Strat battles - fighting in syrup (on NA3 at least)

The large battles typically start out okay but after about 15 to 30 minutes of fighting, it's hard to even swing my weapon.  It seems like half the time I left click nothing happens, and certainly not as soon as I hear the block sound and want to swing immediately.

I believe the server hardware is just not adequate to be running 100+ people in the environments we're playing on (especially with all the equipment and dead bodies on the ground on top of the rag doll effects and keeping track of everything each player is doing).

Can you open up a general pay pal fund that we can contribute to (make it anonymous only) so that we can get some better hardware for NA3 to run on?

I currently have great internet (5mbps upload, 50mpbs download) and a computer that's less than a year old, I typically get 200-250 fps when I play on NA1 and there's 100+ people, and can run 2 or 3 graphic intensive games at the same time without any issues.  So if I'm having problems, then I gotta imagine (and I already know) that everyone is having the problems.  I couldn't imagine what it must be like for people who only have an average of 100 fps or lower when they play in NA1, it must be unplayable in some of the big strat battles.

Yeh its due to all the stuff laying around on the ground after a while, the server just can't handle all that properly, also EU_3 starts lagging after a while when the items multiply.
I suggest that there should be an item cap or an shorter timer for items etc. to vanish, that would help alot, even for high-end servers and players hardware.

Keep seeing these posts without a response. I will gladly donate if I knew it was going to improve the strat playability

I too feel some delay in swinging my weapons sometimes on the EU3 during strategus battles, not too much but its enough to ruin some of the fun.

I suggest that there should be an item cap or an shorter timer for items etc. to vanish, that would help alot, even for high-end servers and players hardware.

It would be the death of looting weapons and storing them in the weapon rack (or would need a fast and efficient looting squad) but in my mind, if items on the ground are the culprit for lags, then its more important to reduce it with ideas like yours.

The red headed bastard step child known as Strategus is outside freezing in the cold, that's him knocking on the door now, will you let him in for some warmth?

Had my first strat battle using the new WSE thing... Same mess.

I start off doing great.. the server is smooth.. lasts for about 20 mins.. Then it starts getting slower.. by 35 mins it is like fighting in pudding. being a 1 hander is shitty.

I was against the server move to Dallas... At this point if it would give consistant play even at 75 ping, I am all for it

i'm all for a move to dallas, imo better all around because west coast will drop below 70, east coast stays below 70, and the only people who will experience a jump of more than like 20-30 are guys up in the ass end of canada/alaskans, compare to now where everyone on the west coast is above 70 with some poor bastards at like 90+

as far as actual server lag goes, yeah, i definitely notice the strat server start to shit the bed after the battle's been going for a little while, regular NA battle doesn't have the issue.

Yup. I'm Happy i went shielder. The lag is so bad, but shields make everything better.

Laggy POS NA3. I even get the lag when there's a lot of duels. I think it's tied into the amount of items and bodies on the ground. Perhaps a limit of 50 bodies, and 150 items.

It's gotta be because of all the items and dead bodies.  Even shielder isn't that great, as soon as I hear the "block" sound I try to swing and I have to left click 2 or 3 times before it registers that I'm trying to swing.  My favorite is ghost swinging myself: I don't realize I'm swinging until my weapon hits the enemy.

OH even better, Had this happen last night. You(or enemy) swing with a weapon and...well they aren't holding the weapon but it's there alright. Or your weapon disappearing. POS server.

Shield is a help when it works. i think the long reach pole arm is a huge benefit when things go to hell

Happened to me doing a shoot out with an archer. No animation at all as I was lining up my shot then suddenly arrow appears and animation begins with him reaching for another one!
