The game is twitching while it shows that I have 70-100 fps. I can describe it as if I had 0 fps drops for 100ms every 1-2 seconds. That was fixed by turning water reflections off. Despite that I faced some similar situations with water reflections being turned off.

I experienced the same (well, i have less fps), but it's old news - in native client i have the same issue in dx9 and thats why i go dx7. Even with everything you can turn off or set to lowest in-game.

But, when messing with config settings i was able to minimize the effect. Sadly, as i changed more than one value i am unable to recreate it right now. When i'll have time, i'll try to figure out where lies the problem (as it could be as simple as changing just one value).

If it looks like the animations are "jerking" and "twitching" then I have the same problem.

When I first used the beta launcher I had the same graphics settings and same FPS as on the old one. I thought it was related to FPS so I lowered some the graphics settings, ending with above 100 FPS (I have 100 as my max FPS) and still I had these jerky animations. I lowered everything to minimum and increased one thing at a time to max (didn't have anything on max before) to find out what the culprit was. Everything went fine until I turned HDR on. Jerky animations all over the place. Turned HDR off and tested the rest of the graphics options. Environmental shadows also seemed to trigger it.

I then played a bit with everything on highish, except HDR and Environmental shadows which I turned off. All seemed fine but after some time I had the jerky animations again. They only lasted for a small amount of time, then they weirdly left. Sometimes they stayed longer than others. I just redownloaded Fraps and I'm trying to footage it. Gonna post the video if I can get some good shots of it.

I used to have this problem. I set my max FPS to 80 and it has been alot smoother ever since.

Yeah that's what I'm getting too.

It's not so much framerate stutter, rather animation stutter.

In my case I could not record it internally, because fraps effectively lowered my fps and reduced stutter.

It's sort of like that, but worse. I'll try setting my FPS limit lower and see what happens.

Animation stutter = GPU performance is super low opposed to CPU performance (or the opposite, don't remember)

Then it's likely the GPU. I don't handle that situation very well though, I'll still make further optimizations to make it look smoother.

Sounds interesting. Now I'd also like to hook up an external CPU, and maybe some external RAM as well, and I'm set.

Sooo the problem is probably my video card?

Anyone know if theres a way to optimize/fix/whatever a graphics card on a laptop? Connecting an external one might work but I'd rather try to fix the one I have now. At least check if it's damaged in any way.

It did run warband, cRPG and everything else just fine before. Did I damage it in any way through overheating or something?

After I tried started normal warband I also played some native SP to try with graphics maxed. It worked fine, but damn, long time since I've done that. Kinda strange looking at how native SP Warband is now when I'm so used to mods and everything. This is why I love these kind of games :D
