FYI....I've already made suggestions for LS to get -1 Speed in return for +2 length, making it a 98 speed base with 108 length.  That way it would better fill the void between the BS/HBS and the Two Handed Sword.

Other funny thing is that a little while ago before the +1 Speed and +1 dmg buff people wondered why anyone used the longsword...especially because everyone was strength crutching and hitting someone with a longsword was like hitting the terminator with a nerf bat.  Funny how they +1 it and people start going more agi (unrelated I think) and now everyone cries about it.

Longsword doesn't start to seem OP until people abuse hiltslash/facehug lolstab/spinthrust/etc, which can be done with almost any 2h anyway. IMHO, Elindor is the best 2h player that doesn't abuse any of that crap; he just blocks your sh!t then employs basic footwork/holds/feints to kill people.

It's the guys that do nothing but abuse broken game mechanics that give Longsword a bad name, but Elindor isn't one of those guys.

Case and point here is Tanken with the longspear.  He makes that thing look like a benny hill open....but if you nerf it into the ground it will be a pointless weapon so I don't come on here and whine everytime Tanken jumpspinstabs me from point blank range with a 10 ft pole

People need to stop just going "NERF LS ALL LS = SCRUBS" and actually come at it with some sound logic and mechanical balancing solutions.

Crpg community members will never be reasonable when it comes to buffs and nerfs.  They want everything that hits them to be made of noodles, and their armor to be made of Diamonds

37 cut 23 pierce or 40 cut 25 pierce at masterwork.. is a wet noodle to you, I don't believe you've played the other melee classes enough.

The longsword is overrated.  The thing about the longsword and other weapons of a similar nature is that if one takes the time to master their potential they will seem op, but in actuality it is the players skill and not simply the weapon that is truly op.

I just switched from LHB to katana-spammer, and IMO katana/LS > any other fucking weapon I've ever used. It's kinda fun to play tough since you can spam everyone and outreach most non 2hers with the stab.

Yeah, this thread is silly.

Anyhow Mori I'm referring to maybe 6-8 months ago?  Not sure anymore, but it was strength/armor/heavy weapons everywhere in siege.  I was balanced build and would hit people like Sosarian Knight or Tretter like 7-8 times with a +3 LS to kill them....hence why I started using the morningstar more back then for the pierce. 

Times have changed it seems and a lot of people are lighter now in their builds/armor/weaponry.   Now the +3 LS cuts through people plenty....

I'm not complaining about longsword though - not sure how you got that idea.

Killiam and I were playing low-pop siege last night (~15 people), and I realized with great sadness that we were the server's armor crutchers in our Rus Scale. Everyone else was in mail or lower.

I guess the good players all value speed over survivability, and the new players are too broke for heavy armor.

I was in siege late night last night (around 35 on actually) - LOTS of people I usually see in battle.  Was fun.

some people has problems..... What the fuck guys...... just make tank build and learn finally to play and its fine. the longsword is not OP. i dont see that match people playing with that weapon this days. so shoud the fuck up and get a job.
