime very much because it always changes and not always goes on about an highscholl story or something else what get replayed all the time within most mainstream anime's.
+ the jokes and spoofs are epic if u have seen alot of anime before that
